We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Love a good legging recommendation, feel like I live in them at the moment.

Today’s outfit was funeral attire so I will spare you all a picture. Lord of layers to ward off the cold.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 21/01/2021 23:49

I hadn't worn leggings for years till recently, now you can't get me out of them.

I hope you weren't too cold or sad today @Thedarknightsaredrawingin Flowers

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 22/01/2021 07:55

Can I join?

I'm a 16 on the bottom, 18 on the top, and happy to be as I was a 22/24 in July... but I've hit a weight loss plateau for the last month which I am trying to break atm...

I've bought a lot of clothes recently even though I really shouldn't have... my nearly 16 year old has a capsule wardrobe and told me off for getting parcels yesterday BlushGrin She likes clothes but unsurprisinhly her taste is different to mine and she finds the jumper dress I have on today amusing Shock although she says it looks nice - she is pretty honest - she appears to have seen anyone wear one before and asked me what the point is if I still need to wear something underneath... Confused

Anyway I'm wearing black "super skinny" jeans from George at Asda (size 16) - I know they're "out" but how can anyone tell they aren't jeggings? under a fawn colour jumper dress also from George - maybe my last order from there as I got hit with customs charges this time (EU) but the clothes are such value for money I paid up this once - here in Germany cheap clothes seem to look cheap, and you have to pay a lot more for anything decent.

I'm still going to work at work (healthcare/ supported living) which involves escorting people to various appointments so I guess people see what I wear, but work dress code is essentially jeans - which suits me.

I've recently ordered from Hush and Mint Velvet for the first time in the sales just because I now can and wanted to BlushGrin I love my new Mint Velvet girlfriend jeans and a v neck super soft jumper from Hush, although the delicate washing instructions aren't very practical for me with my work meaning clothes need washing every wear, and having a big family to wash for at home!

I'm enjoying getting inspired by what you're all wearing!

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 08:46

Sorry to hear that @Thedarknightsaredrawingin Flowers. I hope it was all ok.

Welcome @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme Smile! I think even creating a capsule wardrobe takes a bit of time and involves buying things! Especially if you've changed shape or size a lot as you have. I will warn you, this thread is terrible for 'making' me buy things GrinBlush. But I do more or less have a capsule wardrobe and only buy things I know will fit in with it, so think it's fine Halo.

I can chime in on uniqlo for an apple even though the question was a few days ago-

the size charts are way out and the sizing on bottoms is really generous. I think the L is supposed to be a 76cm waist, which is a 12. I ordered some wide legged heatteach black smartish trousers for dd to wear to an interview (she feels the cold). Her waist is 75cm measured with a tape meadure but they were comically too big - so huge they looked like a weight loss boast "after" picture. So I tried them on (86cm waist) and they fit perfectly, really comfortable...

Its a nice ego boast but it would be so much more practical if they put the real sizing on the size chart - they must get so many returns!

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 09:50

Ah interesting brained! I have actually never bothered to get the tape measure out, but I am usually an 18 in bottoms and their XL jeggings are great on me. I am sure I've read some of their reviews though and the opposite is sometimes true; people order their size and it arrives tiny! So, I think maybe their sizing is just a bit hit and miss? I've actually never had to return anything now that I think about it though...but I only buy tees, jumpers and jeggings there.

OP posts:
ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 09:50

Sorry, I think XL is meant to be a 16 there.

OP posts:
UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 22/01/2021 10:37

ParisJeTAime I only measured DD because of wanting to buy her interview clothes online, and myself because I'm trying to lose weight for health reasons and my aim long term is a waist under 80cm as well as a healthy BMI, because of the heart disease implications (both my mother's parents died of heart disease in their early 60s, and being an apple its a concern).

I'm actually perfectly happy with how I look as a 16/18 but the measurements are just a long term health concern for me personally.

I suspect most people never measure, I'm sure its more normal not to! When shopping with a new brand which doesn't use the widely understood UK or EU numbered sizing its impossible to know what size exactly an "L" or "XL" will be without measurements - and frustratingly often still just as meaningless with! Confused

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 10:47

There's no rhyme or reason with sizing, I agree. And you don't have to justify getting out your measuring tape Smile! I just can't usually be bothered or am never able to find one when I want it, which is the only reason I don't do it. It isn't a well thought out plan NOT to measure iyswim Smile.

I do need to find one actually, as I want a Molke bra and have no idea what size to get!

In other news, my hunt for ankle boots continues! I'm considering some lace up ones from Timberland, but not sure yet.

OP posts:
UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 22/01/2021 10:53

Good luck with the Molke bra - I tried for weeks to get one! They're always sold out in the plain colours/ more supportive styles. I kept setting the email alerts but not being able to go on the website the second they arrived due to work/ homeschooling/ not noticing instantly, and they had always sold out again once I got back on the website a couple of hours later! So I've given up.

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 10:57

Oh no! I've never got that far, due to aforementioned missing measuring tape Grin!

I quite like the bright prints, but obviously the right size is sort of non negotiable... Will have a hunt for this fecking tape and then have a look.

I'm still not dressed btw Blush. Surrounded by small children at the moment. Will have to get dressed at DH lunchtime. So glad it's weekend.

Classic apple here with okay legs. I'm an 18/20 bottom. I bought a pair of XL Uniqulo heat tech velvet jeggings a couple of years ago. They are quite tight and I love how they look but I don't think there's room for air to circulate so they actually make my legs feel colder. Just saying!

StroppyTop · 22/01/2021 11:03

Can anyone recommend joggers or similar for 5’8” size 20? I look awful in leggings.

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 11:11

Omfg we have run our of coffee. I could literally cry.

@StroppyTop, I would also like to know this. I am yet to find joggers which suit me! My last attempt were a fleece lined pair from M&S. They are...ok, but too short on me, so are useless in this weather unless I want to tuck into socks or something, (I do not). I've tried Hush, which people recommend a lot for joggers. They only go up to a 16, but I will say they are on the generous side, so you might find a pair there. But, I've never had any which sit quite right from there and they are ££, so I felt like they needed to be right to justify the cost! I love their tshirts but that's another story.

@StCharlotte, ah yeah, I bet you're right that you need some air in the leggings to create some heat! I expect it depends on what you buy there. I've seen reviews saying both; way too big and way too small!

OP posts:
ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 11:12

PS: I am 5'9", so I imagine the M&S ones would also be a bit short on you @StroppyTop.

GreyHare · 22/01/2021 12:12

I cannot help on leggings or joggers as I'm a short arse and everything is too long on me.

I have to go shopping today so have gotten dressed and the sun is shining so I put on a shirt that is not black, still in cropped black jeans but with a Joules Bee Print Popover top.

Plus size chat / what are you wearing today sort of thread?
ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 12:42

Very cute bee shirt @GreyHare!

Here I am. Struggled to take a pic today, because it is so...wait for it...sunny here (yay)!

It's sunny here too. I've just done an hour of Yoga but when I fold my body down from standing my SB high shine leggings did roll down my belly but otherwise they stayed in place. They stayed in place for downward dog. I did pull the waist cord which helped. I'll have to try out the yoga leggings and the power leggings to see the difference I just happened to be wearing these already. I'm starting to wonder if the XL are too big. I dont see how they are too big as XL is for a 16 and I'm a large 16. They are very stretchy though. I do have a huge roll of belly fat though.

I can't reccomend Joggers as I'm not a big fan of them as they always feel too hot on me and they do not flatter me in the slightest.

Currently wearing an XL longline fit burgundy Superdry T-shirt with forest green high shine leggings.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 22/01/2021 13:31

What's so special about the Molke Bra's out of interest.
They've got my size in stock but they're quite pricy and don't look very supportive.

StroppyTop · 22/01/2021 13:39

Have had a small amount of success with a Hush dress in the past so might risk the harems or joggers.
My favourites in terms of fit are dark grey Tu yoga types with a foldover waist band and plenty long enough. I did keep some from M&S last year but they are too wide at the bottom and I feel about 97 when I wear them.
I like cuffed joggers if they sit right, which is why I have three not-quite-right pairs but still keep buying them.
I always think Seasalt should do them but they never do.

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 13:40

I haven't tried them yet, but people rave about the Molke bras! Apparently they are very supportive, but also really comfy, which is obviously the bra holy grail!

Hmmm that does seem strange re the leggings. I found I was hitching up the leggings I had on yesterday, BUT, I was wearing modibodi period pants underneath, which are quite hefty pants. Much to my annoyance, my modibodis have not lasted well at all, so they do fall down a lot, so think they were pulling the leggings with them. Hopefully that's it anyway, as I really like the leggings otherwise.

I've found the Sinophant plus size leggings are perfect on me and don't roll down in yoga, as they have a good, high waist. My running leggings (now gone to recycling) did used to roll during h yoga. They were lower cut, so think that may have been the problem.

StroppyTop · 22/01/2021 13:40

That was to @parisjetaime btw

FlyingByTheSeatof · 22/01/2021 13:49

My super comfy non wired bras are from Tu. I have 2 different styles I bought ages ago and I highly reccomend them for comfort and support.

I'll see if they still do them and link.

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 13:50

StroppyTop, yeah, I'd think you could maybe get away with a 16 at Hush. Worth a go anyway! I've bought quite a lot of, and returned a few, things with them and they are always really good to deal with.

OP posts:
FlyingByTheSeatof · 22/01/2021 13:51

I guess the point of the Molke bra's is they cover all sizes which Tu wont
