What little things elevate your look??

Looking to steal some ideas!

Little things I notice that I think kick my outfit up a notch:

-rolling up cuffs or pulling sleeves up slightly
-the 'French tuck' thing where you partially tuck in your top
-leaving a little bit of ankle showing when wearing skinny/ slim jeans and boots

Osquito I have and loved it, so expensive though. I bought the DIY kit on Amazon during Lockdown 1 thinking it couldn't be that hard, I had lashes pointing in all directions for weeks Blush

babysnowman · 15/01/2021 00:43

I had LVL done about a year ago, it looked great but only for about a week so didn't think it was worth the money

Brows
Lipstick
Good winter coat
Botox when I can afford it. (Very subtle.)

littleloopylou · 15/01/2021 00:53

Well planned layers
Mascara
Gold jewelry

Quaagars · 15/01/2021 01:23

@RavingAnnie

Grin

I'm with you lol
I'm only on this thread as I saw it trending and agree Grin
Wash, clean clothes and brushed my hair I'm seriously winning.
Now trying to get my head round blusher dupes, wearing a blazer (!) (for work? Or just fancy casual everyday?) and strong lips

Quaagars · 15/01/2021 01:24

OK, what's lvl Blush

Monty27 · 15/01/2021 01:36

Shiny hair a bit of foundation and orangey red Matt lipstick
A nice coat and boots is my lockdown way to go

grassisjeweled · 15/01/2021 01:40

Suggestion of collar bone

French tuck really works

Thin layers I. E Thin shirt, thin cardigan, teamed with skinny /tights pants. Especially effective with the French tuck and heels (weeps for heels)

grassisjeweled · 15/01/2021 01:42

I need to do all of these but the French tuck is BAD on my pot belly!

^

Wider waist band?? Or high waist?

BeaLola · 15/01/2021 01:56

Which lash curler do you rate ? I have straight lashes , I have had lvl - first two occasions brilliant - 3rd time lasted about 4 days and was a waste of money ( all of this was pre covid) but when it worked did make a very good difference to how my face looked

Do those of you who curl lashes then to mascara afterwards ?

Quaagars · 15/01/2021 02:06

Scrap last post, seems to be eyelashes on a quick Google

Juancornetto · 15/01/2021 07:47

@Bunchup

Rubies
😍 emeralds for me Grin
Anotheruser02 · 15/01/2021 09:00

I like a cross body bag. Agree with most of these.

SoDiorDarling · 15/01/2021 09:09

@Quaagars it's basically a lash tint and perm.

I love the result but have to say I think you need a good lash tech. The girl who did mine had me in agony during and then only one eye has the full results. The other have straight lashes in the middle which is annoying.

Janegrey333 · 15/01/2021 11:17

@IHaveBrilloHair

"A strong lip" Just the one then, I suppose it makes the expensive lipstick last twice as long if you don't wear it on both lips.
Grin

A lip goes with a piece.

The tucking in thing - I refuse to give it gravitas by referring to it as a “French tuck” is ridiculous.

Deathraystare · 15/01/2021 11:24

The only thing I can think of is an eyebrow pencil. My eyebrows are driving me mad as they are supposed to have a bit of an arch but one has now decided against it. I cannot see very well so it is a right pain! I have the starting of eye brows but no wing.

Deathraystare · 15/01/2021 11:27

The french tuck thing is not a good look on me- I am apple shaped. It would just make me look dishevelled!

Deathraystare · 15/01/2021 11:28

I think it looks silly anyway!!!

Spanielmadness · 15/01/2021 11:30

Sometimes, when I’m feeling fancy, I wipe the mud off my dog-walking coat! 🤣

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 15/01/2021 11:32

Changed blusher from peach pink to a cool pink. So, I don’t look as “febrile”.

Brows.

ShaunaTheSheep · 15/01/2021 12:11

Idea stolen from elsewhere - sellotaping over your camera for a flattering filter.

Good lighting

Warm slippers.

I have been working from home too long!

DaphneBridgerton · 15/01/2021 12:20

A blazer (with jeans, trainers and a plain tee)
Small, good quality gold hoop hearings
Clean white trainers
Eyebrow maintenance
All black outfits
Smart, designer leather handbag

SoDiorDarling · 15/01/2021 12:50

@DaphneBridgerton amazing name Grin what you've posted was my uniform day to day! Can not beat a good all black outfit, blazer, white trainers and nice bag.

Frizzzhead · 15/01/2021 13:27

I never knew the French tuck was a thing. I always assumed that was the result of having kids and not having enough time to tuck your short in properly after going to the loo. Grin

Doffodils · 15/01/2021 13:31

I had no idea the French Tuck was an actual thing. I do this because my waist is my best bit and I want my waistband to be seen at the front but I can't make tops look "right" if I tuck them in properly Grin
