We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Loving the looks.

Not much to share here, I’ve been wearing my Uniqlo lounge set for the past couple of days - haven’t even bothered changing out of it to go for a walk.

Looking to buy some new clothes, but I keep thinking what’s the point? I’m going out maybe once a week to Asda and that’s it.

Also I keep losing this thread - it shows I’m watching at the top but doesn’t appear in my ‘I’m on’ list which is annoying.

ParisJeTAime · 19/01/2021 13:54

Oh no @MustardMitt, that's annoying re the thread. Maybe report your comment just now to MNHQ and see if they can help?

I know exactly what you mean re clothes shopping. I have no desire to buy any clothes at the moment, except really practical things. So I've bought warm layers and leggings for yoga class, which is my only contact with the outside world, other than grocery shopping.

I'm really looking forward to warmer weather as we will be more inclined to spend longer outdoors. At the moment, I walk everywhere, (my car battery has died due to lack of use now)! But I'm in such a hurry to get where I'm going that it doesn't especially matter how I look! Just want to stay warm and dry.

We spotted some daffodils and blossom recently, so I feel like spring is on its way! I swear the evenings and early mornings are a little lighter too.

I've got a Lookiero box on order for March as well. I've specified just dresses and accessories! I'm that excited about wearing dresses again Grin

I think I will @ParisJeTAime as I caved and spent £300 in Mango. I’m hoping to share them on this thread!

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 19/01/2021 20:34

I shamefully haven’t got dressed today. It was so horrid here we finished homeschool then baked. DH went a walk and got soaked through, much to the children’s amusement.

Zebracat · 19/01/2021 21:51

Ha, found you. I was very quietly on the last thread. Lockdown weight gain is really getting to me, I think it is exacerbating a back problem, and most of my clothes feel too small now. I was an apple shaped 16/18 but now more 18/20. Last year, I mostly bought bras in an eternal search for something comfy. I found 1 , from M&S in a black and white camo print, sorry can’t link, but Was so disappointed that they didn’t reduce them in the sale that I tried 3 others that I haven’t returned. That’ll learn em!
Just had a splurge and bought 4 tops in JL, and a bag, and more bras and some treggings from M& S. Oh and a recent jumper and cargo ish pants from H&M.oh yes and yellow welliesfordog walks. Shopping online is so hard. I tend to avoid anything described as boxy or cropped, but tops are rarely long enough, I’m only 5ft 7, so it should be possible to find a jumper that covers my belly.
I’ve wanted a biker jacket for years, but anything stiff or fussy adds to my top heaviness, but M&S have a gorgeous leather collarless jacket(autograph) in the sale. I must learn to link. Would love to know what other apples think, or indeed anyone.

ParisJeTAime · 19/01/2021 21:57

@MustardMitt, yes, please come back and show us your Mango haul! I actually haven't bought anything from there before. How is the quality/sizing etc?

@Thedarknightsaredrawingin, no shame! Sounds like the day for it. It's grim here too. We've had a pretty boring day. I did go out to the shops earlier, but that's it. Had the announcements in the supermarket telling people to be quick! That's new! My dad heard the same in his levels Sainsbury's, so wonder if it's everywhere.

@Zebracat, welcome (back)! Yes, I also gained weight last year. Trying to be healthier, but also feel so much better if I look alright while I'm at it!

I'm on the lookout for ankle boots, but I'm not really sure what I want yet.

Found you all again! Thanks @ParisJeTAime! Will get to posting again, I've gained the lockdown dress size too, so currently a size 22 24 but I've worked so much on body positivity in the last while so I'm accepting and loving myself!!

It's so lovely to see all the positive posts on hereFlowers

ParisJeTAime · 20/01/2021 09:09

@NowWeSuckingDiesel! Glad to see you back!

That's brilliant re body positivity! Something I am working on too Smile. Can you recommend any books or bloggers who you've found helpful?

I am reading a book called Intuitive Eating at the moment, which is really good. It's an anti-diet, (but despite what people think, not actually just an eat what you like thing either), sort of book. It's a good read! Would recommend. I read the older version and this is the updated one, which feels a bit more relevant. It isn't a body positivity book necessarily, but it does talk a lot about not being a dick to yourself basically.

I'm not posting a pic today, as I'm wearing the same as yesterday! I have put on some make up though, which helps matters. I did not sleep well, so I'm covering up my tired face!

I read a couple of good tips re positivity in general though, which I'll share if it isn't too much if a derail!

  1. every time your internal critic says something negative about you or your situation, say three positive things back

  2. wellbeing meditation thing, where you picture yourself and say "may you be well, may you be happy, may everything go well for you". Then do the same for a loved one and then for a stranger, like someone you've just passed on the street.

Sounds massively woo I know, but apparently it is really good for you!

I used to work with a lady who was very in tune with herself and I quite like the idea of positive affirmations.

The one thing I took from her and I do before I look in the mirror is to say to myself "I'm going to like what I see" - honestly it works Smile

I had a hair appointment on 19th December (the day we went into Tier 4) but I had to cancel it as I was self-isolating so my short-ish hair, which grows really fast, is way past its best. But today I took an extra few minutes drying it this morning and it looks so much better. Eyes and lips on ALWAYS so I feel quite presentable. Not that that I have anyone to present myself to. Wearing a jumper dress from Sainsburys which is very soft and warm over some leggings and the ever-present Ugg ankle boots/clown feet/cornish pasties. So fine from the knees up Grin

ParisJeTAime · 20/01/2021 12:03

I like that tip @StCharlotte! Will try that next time too.

Not convinced about today’s fitted sweatshirt but haven’t left the house so hey ho!

Hope everyone is well. @ParisJeTAime I find a Mango L or XL is ideal and I’m a 16/18 but nothing fitted.

ParisJeTAime · 20/01/2021 18:19

Oh I like that on you dark! Shows your lovely waistline!

The hunt for ankle boots continues. Trying to keep minimalist with my wardrobe, (well, relative to how my wardrobe used to be), so don't want to buy too many things! I am planning to get some dresses or skirts, as discussed for Spring. Think I'm going to cancel the Lookiero box and just shop for myself. If I'm honest, I can probably do a bit better if I look for myself. I do like getting the boxes, but I don't end up keeping that much.

OP posts:
Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 20/01/2021 23:49

Thanks @ParisJeTAime it’s not so flattering from the side view sadly.

I love a surprise in the post but definitely prefer choosing my own clothes. I would love a good capsule wardrobe and lockdown is helping me to consider purchases more as opposed to grabbing it, thinking it will go with stuff I have then hating it and never returning it for a refund Blush.

Depending on your shoe size M&S kids boots go upto a size 6. I got real suede boots for £18 in the sale a few weeks ago. Western style black suede, super comfortable and go great with a maxi/midi shirt dress!

ParisJeTAime · 21/01/2021 09:15

Yes, I'm trying the same thing with my wardrobe dark.

Although, having said that, I picked up a few things in online sales yesterday. Thought has a sale on, but they only go up to an 18, which is a little disappointing. I got a couple of skirts and a short dress, (tunic on me for with leggings). Also got some tshirts from somewhere called Joanie. Never bought from there before, but I liked the look of some things and their fabrics (lots of organic cotton). They have a sale on, so took a punt!

Still not dressed, as I have to wait with dd while she does her online class! They say an adult has to be in the same room at all times, for safeguarding, which is a bit tricky sometimes!

ParisJeTAime · 21/01/2021 11:17

oh yes and verdict on the lululemon leggings!

Um...they are nice, BUT, are they worth what I would have paid if I'd got them full price..hmmm not sure yet. But, then, I think one of the things people rave about is how they last, so if they are just as nice in 10 years, long after the rest have had to go to recycling, then that would make them worth the £££. They certainly look and feel good quality. I am weird about wearing shiny things. I don't know why, but I don't like it, so these are matt texture and very soft. The waist is nice and high and the seems look really good.

StCharlotte · 21/01/2021 11:53

If you like a funkier legging my friend raves about this company.

Oh thanks! I don't normally wear the bright ones, or shiny, however, there is a lovely pair which keeps flashing up at me from wolf and badger, which I'm weirdly tempted by! They are called paint something or other...

Those leggings look nice @ParisJeTAime are they compression leggings. Also what style are they. I got so confused on the Lululemon site as they have so many different leggings with no explanation I just gave up looking.

I'm wearing pretty much the same again just with a different black t-shirt.

I did panic about getting a flat battery so I wore my Uniqlo hoodie to drive the car around the block a few times.

BonnieDundee · 21/01/2021 15:35

My last pair of Evan's pear shaped jeans (I really wish I could find.an alternative), a seasalt flowery top and a loose cream debenhams mantaray warm cardi. Nice and warm and nowhere to go anyway Smile

ParisJeTAime · 21/01/2021 17:00

@FlyingByTheSeatof, they are Align ones Smile.

@BonnieDundee, yes, not a lot on at the moment is there? A walk to the post box and a deep clean of my kitchen have been my highlights today Grin.

I spent hours in that bloody kitchen today, cleaning, and honestly, there's loads more I could do in there! Ah well.
