Plus size chat / what are you wearing today sort of thread?

We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs . Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Grrr my phone is playing up. Pair 2 have no stretch and are uncomfortable but I like the look and the length makes sense. Pair three high waisted and straight leg are comfortable but what shoes? I get Birkenstock’s in summer but now? The length is weird.

As a point of reference I bought M&S magic jeans about 2 months ago but haven’t worn them because they’re too long to my mind. I’m imaging they will be my classic “ lay-dee “ jeans. And if you’re not bored rigid this was the look that prompted me to look at wider legs. Obviously the ones in the picture are cropped. What do you think? Maybe number 1?

Inwas gping to say I like 2 best, then 3, I'd send 1 back... but I am not a fashion guru by any stretch. I don't think 1 flatter you - they're like the too baggy jeans I was wearing way up thread...
I think baggy everywhere only works on cery, very thin people, and even then only if they don't have curves, because they essentially hide everything, which only complements the skeletal.

The 4th pair wouldn't be too long with heeled ankle boots, but I'm not sure whether those are currently considered unfashionable or not!

I'm not saying this to be contrary, but I like the 1st pair the best! But, I think we must be quite different shapes and I can't wear that shape, so am maybe projecting what I want to wear on to you!

I think, with you being hour glass, do you have slim ankles? I imagine the first pair with a turn up would look amazing.

Oh good. Consensus. 😂. The magic ones would be ok with heels but I don’t really wear heels anymore... so that’s just about me not the style. I’m tempted by 1 but maybe if I lob the ends a bit because I think I’m finding the length kind of in No mans land. Number 3 might also work for me if I did that too... I just feel a bit weird chopping up new jeans.

Obviously all of me is verrrrrrrrry shapely 😉. All of it in the derrière.

@Divebar2021 I like the first darker pair best. I they look great on you and give you the relaxed cool look / vibe you're after imho. They a good cut. I'm not into the other two at all.

The length will definitely work once you've got trainers on or sandals it's the perfect length imho so no need to lob any off

My delivery today has just been 20 pairs of size 16 black M&S midi knickers I always buy a few multi packs at once then replace once they start to fall apart after a few years which they've currently all started to do at once so at least they're consistent.

also looking at Monki for those jeans now, even though I know they won't suit me 😭

Hey. Back from my bike ride... thanks for the feedback ladies. I’m going on gut instinct and your comments. The first jeans are Kyo from Monki. They are in size 36 ( sadly). Here is the charming model. I always discounted Monki assuming they wouldn’t do my size but a lot of their shapes are oversized. I look out for the cotton items. These jeans are organic & recycled cotton and quite a good weight.

Which jeans did you keep @divebar2021. Hmmm I'm scared to try my jeans on, lockdown has not had a positive effect on me 😬

Actually wearing clothes.. Were going to my best friends house. We've all isolated for 2 weeks and they're the only people we've seen since June.

This is an old dress I found on a tk max clearance rail for £10 about 15 years ago. I love how long the sleeves are. Black vest under, black thick denier snags, Jack skellington hoody, and new dm boots in comic print style

@Divebar2021 I think I like the first ones, definitely love the M&S ones. The first pair don't look as dark as the model pic though. I also have the footwear issue. I'm not going anywhere at the
Mo so usually wearing my practical trainers when I'm out for a walk & fitflops all summer. I have brown mock croc DMs which work ok but would like a pair of fitflop comfort level slip on & off winter shoes/boots.

I found an old Primark jumper in the loft it's a long past the bum, thin knit, light grey 100% cotton (I was expecting it to be acrylic or something like that) with two large black swallows on the front with long sleeves must be 10 years old and I'm loving wearing it. It's just what I need right now so I'm delighted.

The rest of the clothes in the bag are going to charity though as they're total crap. I've got more vacuum packed bags of clothes up there which I really should investigate. Lots are far to small but I live in hope

My DD 13 who is a size 4 is now wearing some of my old clothes (Pre DC) which are a size 8 how depressing at least I had good timeless taste I guess at points

Don’t you just love it when you find something you forgot you had? I’ve come across a zipped container of trousers and jeans. Some of them I have no memory of. Low rise jeans ( remember those? ) Wrangler boot cut jeans, Levi’s ....🤷‍♀️ Revolting pink 7/8ths trousers. ( more Pepto Bismol than Richmond sausages ) I’m going to continue on my fitness plan and see if I can get into any of them down the road and then I’ll show you...

I love this outfit! Where did you get the jacket?

My coated leggings have arrived. My first ever Jeggings. I love them. They are high waisted. The navy is as dark as the black, which I'm really happy about. I couldn't tell them apart at first. I'll be wearing them all the time outside instead of jeans for a while.

Right, my Spanx have arrived. They feel great! Very holdy inny (technical term). Thick and comfortable. The waist band is high and it does suck everything in.

My only hesitation is that I'm not sure how to style them! Looking at Pinterest for inspiration. I'm especially struggling with footwear! Thinking maybe ankle boots or some almost flat, but with a low wedge, black, suede shoes I have..?
