We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs . Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Yes @StCharlotte! It is infuriating when people who are slimmer, (whether that's been their natural shape forever, or their recently attained weight after dieting), have a pop at overweight people.

We've probably all lost and gained weight at some point. You don't suddenly become bad the moment your bmi edges up over 25 or 30 or 40! And there are so many hidden health conditions which nobody would comment on, because they probably wouldn't know about them!

Weight is so complicated and so tied to emotion, which is why it can be a sore subject. There has also been historic villainisation of fat people, which has ties to other forms of hatred and bigotry. So it is hard not to become defensive even if people claim to be just concerned about health. Because it is tied in with other aspects of fat shaming and personal identity.

ParisJeTAime Ive ordered two cardigans a bit like yours in the last week - one from a German brand (who send their deliveries wrapped only in paper, no plastic) and one from fatface via next.de and both accepted by order then automatically refunded my money due to it not being in stock I'd decided to wear thin jumpers or long sleeved t shirts with cardigans over and wanted more suitable cardigans, but it seems I'm not allowed

I had a zoom interview today so I have on this Karen Millen dress I got recently in the sale for £35 (I still have to go into the office ever other week so can make use of it) and pyjama bottoms on with some fluffy socks!

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme, ugh I hate it when that happens. I've had it with Uniqlo, when the main thing I'd wanted wasn't in stock and I'd just bought other bits to go with it. Ended up having to send the lot back. This cardi is quite old. I dug it out of my loft last week when I was hunting for things to go with the ill-fated Spanx leggings! Found some good stuff so actually, the leggings weren't a total waste of time. And let's face it, I was going to buy them at some point, even if just to rule them out.

My Joanie dresses have arrived! I'm scared to open/try on, but I will and will post pics for approval or otherwise, (unless they don't go on, in which case they'll be going back of course)!

The leafy one is a bit too low cut I think. I'm not totally comfortable in it. The waistband feels snug on it but wearable I think.

The sizing on their website is clearly bullshit. I measured my waist yesterday and by their sizing on the site I must be a 24 or thereabouts? These are both 18s. I can usually wear a 16 in dresses though so do think you may need to size up.

Ooh Paris I really like both of those dresses.

I can see why you might be concerned about the low neck on the green one but it's such a nice shape - they both are - I'd keep it. And flaunt!

(Clothes sizing is a law unto itself isn't it? I find it more annoying when the same shop is inconsistent.)

Ah thanks @StCharlotte! I think I'm going to keep them. The colour of the rabbit one looks nicer in person I would say. In the photo it is very grey, but it is more purpley blue. The leafy one I can always wear a crop top under.

ParisJeTAime I also like both dresses - its good to hear the sizing isn't entirely different to all other retailers! Why on earth put a size chart which bears no relation to the size of their own dresses on their own website though! That has to be terrible marketing if nothing else...

Yeah the shape is really nice on you.... I don’t think the second one is too low cut either. I actually like it better on you than I did the model.

I’ve been scrutinising the size charts of all my favourite brands ..... Cos. Arket. Monki & Weekday. They’re all different. The biggest waist size they had was a 34” which they said was for a size 18 / 20. I think that was Weekday. The others went down to 32” for an 18. I’m so confused

Ah DD will be delighted if I find something on H&M online as she gets points (its her online shop of choice and she "refered" me, so I signed up via her link but didn't order anything - sges nearly 16 :) ). Thanks FlyingByTheSeatof I will look that cardigan up (I did try under different search terms but didn't see anything, sometimes you just can't find something for lack of the right search term on big sites though).

ParisJeTAime I put that fern dress, a bright steipy wrap dress and the cable knit cardigan in a Joannie shopping basket last night thanks to you but it looks as though its one of those retailers which deletes your basket contents if you don't checkout within a time frame so that's saved me from myself! I think I still might order them, but will wait til spring! It was minus 11°C in the middle of the day here yesterday...

Going to try to get myself and the kids biometric passport photos today, as its occurred to me we might not be able to gwt back into the UK now if anything happened to my parents and we needed to go quickly - for the last 4 years we have just all travelled on German ID cards, but it's unclear whether that's still possible now and its certainly not going to be after October...

Who was it showing us jeans the other day please? I will have a look back in a minute, but it clears my message if I do that on my phone! Whoever it was, thanks, I've bought the same jeans in a lighter shade! What do you lot think? Excuse weird pose, A) my tattoo shows and is outing so had to cut off my feet and B), my camera is giving me a strange shadow which is not there in person and looked a lot like a target over my crotch area 😂😂. So had to twist a bit!

German H&M only have lockerer gestrickt cardigans (why do they use the English word cardigan? ) in black, which is the colour I already have ... but 9.99€ with 10% off so it'd be almost rude not to get one... Also ordered another light blue cardigan which came up as an alternative suggestion.

ParisJeTAime I'm just unfashionable/ out of touch with jeans styles I guess - I was unanamously outvoted when the three different jeans styles were posted, so I don't think my opinion is relevant! I think they look too big for you

thanks @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme!! They are perfect on the waist, but big on the legs, but that's more the style than sizing issue I think... Hmmm I'll give them some thought. I almost got wee'ed on today by my preschooler, so that would have been the decision made for me 😂😬🙈.

I got 36" waist @FlyingByTheSeatof. They do seem to fit ok, so good to know for future there, even if I send these ones back!

I generally prefer darker jeans, but have a few pairs of darker jeggings for winter. Thought these might make a bit of a change for springtime...but maybe these are not the right ones.

Morning. I’m yet again sat in active wear but I did have a London day yesterday.... finally my teddy coat got the temperatures it was designed for. I wore a pair of “ lay-dee “ trousers that I got in the sale ( reduced from £120 to £36... very pleased) which are pleated, wide leg and full length. I can’t even remember when I wore trousers like that. They’re drapey but flattering. I wore them with a navy cashmere sweater. I ended up wearing with oxblood ankle boots and a snakeprint cross body bag. I’m not mentioning the backpack lest it ruins the image. 😛. 2 of my 4 eBay purchases arrived. One a pair of navy slim wool trousers from Cos which I got for £4 which i can actually get on but are a wee bit tight on the bum at the moment. The other was a modernist lightweight “ jacket” in a pale grey / stone colour - also from Cos which I think I paid £19 for which is a little wide for my shape so I think I’ll get it altered. It’s the kind of thing I’d wear in spring when I don’t want to brave it out without a top layer or I want to cover my bum. I’m pleased though .... eBay is a lottery.

I’m off for half term next week ( I have leave I have to take) so hoping for a good wardrobe sort out and to get some stuff listed on Depop. What’s everyone else up to?

My friend messaged yesterday and asked me which jeans I got as she wanted to get some and I didn’t really want to tell her 😂. How bad do I sound? My mum buys a lot of the same stuff I get too. ( and also went on my honeymoon as just her yearly holiday. ) clearly I’m a bitch.

Ah you must have a style people want to emulate then @Divebar2021! Which I suppose is a compliment, although I can also appreciate why you wouldn't want to have matching jeans with your mum and friend! I wouldn't like that anyway.

I think if I size down, they'd be too tight on the waist annoyingly. Hmmm think they'll have to go back (booo)!
