We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).
@MustardMitt I love the trench coat. I have a large bust and belly too and I find having something stretch material around the busy and loose fitting everywhere else helps.
Thanks! I think I’m going to keep it. I don’t really like long coats - and tbh I’ve actually owned a vintage long trench and it just didn’t suit me.

Love that dress you’re wearing. I used to wear lots of things like that but have just fallen out of love with the style I guess.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 27/01/2021 06:27

LordOfTheOnionRings I'm an apple - fairly classic apple shape I think (shoulders broader than hips, waist not small, hips not especially big, small bum, F/G cup bra size. I don't know whether I have "good" legs but they have defined shape. I'm not as curvey as you and can end up looking rectangular.

I was wearing a Karen Milan dress when I met DH but that was 20 years and 3 kids ago!

The last dress I really loved was a maternity wrap dress 🤣

Deathraystare · 27/01/2021 08:19

A red and white patterned top from Bon March and some Julian Macdonald trousers which are fab, have a look of silver on the zips and stuff and fir very well. I got them a few years ago from Debenhams.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 27/01/2021 09:06

Mint Velvet girlfriend jeans, size 16
Red sports vest top - vivance aktiv size 48
Black longsleeved plain 100% organic cotton T-Shirt - Cecil basics
Cheap muted purple cardigan bought in a German supermarket about 12 years ago GrinBlush

Layers today - very cold and snowy outside and need/ want to walk (I could drive, but Multitasking!) to dc3's school to drop off work before I go to work myself for a 20 hour shift... (his teacher is under the impression all her pupils are only children with sahm I think, her requirements are very high maintanance - we have to collect packs in person at random inflexible times as well as using three different online platforms, some work must be submitted digitally (usually tests, which they have most days) and longer pieces of writing have to be handed into school at set times, always on the day they're set before 1pm... Its a big rural catchment so school is 4 km away, further for some children).

I live the jeans but actually they just look slobby in the photo BlushConfused

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 27/01/2021 09:10

Necklace I've had about 9 years, can't remember where its from but its a bauble shaped locket which folds out with space for 5 photos.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 27/01/2021 09:53

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme I've got jeans similar to yours which I was constantly wearing but like you realised they're not particularly flattering. That's why I bought my Sweaty Betty leggings which seem to make me look 2 sizes smaller. However for cold snowy days like yours at least the jeans are comfy and you can wear thermals underneath. But I'll wear skinny jeans when I'm actually seeing friends etc. You wear similar clothes to me actually and have the same shape and hair as me.

I've come to realise that more fitted clothes are better and far more flattering like @ParisJeTAime wears for instance.

ParisJeTAime · 27/01/2021 11:25

I do tend to wear something fitted. So, my straight leg jeans look more flattering if I turn them up and show my wee skinny ankles Grin. The only wee skinny part I own! If I wear fitted jeggings and a fitted top, I need to have a longer, fitted layer underneath, (which is why I love the old longline, fitted tank tops from M&S, which I can no longer find on there Sad), and usually long boots over the top. So usually not all fitted but never all oversize either.

Not dressed yet Blush. I keep sleeping in and I don't know why! I keep waking up all sweaty which is weird (and gross, sorry). I have cut out WineGin over the past few days and still getting it. No idea what's going on. Anyone been through perimenopause?? Is this it? I'm 37 so it could be.

Anyway, kids and dh are showered and dressed but I haven't had time, so will have to wait to post outfit, which I will.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 27/01/2021 12:22

We keep sleeping in as well this week @ParisJeTAime which is hard as both DC need to be online from 9am participating in online lessons all day.
We've hit a wall I think and all suddenly feel a bit meh here.
But even in normal circumstances mid January is always a bit shit really lets face it but sadly we can't even go to a cosy pub at the weekends to cheer us up.

I started listening to Wolf Hall on Audible books which is brilliant. The font is too small in the book I have and dauntingly long so I'm pleased to finally experience it. I've down loaded the next two books too.

I'm wearing leggings, hoodie and yesterday's uniqlo T-shirt.

ParisJeTAime · 27/01/2021 12:29

I hated those paper books, but adored the audiobooks! Really funny, as I don't normally like audiobooks. There is also a program on BBC of the first two books I think @FlyingByTheSeatof.

Yes, maybe it is the January wall and not menopause then! It is horrible at the moment. Can't go anywhere and I swear to God if I do another local walk I might cry Grin.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 27/01/2021 13:09

I just went to hang up the washing and both teen DC have fallen asleep during their lunch break. Makes me feel sad to see them like this.

ParisJeTAime · 27/01/2021 13:58

Sad @FlyingByTheSeatof

It is horrible. Praying things will start to get better soon. It's probably easier to motivate little ones tbh, as I just put some music on and the three yo will dance along or put out a game or building toys and they will do it.

Weird outfit today, sorry. I was trying on all my new things. Decided to keep most of it. Two dresses are going back to Asos and the What Katie Did bra, which was comically bad. I almost want to post a pic as it is so bad. But, it's a bra and it looks HORRENDOUS, so I won't!! Spare your eyes Grin

Tshirt dress, 18T, asos
Snags, E

I only had one week's leave in 2020 and it pissed with rain Sad

I did have a long break over Christmas. Obviously didn't do much and almost every day I was out for the count on the sofa by 5pm. I needed that rest very badly.

I hit a wall last week and struggled but fortunately my work hours are fixed so I had to get up and going.

I feel so bereft for the young ones - especially the teenagers.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 27/01/2021 14:05

My teens have to be online at 7:30am and the pre-teen at 8am - they're all done by 1pm though (that's their normal school day and same online). There are pros and cons but overall I think its better than the school day dragging over all the daylight hours! I have my alarm set for 6:55 to wake everyone, but its a lie in as when school is non digital the older two catch a bus at 6:30am and the youngest at 7am.

I have to be up at 5am tomorrow as its my day to sleep at work and need to be up, dressed and working by 6am.

I'd rather stay in bed, but I think having no choice but to get up and going early has psychological/ mental health advantages.

This thread is turning out to be so useful for me, I'm getting spme real insight into what would work better! Even though I "look" in the mirror when I'm dressed I don't really see what I look like. Taking photos is quite an eye opener, and feedback more so! Thank you everyone!

ParisJeTAime · 27/01/2021 14:25

That makes sense re early nights / early starts and mental health. I feel much better doing that. DH seems to be the opposite and has never really adjusted to earlier starts. Now there is no need for him to do his commute and no need for us to take dd to school in the mornings, we are all staying up a bit later and sleeping in!

Anyway, at least clothes make me happy. I have 2 lovely new skirts and a dress from Thought plus two dresses...although now I'm considering keeping one of the others from asos. The bra was the priciest thing on there and I'm sending that back which is good. Feel better about keeping the others Smile

Btw, I think I mentioned earlier that I'd sent some clothes to Loopster which pays you a small amount for used clothes. They don't take supermarket clothes or anywhere like H&M or Primark, but I had some things like a dress from &other stories which I hadn't worn as I got too fat for it before I had the chance Blush. And a jumper dress Phase Eight which swamped me (bizarre as, as we have established, I am not small)! Sent a few things to them and they gave my £20. I'm sure I could've got more on ebay but it can be such a faff. I was just relieved to get rid of them! So the money is a bonus.

Excitingly, I have a job interview today, so I won't post my outfit, in case on of you is interviewing me Grin. But, I will say that my 6yo said I looked beautiful, (with no prompting). So used to seeing me in my cosies atm Blush.

OP posts:
Deathraystare · 28/01/2021 10:26

At work wearing a new Primark, in light blue and some Primark navy jeggings. I don't normally wear jumpers but I thought it would be cold. Unfortunately although we have air conditioning we share it with another room who are obsessed with heating. They claim the patients demand it but I believe it is the staff!!

Deathraystare · 28/01/2021 10:31

@ParisJeTAime

Congratulations on your job! Please remember not to wear your nightwear at your job!!!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 28/01/2021 11:07

ParisJeTAime good luck with your interview! 🍀 Is it zoom type or in person?

I'm wearing my jumper dress (tan/ camel type colour) over skinny jeans with so much stretch they're essentially jeggings. I'm afraid I've come to the conclusion it makes me look like Divebar 's richmond sausage, only cooked though - so I'm not posting a photo. Its comfortable, completely easy to move in, and warm though, and I've just got home from work.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 28/01/2021 11:29

Good luck @ParisJeTAime

ParisJeTAime · 28/01/2021 11:41

Thank you! I did remember not yo wear pyjamas thankfully Grin.

I think it went ok, except that I think I maybe talked a bit too much Blush.

It was in person as it is somewhere still open during lockdown.

Dark green cargo trousers (new) - Cecil - sold like jeans by waist size in inches - 34 (German brand)
Black polo neck - George at Asda, size 18
Thin black cardigan - New Look, size 18, bought when we still lived in the UK so at least 14 years ago!

Better, I think?

Still awaiting my Violeta goodies
