So much perfume, so little time 😁

I’ve been wearing my new Diptyque since it arrived - I really love it. I have about 40 FBs and a huge biscuit tin of samples.

I found out last week that one of my students is a massive perfumista, and he even has his own Fragrantiva profile. We have been having some lovely chats, and I have promised him some decants when face to face teaching resumes. It’s so nice to get that wee connection with someone while we are working remotely - I’m really proud of how my first years have managed to form a “community” without ever having met!

As is over three chocolate shop but nothing are gourmand and quite sweet.
Today will be spent doing errands, editing ds1s geography coursework and applying for student finance.

Hex in the city - it’s the Perfume Society Niche Collection V box. I feel a bit guilty - they are not all stinkers! The Maison Matine box of samples are all good. Today I’m wearing Bain de Midi which is a little like Nuxe Prodigieux Le parfum and it’s gentle and comforting - although slightly reminiscent of Pledge/ Mr Sheen on first spray! In fact a couple of them open like this . Hazard Bazar, my least favourite opens strong MR sheen then elephant dung, then pleasingly pepper male spicy (quite the olfactory journey).
Maybe it’s just me but Moresque’s Lady Tubereuse is also all furniture polish.
Couldn’t stand either of the Dsquared Woods - gone off fruit.
Morton Brown Juniper Jazz quite nice - but didn’t last long.
I was disappointed in the Bentley collection samples. I’d had high hopes as many were listed as having the base notes I love. Hated the Osmanthus and Hibiscus but the Heliotrope was pleasant.
Overall the stars for me were the Valmont samples, but they do resemble mass market perfumes which retail at a fraction of the cost of the Valmont ones - Storie Venziane and Lady code Particularly lovely. Trvdon Elae was my favourite though. Different. Strong non-cloying lily on me .

Welcome all newcomers! I've got a ton of 4160 Tuesdays perfumes so feel free to ask for recommendations based on what you like. My personal favourite are all the rose ones: Red Queen, Raw Silk and Red Roses, Killer Rose, but I also love Sex Goddess, Drive Them Wild, Tart's Knicker Drawer and the marvellous Extra Sexiest Scent on The Planet Ever, which I prefer to the original.

SOTD Pharrell Williams Girl. It's the most incredible woody iris. It has a slightly Jeff Koons style bottle and the perfume smells like high end niche. It's discontinued now but if you ever find it, snap it up.

I have a Sarah McCartney special too...ESSOTPE with added Amber...yum yum 😋
I adore white queen but sadly after a while the grapefruit gets really screechy on my skin. Such a shame 😞

😂 got an email notification today that my taster set from 4106 had been posted, it’s not even arrived and I’m already planning my second batch based on all your recommendations! Particularly love the write up on white queen so that’s top of the list for next time.

Sotd byredo bal d’afrique which I adore although it doesnt seem to last long on my skin which is a shame because it really is gorgeous.

SOTD Monocle x Comme des Garçons Laurel. A green, aromatic and fresh woody scent which might work bar the long forgotten scent memory of Ajax that it evokes for me. Not a patch on the Sugi from the same collection, a masterpice of cypress and juicy, plumply ripe lemon that would be my forever scent if it lasted more than an hour on me. I’ve also been enjoying the dryer woody, more masculine Hinoki from the same collection this week, putting it straight to the top of my FB wish list.

Has anyone tried Yogogi from the Monocle x Comme des Garcons collaboration?

The unexpected perfume connection sounds great Judy , the difficulty of forming online relationships makes those little breakthroughs so satisfying.

I’m pleased to have broken out my spring scents - I was getting bored of my winter collection so I’m glad of a break. So it’s vintage Champs Elysees, Penhaligon’s Bluebell and Jardin d’Ecrivains Gigi.

I’ve struggled with not being able to try before I buy, but I stuck my neck out last week and ordered Chanel’s Chance. I don’t know what came over me! I’ve never got on with Chanel, but for some reason I want to believe my Chanel scent is out there and I liked the description.

Have I made a mistake?

one I've just bid on some youth dew Amber nude, bought a sandalwood candle and ordered a 4160 special edition AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT 😅😅😅😅

I have an Olfactive Studio Discovery Set, a Floris LIBRARY of 15ml sprays and a really great cinnamon-y incense perfume called Centauri Dendera, a mini set of 4711 Acqua Colonia AND a bottle of 4160 Tuesdays Extra Sexiest Scent On The Planet. SOTD Shay and Blue Black Tulip. It's the 3rd time that I've worn it, the first time I absolutely loved it a d I thought I'd found The One (of many) but then the second time I didn't really like it. Today I'm back to liking it. Newbie here and I do have some questions which I won't bombard you with you with, but the 1st & 3rd time I sprayed on my wrist and the 2nd time (when i didn't like it) I'd sprayed it on my neck. Do fragrances smell different depending on where you use them? (Sorry if that's an amateur question )

SOTN is Eau de Soliel Blanc - Tom Ford. smells like musky very VERY expensive suncream. Hopefully im going to greece in august so i think this, if we get there, will be perfect for that

I'm getting through A LOT of candles being home so much so have ordered another from etsy 😁
I'm also looking ahead and have ordered a portable air con unit for summer so we will now have the worst summer for years...sorry!!
