We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Oh Paris. Thank you. I showed Dh, and told him how much it is, and unbelievably, he told me to buy it. So I will.
And then I’ll post a photo here, and I know I will get honest answers.

ParisJeTAime · 12/02/2021 19:37

Ah great!! Yes, definitely would like to see a pic when it arrives please Smile!

I like those boots too. They are expensive, but they are perfect.

ParisJeTAime · 12/02/2021 20:10

They are pretty perfect. Need to think about it though. They really are spend. I have been looking for some like them, but still.

ParisJeTAime out of interest what didn't you like about the fabric of the Joannie dresses?

Zebracat I'd never heard of Wrap but lots of the t shirts and tops look nice (not so much the tent dresses...) will be interested to hear what your t shirt is like in reality when you get it.

ParisJeTAime · 12/02/2021 20:52

So, the fabric I think was ok. It really wasn't the main thing that put me off. It was a combination of things.

When I first picked up the leafy one, I thought it felt rough, a bit like some of the scratchier polyesters. BUT, on closer inspection, it was nicer than that, but just not perfect. Add to that, that I wasn't 100% sold on the prints either. The leafy print was nicer than the rabbit one, but the rabbit fabric was nicer! The shape of the leafy one was nicer, but I honestly think I would have needed a top underneath. When I walked around in it, it was really low, like the whole of the middle of my boobs from top to bottom were visible 😂. So, all in all, I just wasn't 100% sold on either of them, although I did like them. I have other dresses in my wardrobe which I think are nicer, which is my sort of benchmark for if I keep something. It has to be nicer or as nice as my existing favourites!

The Portuguese ( I think ) company with the colourful T shirts and sweats. But I can’t remember who I was telling about it. But anyway... here it is. Colourful Standard.

@ParisJeTAime

These caught my eye from Air and Grace but they’re £250. I feel like boots are a better investment than heels for me. They toughen up dresses but I guess they need a slim cropped ( 7/8ths ) trouser? What would you wear yours with.

Divebar2021 · 12/02/2021 21:56

Thank you by the way for the nice comments... My style is actually very hit & miss. I tend to prioritise what I like over what suits me. I’m hoping to have some trying on sessions and outfit creation over the next week.

ParisJeTAime · 12/02/2021 22:00

Oh thanks, yes I like those too!

I am mainly planning to wear mine with skirts and dresses with tights or not depending on weather. I can't imagine them working for me with trousers, although possibly with something cropped or 7/8 length as you say.

@Divebar I have those air and Grace boots. They are just perfect. I love this thread and watch and read with joy, but have never posted. The boots made me do it Smile
I love clothes and mix what I wear, not label bound at all. Solid 16, 14 in parts. But those boots make me feel like a fashionista 😂 get them - they go with everything and are so well made and comfortable. I had a huge wobble about the cost of them but I have worn them pretty much everyday since I bought them in the autumn. Good value!

Divebar2021 · 12/02/2021 22:43

@TaylorSwaft

Shit just what I need.... encouragement!!! 🙄. I’ll consider buying them if you post a picture of you wearing them 😃 ( from the knees down if you’re shy)

FlyingByTheSeatof · 12/02/2021 22:44

I forgot to press post on this hours ago

@Zebracat I love both those tops and love the colours although I know the wrap colour would be too light for me and wouldn't suit me but the Maxmara is my colour.

I've meanwhile been looking at this dress but I think the material may be a bit unforgiving in the green.

@Divebar2021 yes Sweaty Betty fan here. I have the Power leggings in Black, 2 pairs of full length high shine leggings; one in dark cherry the other forest green; one pair of forest green high shine in 7/8 and lastly a pair of super sculpt high waisted yoga leggings full length in black cherry purple with an embossed pattern.

I mainly wear the full length high shine around the house because its a cooling material for me, the black power leggings for when I go outside as it has the pockets and the fact they're black and have more compression and the Super Sculpt for any time I fancy. The 7/8 I'll wear more in the summer as I get cold ankles wearing them at the moment. I'm 5' 6 and the full length are a good full length on me. I bought all of mine when there were offers on.

These SB are currently on offer along with a matching vest top in this pattern only

TaylorSwaft · 12/02/2021 22:46

@Divebar he he sorry not sorry. Okay. Tomorrow though - today I am wearing elderly cat from the knee down 😂

FlyingByTheSeatof · 12/02/2021 22:47

I like both boots a lot but the Whistles ones look quite high up the leg. I wear my similar boots with skinny jeans tucked in.

ParisJeTAime · 12/02/2021 22:57

Yes, they do go quite high... I quite like that though.

I quite like these (Clark's) too... maybe a good and cheaper dupe of the Whistles ones. They do look a little lower as well and they have a zip in the side, which I like as easier to chuck on heading out the door.

And hi @TaylorSwaft!! Welcome to the thread Smile! I have major boot envy EnvyGrin. Those are gorgeous.

Divebar2021 · 12/02/2021 23:19

The problem I have is I have a pair of lace up brogue boots from .... of all places Boden ( sorry Boden fans but it’s not my usual hunting ground) but they’re so uncomfortable I don’t wear them. Maybe I should sell them? 🤔

ParisJeTAime · 12/02/2021 23:35

Oh, that's annoying @Divebar2021! Yes, sell them and buy the other ones Grin

That is another thing I've been considering actually, as reviewers of the Whistles ones says comfy from first wear, whereas the Clark's ones say they take some wearing in... It's fine, I've got leather spray stuff to soften them a bit, but comfy from first wear is tempting! But then I've had DMs before which were murder to begin with and after a few weeks were super comfortable...

Divebar2021 · 13/02/2021 09:22

Morning. I’m just drinking tea and reading a fashion book ( Stylelikeu) and I’m really thinking about my wardrobe and how lacking in versatility it is. A lot of items only go with one other thing or I only wear them one other thing anyway. I thought I might take an underused or unworn item and try and style it 3 ways. Does anyone else want to have a go with me? I’ve not decided what item yet.... I have quite a lot to go at.

ParisJeTAime · 13/02/2021 09:28

Sure! I'll join you. Are you going to pick something you don't wear much or an old favourite? I think the former would be more of a challenge for me!

OP posts:
ParisJeTAime · 13/02/2021 09:45

I've just ordered a few more dresses to try and the Clark's boots to try with them. I love that look, even though I remember it from first time round!

There is a good sale at John Lewis and I found an Alice Temperley Somerset dress which looks nice and then a few from Hush. Hoping I can actually find something I want to keep this time Grin!

OP posts:
Divebar2021 · 13/02/2021 09:45

I think the item you haven’t got to grips with that you know you’re not utilising as much as you could. I have this oversized grey denim jacket that I bought for a trip to Cornwall but haven’t worn since. I think the proportions might be wrong but maybe I need to try that one. Or I might start with a jacket I just got from eBay.

Divebar2021 · 13/02/2021 09:46

A sale at John Lewis you say? 😂
