We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Oh nice Charlotte! Funnily enough, I have gone a bit wild and ordered a red / pink dress recently. Not my usual thing, but I like that on you. Not sure when mine will arrive, but will naturally do the obligatory try on for the thread.

I think I like the navy one even more on you btw. Think it's the shape or maybe the shorter sleeves. Very nice anyway!

Love those dresses stCharlotte. Think I like the red one best. I’m hankering for some colour.

StCharlotte · 16/02/2021 10:49

Back to Uggs 'n' leggings today. Dull. Top is from Cotton Traders. Hardly stylish but it's lovely and soft.

My outfits are quite boring and Ive posted the trousers before, but I really like them. My 9 year old was excited about how colourful I am - which ahows I must normally be very grey/ black because the coulours aren't really bright, just grey-blue and green!

The cardigan is new from H&M - thanks for the recommendation! I finally have a non black cardigan which isn't ridiculously over long (my cardigans in colours other than black are all knee length and stick out under my coat).

The white trainers are new too as I didn't have any "smart" / non scruffy trainers, so won't be wearing these in the mud or snow!

Yay for red dress StCharlotte, nice to wear something bright!

Lovely outfits charlotte and until!

I am in my usual uniform of jeggings, vest, long sleeved tee shirt and wool v neck jumper. All from Uniqlo (tee and jumper) and M&S (vest and jeggings). All navy 😂. Such a uniform. Will wear with Seasalt Towpath boots when we go for a walk later.

StCharlotte I meant to say I like the cowl neck dress best though, of the 4 you posted yesterday.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 16/02/2021 11:23

ParisJeTAime I looked those boots upn- they're nice. I've never really had knee length boots except a stretchy fabric pair in my 20s, because even when I was a size 10 in my early 20s I had very muscular calves for some reason! Are those boots a bit wider in the calf than average knee boots? Are they comfortable for going for proper walks? I walk in hiking shoes atm - practical but not stylish!

StCharlotte · 16/02/2021 11:25

Those Towpath boots are lovely. I am going to assume they won't fit my calves and please don't try and persuade me otherwise Grin

I like the colours of your top and cardigan UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme. I'm normally wedded to navy as well but a splash of bright makes a nice change.

ParisJeTAime · 16/02/2021 11:32

I don't usually have a problem with knee boots and my calves. I don't know if it's these boots or that I've gained weight, but they are mega tight on the calves! I struggled to get them on first time I wore them, but now they're great. Some of the reviews say the same; people who wear dress size 10 and things sending them back as they wouldn't go on at all! Then one from a size 20 saying they are fine! So, basically, I think it depends on the calves in question, rather than dress size.

They are brilliant for walking. Comfortable and pretty watertight. Really recommend trying and if they go on, even if they feel a bit snug, they might work out! It's the getting them on part which is a struggle. I almost sent mine back, but now I wear them all the time, so I'm glad I didn't!

Thank you - me too! Can't wait until it's warm enough to wear it.

I have several pairs of knee high boots so I really don't need any more! I normally get them from Evans or Simply Be which make them bigger round the calf.

My calves aren't excessively large but if there's any doubt I shall scratch them off the list that I've just added them to Grin

Morning all!

I'm in adidas three stripe leggings, a Uniqlo tshirt and a hoodie, as I'm planning to get out for some exercise in a bit.

Might change when I get back. I have some dresses due to arrive today from Hush as well, so will try those on.

Not a lot else planned today, obviously 😭. Will take the kids for a walk to and play at the park later probably. That's about the height of it! And no wine either 😱, due to my Lenten abstentions!!

Hope everyone else is well xo

A striped multicoloured tunic from Amazon (not rainbow stripes, I don't do them) and my jeans from monsoon that fit me YAY!!!!

ParisJeTAime · 17/02/2021 11:09

Oooooh are they new jeans @Deathraystare, or some you didn't used to be able to get into?

ParisJeTAime · 17/02/2021 16:55

Right, here we are! Excuse blurry pics. Hopefully you can get the idea.

All size 16, from Hush.

Opinions welcome! I'm not convinced by spotty. Love the green one and really like the red one, but not sure it's love...

I like spotty best which I guess doesn't help you!

Divebar2021 · 17/02/2021 21:22

Hey evening. I like the red one best. I have a question .... where in Gods name do you keep all these clothes? I have got rid of bags and bags and I still have clothes spilling over into the spare room and other “ out of season “ clothes stored elsewhere.

In other news I have spoken with my mum ( who lives a couple of hours away so I haven’t seen her since August). She has lost quite a lot of weight since Jan and has gone from a 16 to a 14. She’s now offering me some clothes from her very extensive wardrobe. Unworn as she’s a shopaholic. This includes 5 pairs of wide leg trousers and some dresses I think. I’ve just got to get into a 16 again between now and whenever the rules are relaxed. ( 2 months maybe??). That’s quite an incentive

Divebar2021 · 17/02/2021 21:24

WTF is going on with my posts? 😝

ParisJeTAime · 17/02/2021 21:48

Hahaha I actually don't have that many clothes! I swear, it's true!

I keep an inventory of all my clothes and keep it to around 40 items in my wardrobe, which is quite small! Photographic evidence included 😂, (sorry, it's a bit disorganised today). I don't count things like leggings, vests or sportswear in my 40ish items and I do wear leggings fairly frequently.

I buy a fair bit, but a lot goes back. If it was normal, non covid times, I'd go and try things on in person, but since we are where we are, I have to buy things to try on at home!

I'm sending back spotty, (sorry StC Grin), keeping the others and keeping the black (not goth) boots too.

About a year ago I put a massive bag of really nice clothes in the boot of my car to go to the charity shop. Then lockdown. It's still in the boot today. Dammit. In fact double dammit as I can feel a ruthless streak coming on and I'd quite like to get rid of some more now.

This is another reason I miss my late sister who was the same size, I could foist my hand-me-ups to her (in a reversal of our childhood Grin).

ParisJeTAime · 17/02/2021 22:00

So sorry to hear about your sister stcharlotte Sad. I'm sure you miss her a lot Flowers

I got rid of a bag of clothes recently, via a company called Loopster. They actually gave me some money for clothes, which was amazing. Not a lot. Like £20 or so. Nothing like what they cost when I bought them, but more than I would have got if I'd sent them to recycling iyswim. They don't accept supermarket or what they call "discount stores", (H&M, New Look etc). I had things like an &other stories dress, which I had never worn and which didn't suit me at all. Don't know why I kept it. From before I became a ruthless returner of clothes, clearly!! Anyway, I sent them a bag and they sent me some money on PayPal. Worked well and I like that they will sell them on to someone who might like them!

I could maybe have got more money selling on ebay, but it's a faff sending wee individual bits and pieces all over the place and I don't fancy standing in my post office queue at the moment, if I can help it!

@ParisJeTAime

Saturday Style challenge will be fun for you then with only 40 items to go at. I need to itemise some more items in my app.

Yep I too have got bags sitting there waiting to go to the charity shop. No sister of the same size to pass them onto either. I’m really trying to be discerning about what comes in the house... not always easy when people try to give you stuff.
