We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

I am wearing my new M&S Jeans (Mom style) in a 20. They fit but may be a bit too roomy, but I tried an old pair I had in an 18 and they did not get past my thighs!

I am wearing them with a light blue shirt style stretchy top from (I think) Marla Wynn at QVC.

Doh! Forgot picture.

Ah @Deathraystare, M&S sizing is bananas. No rhyme or reason!

Oh that's a great tunic, especially for garden centre @StCharlotte! I haven't bought anything this week which makes a change Blush. Not much planned for this evening. I'm tired and DH has the day off, so I'm seriously considering a nap today Grin. Too much housework to do though, booo!

Hello all. I haven’t posted a single outfit yet - mainly because I haven’t made it out of loungewear. Today was running tights and I actually went out and ran a little bit in them ( just started Couch to 5k). They were M&S and I don’t recommend them. I was wondering if anyone has any style inspiration that they like to peruse? I’ve discovered a style editor whose style I love although I’m about 4 inches shorter and 5 stone heavier. I’m blonde too so all in all she’s perfect. Confused ( Just love her look though). I haven’t really found any plus size inspiration sadly. Anyone else got any style crushes?

StCharlotte · 29/01/2021 19:12

Zoom drinks cancelled. Again. Particularly flaky bunch. So out-out top still festering in wardrobe. Boo.

ParisJeTAime · 29/01/2021 19:20

Ah boo @StCharlotte! That's a disappointment. Yes, we kept arranging drinks during the first lockdown and we always cancelled. Got to the point we just said "shall we arrange to have drinks which we'll cancel at the last minute as usual?" Grin

Not much happening here. Grumpy 3 yo is in bed already, which is earlier than usual. Watching some awful Netflix kids program with dd now. Probably won't stay up much later than she does!

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme yes that's really flattering. I love a black cardi because they create a slimming effect whatever you wear underneath. I wear a grey cardi in the summer. I really like the bottoms too.

Deathraystare · 30/01/2021 16:03

Today I am wearing a lovely printed top (I think so!) from Butler and Wilson. I have lusted after some of their tops for ages but most contain Viscose which I cannot wear. I am wring it with my blue M&S 'Mom' (hate that word!) jeans. Although the jeans are very roomy around the thighs, I don't want to exchange them for an 18. They are not falling down but also not strangulating my pubic bone. Result!

buckeejit · 30/01/2021 16:28

I really want to join in but I can't seem to be bothered wearing anything but comfies & I don't have any nice comfies to post!

I find myself in lazy shopping mode today, after 4 hours of married at first sight Australia. I've so far bought a cheap mustard leather mock croc cross body bag-been on the lookout for years for a nice mustard leather bag for years & they are eluding me! And some gold ball stud earrings.

I would like a pair of high waisted jeans in brown or black. I'm pear shaped so not sure what shape of jeans apart from not skinny is preferable. Also after a wide part elasticated belt if anyone can point me in the direction of any?

May attempt to remove 5 items of clothing from my wardrobe today as something to achieve.

ParisJeTAime · 30/01/2021 16:33

@buckeejit, I'm in comfies today too! Haven't taken a picture, as I'm currently lodged in the sofa with dcs. It is a miserable, rainy day here today, so we haven't left the house! Have been trying to do screen free, energy burning activities in the house, but I'm done now! Dc2 is watching twirlywoos and dc1 and I have just been reading James and The Giant Peach. Will get on spin bike later, to wake me up a bit!

@Deathraystare, I love mom jeans! I don't think I suit them, but I'm Envy you've found some which suit you Smile!

I was wearing black Dare2B walking trousers (size 18) over uniqlo thermals with a grey and white cardigan (no idea where from) earlier. Bright neon red Decathlon snowboarding coat over the top and mint green hiking shoes when outside GrinBlush

I've got this weekend off and I've been for two walks in the rain and cut DH's hair with clippers, not much else! One walk was with DH and the other alone to get eggs from a farm in the next village.

I tried starting a Tana French novel as someone on the books board said they're a bit like the Strike novels (which I loved) but I absolutely hated the first two pages of the Tana French and couldn't bring myself to read on 😳 Really visceral reaction 🤔😳 oh well, at least I bought it second hand...

No photo as I didn't take one and I'm no just in the thermals (including uniqlo heattech rollneck jumper/top).

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 30/01/2021 16:48

We had liads of snow for all of January but it warmed up by five degrees and started raining two days ago and hasn't stopped.

ParisJeTAime · 30/01/2021 16:51

I get that occasionally with books @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme! Life's too short for awful books, so I give them a fair go and then chuck them (well, donate them...or just leave them on my shelf till I can get to the charity donation bin, but you know).

Well done for getting out for walks. I should do the same really, but I've got comfy here and cba to convince dd to change out of her princess dress (it is like a flower girl dress, which she decided to wear today) and get out of the house. But I will. In a minute.

It's so disappointing reading a meh book. I give it 5 pages and then try one in the middle, I absolutely loved 'The Thursday murder club' I'm currently reading 'The family upstairs' as my murder mystery light reading. And of course 'Wolf Hall' on Audible books which is brilliant as mentioned previously.

I'm just wearing my usual of SB leggings, black M&S T-shirt and Oodie.

We had a busy day doing banal stuff and now I'm waiting for my dough to prove whilst watching 'Flesh and Blood' on ITV hub. Great cast so I'm enjoying it

ParisJeTAime · 30/01/2021 17:14

I just finished The Thursday Murder Club @FlyingByTheSeatof! I also loved it. Really fun and lighthearted (although dealing with murder..) without being stupid. I really enjoyed it.

I've just started The Shipping News by Annie Proulx. I'm about 100 pages in. It took a bit of adjustment going from Richard Osman's easy going chatty style of writing to this, which is quite different, but I am enjoying it a lot.

@ParisJeTAime I chose The Family Upstairs as it's quite a similar style to TTMC

I like the C J Samson novels too. The Shardlark series.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 30/01/2021 17:21

I've read sll the Wolfe Hall books - I hate audio books, though I know some people said they do too usually but the Wolfe Hall ones are better. I don't think I read in a way easily replaced by an Audiobook, bif that makes sense - I did an English lit degree a million years ago and read a lot faster than the voice on an audio book. More importantly I'm very easily irritated and generally grumpy and Audio books just annoy me!

I finished the Starless Sea yesterday and absolutely loved it, but I think reading Erin Morgenstern's other book straight away would be too much and put me off again... I am also 3/4 of the way through We Need to Talk about Kevin so I guess I'll finish that - its my e-reader book for night shifts, and I like to read paper books at home...

ParisJeTAime · 30/01/2021 17:31

Yes, @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme, that is exactly why I like paper books and don't like audiobooks; I feel like audiobooks take forever, which is weird, as I don't think of myself as a sober reader really! I also hate some of the voices they do. I tried listening to one and the actor doing all the character was a woman. One of her male voices was completely nuts. Sounded like Popeye, which was hilarious because he was a sailor! It had some serious subject matter, so I'm really glad I bailed on the audiobook and read the paper version!

But, for some reason, the Wolf Hall ones seem to lend themselves well to being read aloud. Maybe it's the actor who reads them, or maybe it's Mantell's beautiful way of writing, (which I didn't get on with until the audiobooks, which is weird too). But I loved it so much and walked miles listening to Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies last year. I still haven't got through the last one actually, as I sort of know the end is nigh for him and not sure I want to witness it, even though he isn't exactly a nice guy!

Thanks for those recommendations @FlyingByTheSeatof Flowers

Speed reader! Not sober reader Grin. Wtf autocorrect? Although, maybe I read better drunk. Who knows?!

I find the font far too small to read in my copy of Wolf Hall so I can't focus properly. My current books are hardback and have a larger font

QueenPawPaws · 30/01/2021 20:35

Wearing a new v neck tunic jumper thing. Recommend if you are top heavy, it's long, fits nicely and isn't itchy
Jeans are next hypercurve

Can't stop online window shopping - nothing else to do!
I thought this could be another good dress for work when I finally get back to the office. I work in financial services but not customer facing. The dress code is casual but I prefer to still wear business dress. Partly because it puts me in the "mood" for work but also because I prefer to keep my casual clothes separate.
