Anyone recommend a micro current device?

I’m in my mid 40s and definitely have jowls, wrinkles etc. I also have acne so not keen to try creams, serums etc.
I’ve been looking at the NUFACE micro current device and wondering whether it actually works?!!! Looking to tone up my skin. Would love to hear your thoughts Smile

Slendertone face. I stopped using it when I started having CACI facials, which I imagine are more powerful, as it's a medical grade machine. Apparently. Interestingly, my face hasn't collapsed in on itself during lockdown, and I'll be limiting CACI to eye treatments only. Partly because my face hasn't suffered too much, and partly because the beautician has put her prices up sooooo much. I must start using it again.

No, the order is still processing. I want my bear!

OrangeVelour · 06/02/2021 17:56

I've been using the Rio 60 Second Facelift and I love it! I've only had it for a few weeks, but I can definitely see a difference. I mainly bought it to lift my top lip a bit as I've noticed it's been getting a bit longer as I've got older. There are quite a few videos on it on Youtube.

Agree, @LadyAgripina but I think people will look back on this time, with injectable sand botox as far too invasive. Most of it, is NOT a good look. I think, a little electro massage is a different approach, altogether.

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 06/02/2021 18:31

Injectables and Botox

@DailyCandy I saw a difference after about 3 weeks. Everyone at work noticed too and they didn't know I had been using the device. Only thing is it took me about 30 mins to complete one treatment. I just don't have the patience anymore plus I work very long hours and I don't want to come home and spend 30 mins on my face!

LesLavandes · 06/02/2021 19:20

Daily Candy. I am looking at the NEWA too. Nobody on here replied to me.

I did not get any improvements with Nuface or Purelift Pro

DailyCandy · 07/02/2021 09:36

Thanks postcard! Worth a shot... I have nothing but time on my hands right now...

LesLavandes - do you mean you're thinking of the Tua also? Agree on the Nuface - I think I will sell mine.

postcardfromme · 08/02/2021 08:59

@DailyCandy you could get 2 attachments as the device can accommodate 2 wands - in that way the treatment will be about 15 mins.
Honestly it's great! I actually don't know why I am not just getting a Tua again??!! I think I have had it want to try something else. You don't need to buy any special gels or creams as water activates the thingies that do the work! I hope it works for you too! I may just re-think and get a Tua again!!

DailyCandy · 09/02/2021 22:00

Fingers crossed! Yes I bought an extra attachment too. I’m glad it doesn’t need any special conducting gel - too sticky and expensive

LesLavandes · 10/02/2021 18:56

Daily Candy. Yes. I am thinking of getting the NEWA. Have you ordered yours yet?

BangingOn · 18/02/2021 09:00

How is everyone getting on?

I am a few weeks in and doing two cycles of my Foreo Bear every morning on the highest setting. My skin definitely feels firmer and I think I can see a difference in the weekly photos I’m taking, although I’m aware it’s likely to take much longer to see real change.

I love using it though and my skin glows immediately afterwards from the massage effect, which is nice.

@HappyKatieA my bear hasn't arrived and Toby deals has now ceased trading. Good tip...

Mine hasn't either... it's been in transit since beg of Feb.
I'm so sorry for recommending them, I've ordered from them a number of times, no problem.
I had no idea they'd ceased trading? How did you find that out @westr
I paid via PayPal, so I'm going to try to get my money back.
I really feel bad, I am sorry!

westr · 18/02/2021 13:16

It's on their website. Although I got an email from them on Saturday saying it had been shipped so perhaps it will still turn up. I'm going to file a complaint via PayPal next week if it doesn't arrive

HappyKatieA · 18/02/2021 15:00

@westr - I've gone through the PayPal claims today, and raised a dispute, mine was shipped on 6th Feb, it's with Hermes, but I can't track it further than that.
I've seen the message on To yDeals website.
I feel terrible I recommended them.

westr · 18/02/2021 22:07

Yes me too. I'm still hopeful it will still arrive though. Otherwise I'll just have to stay saggy!

princessTiasmum · 18/02/2021 23:43

Is the foreo bear any good for the neck and jowls especially?
I have had the Nuface which i wasn't impressed with and sold it on ebay,i have tried radiofrequency, and wonder if it would be better for jowls,as they are really more skin than muscle aren't they, and RF is for tightening,so thinking i might go back to that,

openupmyeagereyes · 20/02/2021 11:30

@EleanorRigbyWasReal or any other users

My Bear was delivered yesterday and I’ve used it twice so far. When I use it on my forehead I get a prickling sensation shoot up my scalp in some areas. Has anyone else experienced this? It’s a bit uncomfortable but hopefully that’s all.

The Bear is definitely easier and faster to use than the NuFace. I’ve had a NuFace for two years and never got into the habit of using it regularly. The video on the Cult Beauty website was useful to see how to use it. I haven’t yet used the app routine as when I tried it seemed stuck on the highest setting and I couldn’t work out how to change it. Manually it was fine.

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 20/02/2021 20:16

Hi.

The buzzing and tingling is normal. I stopped using NuFace as it set my teeth on edge. Bear doesn’t do that

I wouldn’t bother with the app. I’d do 3 mins either side, slow upward movements. Anything gentle and “up” is beneficial.

RichPetunia · 20/02/2021 21:14

Hi I rate the Cleo Q facial device. The pads can be a bit tricky but the difference in my facial tone and the lift to my cheeks is the best. I’ve used nuface and this is better.

Back2Black · 21/02/2021 06:28

openupmyeagereyes the forehead thing - I get it too. I read that it's due to the skin being thinner there.

I can't say I've noticed any difference yet (4 weeks in) on the highest setting at 10 minutes daily.

openupmyeagereyes · 21/02/2021 08:49

Back2Black it’s quite startling isn’t it? I didn’t get this with the NuFace at all.

HappyKatieA · 21/02/2021 16:52

@westr - my bear has just been delivered! I had totally given up, but a Hermes parcel turned up and it was the bear! Hopefully that means yours is in its way 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

westr · 21/02/2021 17:35

Hey @HappyKatieA that's great news and I've had a message from Hermes to say mine is being delivered tomorrow! What a relief!
