What little things elevate your look??

Looking to steal some ideas!

Little things I notice that I think kick my outfit up a notch:

-rolling up cuffs or pulling sleeves up slightly
-the 'French tuck' thing where you partially tuck in your top
-leaving a little bit of ankle showing when wearing skinny/ slim jeans and boots

I third the belt

WingBingo · 14/01/2021 21:58

I love a French tuck, crisp white shirts and one / two quality leather accessories (jacket, shoes, belt or bag)

elsaesmeralda · 14/01/2021 22:02

Yes to French tuck and jeans rolled up

Agree with blusher and also a hint of highlighter dotted in corner of eyes and on Cupid's bow always makes me look more awake

Slightly tousled hair rather than flat

Gillybobs · 14/01/2021 22:35

Tailoring on either your top half or bottom half
Small gold hoops
Plain oversized leather bag
Outfits comprising neutrals and one piece of denim
Strong lippy and minimal other makeup
Hair that's not overly done
Quality leather belt

This is making me realise how much I miss going outside of my house 😥

Bunchup · 14/01/2021 22:37

Rubies

babysnowman · 14/01/2021 22:43

@Gillybobs Totally, this is me planning how I'm going to dress up every day once lockdown ends!

My Maria Tash curated ears too - sound like SUCH a knob saying that but they make me feel that little bit extra Grin

Good brows. Especially nowadays when wearing a mask constantly, need to make sure brows are on point. I’ve just discovered brow lamination and it had totally transformed my face. More so when my brow lady does it, but I had to buy a kit and do it myself last time due to lockdown and it’s not half bad.

BumDiggyDiggyDiggyBumDiggyBum · 14/01/2021 22:49

And defo the french tuck! With a good fitting pair of jeans and hint of a bodysuit under the shirt

Faith50 · 14/01/2021 22:51

Gillybobs and babysnow

I dress up even when working from home. Full make up (although naturally done) with lipstick and a range of dresses, skirt trousers and tops. I have video calls at least once daily which gives me a good excuse. A lot of my female colleagues do likewise.

It makes a world of difference to my state of mind and my mood. Smile

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/01/2021 22:52

"A strong lip"
Just the one then, I suppose it makes the expensive lipstick last twice as long if you don't wear it on both lips.

Nicely polished nails and bouncy hair

Winecurestiredness · 14/01/2021 23:08

I have small eyes so eyeliner on the top lids changes my entire face Grin in a good way!

RuggeryBuggery · 14/01/2021 23:32

@IHaveBrilloHair
I was just coming on to post about all the singular lips going on.
You guys are going to look super odd with only one of your lips strong or bold or whatever 😂

babysnowman · 14/01/2021 23:37

@faith50 I know what you mean, I'm wfh and when I do make an effort with getting properly dressed and wear makeup I feel a lot more confident. Which probably tells me I should do it more often..

Reinventinganna · 14/01/2021 23:37

Nice underwear and a smile!

Reinventinganna · 14/01/2021 23:38

Obviously not just those

SoDiorDarling · 14/01/2021 23:39

@IHaveBrilloHair yep I do the top one in a bold red. Bottom nude. Striking.

babysnowman · 14/01/2021 23:40

@Reinventinganna 😂😂

@RavingAnnie I'm the same most of the time but I find nice escapism in thinking about these things 🤷🏻‍♀️

Earrings.

yvanka · 14/01/2021 23:53

My lashes are naturally very straight, heating my lash curler for 5 seconds before curling each lash makes them stay curly all day and look lovely. I think it makes all the difference.

Osquito · 14/01/2021 23:58

@yvanka Have you ever had a lash lift done? I’ve had it done twice and the difference to my lashes was huge! I don’t wear much makeup, or do the usual salon-treatment-thing, but for something that lasted and meant always having curled lashes I was thrilled!
Highly recommend doing it once salons are open.

SoDiorDarling · 15/01/2021 00:03

@Osquito yes I recently had lvl done and it's a game changer! Probably be agars until I can have it again.
