Anyone recommend a micro current device?

MiniDoofa · 23/01/2021 23:22

I’m in my mid 40s and definitely have jowls, wrinkles etc. I also have acne so not keen to try creams, serums etc.
I’ve been looking at the NUFACE micro current device and wondering whether it actually works?!!! Looking to tone up my skin. Would love to hear your thoughts Smile

I've got the NuFace mini and love it. I do the 5 mins every morning and have definitely seen a lift in my face. I've been using it since November.

roundturnandtwohalfhitches · 25/01/2021 11:36

I spent all weekend investigating these online and I've just ordered a Nuface fix because its my undereyes that seem to have taken a battering this winter - I think it's being in central heating so much its setting off my sinuses. I didn't want to spend so much on the trinity with the attachment.
Even though the reviews are mixed, I do facial exercises all the time and they do help a lot - if I forget for a week or so I notice, so I'm presuming that the microcurrent thing does the same thing without all the effort.

I have two - the first one is the same as this but I cannot recall where I bought it from - it was online anyway and I use it on my face - I do think it makes a difference yes - I am in my 50s though no one ever thinks so - you select whichever colour you need for your skin - there is one for acne

the second one I use on my neck and up to my chin - this too I really rate despite the so so reviews on their - I was lucky enough to get it a year or two ago on QVC when it launched for about £70

on their website I mean

workshy44 · 25/01/2021 18:20

I heard the Ziip device is way better than nuface but haven't tried either

missfliss · 25/01/2021 18:27

I have the NuFace Tria and the ELE attachment ( I have hooded eyes) and have been using daily since early January.
I do undoubtedly see an immediate difference every time - my cheekbones are more pronounced, my eyes are lifted and brighter and my nose-to-mouth lines are far less obvious.

However need to give it far longer to say if any results are long lasting

PilatesPeach · 25/01/2021 20:45

neither of the devices that I use require any special gel just a moisturiser that contains aqua.

Foreo Bear. Not the mini. Some 20% off promotions at the moment.

I’ve had Nu Face Mini. Not a patch on the Bear. Bear is easier to use. Quicker to use and more comfortable. It also works better (on me). Has made a big, big difference.

Gave my NuFace Mini to my sister.

roundturnandtwohalfhitches · 01/02/2021 12:06

Used the Nuface fix for less than a week now and I'm super impressed. I have fine lines on my forehead and the start of 11's and they are so so much better and I wasn't expecting that. Bags under my eyes have mostly gone as well. I'm not sure if the results would last without keeping it up but that's ok.
I might invest in either the Ziip or the NuFace trinity at some point in the future.
Downside is the gel as everyone says -dries too quickly and you get so little.

Spodge · 01/02/2021 15:03

I have been using the NuFace mini for just over three years. I don't notice any immediate difference after using it. But my eyes are noticeably less hooded now and my skin generally looks slightly better than when I started - which after three years I am happy with.

HappyKatieA · 01/02/2021 19:15

This is why I shouldn't look at this board, I've just ordered a Foreo Bear! I've read lots of reviews and got sucked in... please let it work 🤞🏽
I've been looking at my face in Zoom for ages questioning whether I could
a) afford surgery
b) I need fillers
c) find some other way to lift up my skin/jawline.
I'll be 49 this year and I'm really noticing my face sliding..
I managed to get a really good deal though if anyone is interested, £215! Everywhere else was £279... am I allowed to post it the link here? It was with Toby Deals. I've purchased through them before, they seem be able to sell electrical items at a better price sometimes.
Hope that helps someone!

BangingOn · 01/02/2021 20:26

I’m very tempted by the Foreo Bear. Please could someone explain to me in simple terms what sort of serum/gel I need to use? Does it need to be their own or can I work with the many serums I already have?

HappyKatieA · 01/02/2021 20:57

Ooh, good question @BangingOn!

Popsy321 · 01/02/2021 22:14

It needs to be water based, like an aloe vera gel. I'll find a link.....stand by......

HappyKatieA · 01/02/2021 22:19

I've just ordered some ultrasound gel as it was recommended on a couple of sites... hhhmmm 😬

HappyKatieA · 01/02/2021 22:19

I like the idea of aloe Vera gel @Popsy321 👍🏽

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 01/02/2021 22:36

FOREO Bear has its own Serum but it’s very expensive. I use this, from LookFantastic.

Bear is WONDROUS!

Anyone recommend a micro current device?
HappyKatieA · 01/02/2021 22:44

Really @EleanorRigbyWasReal ?
I've been semi-regretting my impulse purchase this evening, I'm so pleased you've said that!
Can I ask how old (ish) you are? What it's improved?

BangingOn · 01/02/2021 22:48

That is super helpful, thank you so much. I have high hopes for this, I really hope I’m not disappointed as I’m spending far too much of the day staring at my own face on Teams and contemplating how old I suddenly look.

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 01/02/2021 22:52

I’m 58. You won’t regret it. Did you get the “big Bear” with 5 settings? I mentioned up thread about LookFantastic having a good offer on.

All I can tell you is it has lifted my face. Smoothed it.

Will pm a photo tomorrow.

Eyjafjallajokulldottir · 01/02/2021 22:52

Whats the difference between say a nuface or a foreo bear and a cheap £50 one off amazon? I have ridiculous jowls but no money 😔

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 01/02/2021 22:55

You need to use each day. Just 3 mins fir me, each side of my face. I’d plugged away with NuFace for a very long time and would say, without doubt, that Bear has had a far far better result, for me personally.
