We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Ooooo thanks @FlyingByTheSeatof! If I can get them at Tu prices, that would be a lot better!

Same thing re period pants btw; I'm buying the Tu ones next. Can you tell I am bitter re modibodi Wink?

@StroppyTop
I got joggers from H&M in the current sale, they might not be called joggers, they have a cargo pant type pocket, they have a high waist and they aren’t flappy in the legs. Camel coloured. I love them. I bought an oversized Bardot/cowl jumper to wear with them and I love that too. But it’s so warm, I usually rip it from my person after 10 minutes, so suggestions for what to wear with the joggers would be good.
@ParisJeTAime. Thank you for turning me into a size 12 today!

@Zebracat Thanks, I will check those out.

Bra update! I have given up on finding this fecking measuring tape. I had a Wine last night and ordered a bullet bra from What Katie Did. Their sizes, again are wiite limited, but they did go up to 36FF I think. I am a little smaller than that, so found something. Quite £££, but looks good. Will report back!

Still not dressed Blush. Will post when I am.

@GreyHare

I cannot help on leggings or joggers as I'm a short arse and everything is too long on me.

I have to go shopping today so have gotten dressed and the sun is shining so I put on a shirt that is not black, still in cropped black jeans but with a Joules Bee Print Popover top.

That look is Everything. I love it 😻
ParisJeTAime · 23/01/2021 12:54

Agree re the bee top! I think it's lovely.

Here I am in:

Straight leg jeans, M&S, 18L
Longline sweatshirt, Uniqlo, XL
White trainers, Fitflop, 7
Necklace, charity shop

Love the bee top- sadly it looks like it's now out of stock for me Sad

I tried a molke bra but it didn't work for me - the straps aren't adjustable and I need them at full extension. I use Royce bras for support without underwires.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 23/01/2021 13:07

That's a lovely flattering outfit @ParisJeTAime

I've got a bad habit of keeping and continually wearing unflattering oversized t- shirts due to their comfort value. But then look in the mirror and think urgh.

Should I just get rid of them as I can't help but wear them.

Can you relegate them to nightwear?

ParisJeTAime · 23/01/2021 13:38

Thank you flying Smile!

Oh I don't know @FlyingByTheSeatof! I am also a sucker for comfy! I have a great tshirt from Hush which now has a bloody great hole in it. I have relegated it to night wear, reluctantly. I think if they aren't flattering at all and you get no joy out of wearing them, or seeing yourself in them, I'd probably try and find an alternative which is comfy and flattering too.

I looked up the bee top too! Blush My residents at work would love it. Its out of stock although there's a new shirt in the same pattern at full price.

Im wearing a fluffy, chunky grey-blue jumper with subtle glittery highlights from George at Asda today, over an oversize Mint Velvet dark green shirt and Mint Velvet girlfriend jeans. I'm at work and several residents keep stroking my back and telling me I'm cuddly because of the jumper... Dressing for work is a bit of a minefield in various ways Grin

Id love a supportive, comfortable bra too - mine are okay but certainly haven't found one I could sleep in, which would be ideal for on-call overnights at work.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 23/01/2021 14:54

I actually do often wear them as nightwear but they spill over to day wear too.

I need to be strong and maybe not keep them on my chairobe Grin

ParisJeTAime · 23/01/2021 15:02

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme, I will report back on the new bra!

Ha @FlyingByTheSeatof Grin. Better than a floordrobe!

I've just walked to the supermarket with my fabulous Kipling backpack, which my sister got me for my last bday. Not super stylish, but it does look nice I think and holds a good amount of shopping. The sun is shining! I used to love winter, but my God I am ready for summer this year! I keep saying that don't I? As if, the more I say it, the quicker it will come Grin

StroppyTop · 23/01/2021 17:05

@buckeejit I have them! I do like them although they don’t hang brilliantly on me. I think I’ve shrunk the leg length in the dryer too. Perennial problem with me...

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 23/01/2021 17:06

Thanks for the kind thoughts, had a few days of moping and ready to get back to normal. Just had a long pampering bath, lots of jo Malone and a hair mask. Slathered myself in body cream and blow dried my hair (should be cut and colour week). DH just looked as me quizzically and asked if I was off out? Apparently most folk don’t go to such efforts to collect Thai take out Hmm.

A bit late but I too find hush big made, I’m a 14 in a dress there but most definitely not a 14 in reality.

XL sequin top arrived from Zara, it’s beautiful and I have nowhere to wear it but both my girls insist it’s a keeper.

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 23/01/2021 17:09

@buckeejit I have those TU ones and found the fabric really thinned after a few washes Sad

FlyingByTheSeatof · 23/01/2021 21:24

@buckeejit I have those too in black.

Maverick66 · 24/01/2021 11:13

Just want to say Hi to all.
I love this thread.
Have nothing to contribute as I rotate between 5 pairs of black joggers and 5 tops Blush unless it's supermarket day and then it's skinnies and boots and one of my 3 everyday coats.

I do put makeup on every day ..even if I'm not going through the door Grin

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 24/01/2021 11:52

Can I join in again? I was on the last thread but lost my mojo for a bit. I gave myself a total shock yesterday by weighing myself for the first time in years. I am two stone heavier than I ever have been before although interestingly I'm the same dress size as I was at my previous heaviest weight. I used to do a lot of training with a PT and I guess my shape changed and that has remained even as I've got bigger.
Anyway, the upshot of that is I've resolved to get back to healthy eating and get out more - I barely leave the house these days. But I'm not going to beat myself up about it in the process. I firmly believe I can still look good whatever my size - I just need to make a bit of effort rather than throwing on a sweatshirt and joggers. I also want to shop a bit more thoughtfully and buy fewer quality items as I do think they hang better. I think slim 20 year olds can get away with fast fashion but not when I'm a sturdy 50+!
So I've ordered this cardigan and dress from John Lewis. I think the cardigan will look lovely with denim and navy. The dress can be worn with or without the belt and I can always get it altered if I do lose weight.
Sorry that's turned into war and peace!

Hello @Maverick66 and@AlwaysReadyForABlether Smile!

Blether, much like you, I am much heavier than I think I ever have been, even when I thought I was too fat! But, like you, rather than beating myself up about it, I'm trying to make positive changes.

I'm really trying to learn a bit about nutrition, eat a good, nutritious and balanced diet, everything in moderation etc and staying active. I've just got a really good stationary bike and am doing weight training, yoga and running too, (although not today, as it is heavy snow where we are)! Dieting does not work for me in the long run. I have been at it since I was about 14, so I should know! I also think that the scales do lie. Sometimes you can look and feel the same or better but be heavier. So, not the only measure of health or overweight.

I am in joggers and a hoodie at the moment, as in about to do a workout thing. Also been out in the snow this morning! Will post outfit when dressed properly.
