One look that you love and one that you loathe

Love - silk shirts with a blazer and fitted trousers/jeans. Brogues or block heels. Really dainty jewellery.

Loathe - 50s look (unless it actually is from the 50s), Irregular Choice shoes etc.

I won't say what I do and don't like as would not like to offend anyone however if anybody knows who Lauren Conrad is, I think she always looks amazing, classy.

People who dress like Lauren Goodger, post Kanye Kim Kardashian is a no no for me.

Love the rock/goth/alternative kind of look. Dr Martens, faux leather shorts or skirts with black tights and a graphic t shirt or plaid shirt tucked in. I love good quality gothic style jewellery as well and quite a lot of eye make up.

Hate the leisure wear as fashion trend. The idea of wearing jogging style bottoms outside and not actually jogging just boggles me! Not a huge fan of bodycon either.

My likes and dislikes change so fast that there are no rules in stone.

But I love to see people wearing a tonal coloured look that fits and flatters the body inside without overt displays of flesh or being swathed.

I hate last summer's Amish milkmaid dresses in lurid sprigged, draped florals with ruffles and furbelows. Usually made in nasty polyester.

And most wedding outfits.

I think the only thing I've seen listed on loathe lists and not on any love lists is cold shouldered tops. Does anyone like them?? 😂

I really dislike these enormous white collars appearing on dresses at the moment. Return to the pilgrim brothers for me.

Loathe the dresses with trainers look, it is so passe.

Love thick or leather high waist leggings with cropped tops. Also fitted red dresses like Jessica Rabbit.
Hate leggings with tunics/dresses. Also loose fitting dresses and statement jewellery.
I'll get my coat....

I love mixing things up - so a feminine floral dress with docs - my favourite look ( I don’t own docs)
I hate the fake eyelashes, overdone makeup , slug eyebrows, fake tan look - it is the woman inside you want to show off.

I’ve been watching Dead To Me thanks to this thread, and yes, Judy’s style is gorgeous.

In a similar vein, I love Rebecca’s clothes in This Is Us.

SJP looks amazing in Divorce, and Sharon Horgan in Catastrophe wears my dream wardrobe.

Not so keen on the Kardashian bodycon thing, or Rita Ora’s style with the big hoop earrings - but then I’m a bit old.

They do seem to be universally disliked! I saw a gorgeous woman with a cold shoulder cashmere jumper recently and she looked amazing in it but I've never seen another one I thought looked nice.

Think how much nicer the cashmere sweater would have looked without the shoulder holes.

I don't loathe them. I don't own one myself but get entirely why they are popular. They allow women who don't want to show their upper arms to wear strappy tops. I don't think they look bad either.

I love the Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Kravitz & Fka Twigs style. Love colour on a hair band. Love bold bright colours that compliment skin tone. Love large designed earrings.

Hate anything from Breakfast at Tiffany's/ Gone with the wind/ pre diversity of shape time.
Hate Jersey Shore/The cube/TOWIE look. Find royals dressing boring. Find 1950 housewife dressing sad. Find Mom Jeans gives people huge hips and are very unflattering; same for wide ankle surfing jeans.

Man, I could go on.

I know most people hate them, especially on here but I love long nails, especially with colours and designs on. Wouldn't be without my inch long acrylics (inch from the end of my finger / the free edge, not the whole nail from cuticle to tip).
And again bigger fluffier brows seem more popular at the moment, but I love thin eyebrows.
Also love large hoop earrings, the bigger the better, again I know most don't.

Loathe: Most of the wedding outfits suggested here. That vaguely bodycon, off the shoulder, shiny material look.

Like: Tartan dresses/pinafores/skirts. I usually look terrible in them, but I think they can look great on other people.

Pencil dress, mary jane or t bar shoes. Silk scarf
Loathe trainers, trousers, anything baggy or unshapely

I'm not keen on that hippyish layered look with the linen tunics and trousers - it makes me look like a big rusty sack. The round wide shoes it seems to go with make my size 41s look like I am wearing barges.

I like the US preppy look, and love the Sezane image. I also aspire to the Cos Scandi minimal vibe but as with others big old boobs make that tricky.

I have to ask though - TeaAddict - the Scarlett O'Hara look? Where on earth are you seeing that?

Love: Flowing summer dresses.

Love: A really well fitted black dress. I don’t think black is boring. It’s chic! And most women of any age, shape or size can look phenomenal in the right LBD.

Loathe: Dresses with trainers. Can’t wait for this trend to pass. I just think ‘Lily Allen circa 2007’ when I see this style. Love dresses, love trainers, but not together. Especially in the summer .

I don't like the white trainers with dresses look on older women. There s something a bit try too hard and desperate about it. Especially when they're white trainers. Theres a .minnie mouse element too. Younger women can pull it off.

I'm not a younger woman so don't think I'm being ageist.
