Awful night last night with ds1 (y13) he was sobbing. Its all just got too much for him. I wish I knew what to say 😕 didn't get to bed till gone 1am.

Ds2 will be anxious about going back to school even though he wants to.

Dh isn't great with emotional stuff. He's great with practical stuff.

I'm tired.

I think these exam years students are perfectly justified in feeling very upset and a bit lost. All you can do is hug them & whisper reassuring words .

Oh, I'm so glad to have found my people! I've just explained to my utterly baffled husband that Obsession now isn't what it was and that EDT is not the same as EDP. Then again, he spent ages the other day explaining different plumbing connections so... I think it's safe to say we both need to be getting out more.

SOTD is the rather lovely Bagatelle de Gabrielle by Omorovicza that I bought on a whim from TK Maxx.

Tomorrow I'm off for my jab and I'm planning something more celebratory - maybe celebrate the first whiff of spring with some Diorissimo?

A very kind perfumista sent me a decent of vintage obsession and when I smelt it I actually felt tearful!
Sadly, many of the greats are no longer what they once were...

There are many Dior fans on this thread - my favourite is Addict :)

I went for pp mmm BTF in the end for a very windy day.

I have two thirds of a bottle of vintage Obsession and am hoarding it along with the memories of how fabulous it made me feel in the late 80s/early 90s. I had blokes ask me on a date because it smelt so good on me. Now, I do worry that I might feel a bit try-hard if I wore it out to a bar. Ah, remember bars...?

I really like it. It was a bit of a risk but I like their skincare so...

It's a little bit powdery but not in an old lady way. A bit spa-like (which makes sense) with a bit of freesia or hyacinth but there's something a bit heavier underneath. On the whole it's a good, fresh daytime scent and it lasts well too. Not sure if I'd pay £125 for it, but for £40 it was worth a punt. Might buy a spare sometime but it's still on their website for now.

SOTD MG Lemon. Something spring-y for the Scottish Government roadmap. What a waste that was.

Its his 18th birthday day mid June (about a week before the planned end of restrictions...)
Would you have a deferred b day celebration or just go ahead with a a smaller one?
Ds1 isn't into big parties so I'm thinking similar to what we did last year (weather permitting)
Gazebo up in garden and give family and friends timed slots so we don't go over 6 people?
It would be nice to go out for a meal..
I need something to look forward to.
I think he might have his mates round for a firepit party
