We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

@Thedarknightsaredrawingin I'm in Fife. You'll need to change your user name - it was definitely lighter at 5pm this evening!

Thedarknightsarelifting · 25/01/2021 19:03

You are right @AlwaysReadyForABlether!

ParisJeTAime · 25/01/2021 19:16

Cute outfit @Thedarknightsaredrawingin! That's lovely. You have a great shape!

Not there anymore, but we were in Edinburgh for two years, Aberdeen for one. Ages ago now! I miss it a lot though. I grew up in Ulster, now near London. I'd love to go back to Scotland though! Some day maybe!

I'm in NW England. We havent had haggis
as i forgot all about Burns Night till today and couldnt be bothered going to the shops.

Grin Smile poster on another thread cheered me right up with her tartan bunnet emojis. Aren't they marvellous?

Thedarknightsarelifting · 25/01/2021 20:17

@ParisJeTAime I’m more blob than shape sadly. We can have a Scottish plus thread meet up in 2026!

@BonnieDundee those are fabulous!!!

BonnieDundee · 25/01/2021 20:21

You just put in the smiley and add tb between the bracket and the emoji. I love them Grin

I am clearly a twit Blush

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 25/01/2021 20:39

Honest opinions please! This is the red dress from John Lewis. It's very different for me but I think I like it. You just need to imagine shoes!
And - bonus - it has pockets!

Thanks for the comments. So far as colouring is concerned my best colours are strong light blue and red. I'm a blue-eyed greying blonde.

I can't wear black tops or dresses any more and I have a very lovely dark navy dress from Monsoon which is a bit too dark unless I break it up with a big necklace that I have. Might wear it tomorrow actually.

Ordered this top today. Ridiculously excited as I haven't bought anything for months.

Can't believe I've just done this. When looking for the "Aurelia" blouse for a picture for my above post, this "Aurelia" dress came up. So I've ordered that too Blush

In my defence, I have a wedding to go to this summer (fingers crossed).

@AlwaysReadyForABlether

Love that dress! (And just my colour Wink)

It looks great on you. Very chic.

ParisJeTAime · 25/01/2021 20:50

@AlwaysReadyForABlether, love the dress!

@StCharlotte, we sound like similar colouring! I occasionally get away with black on my top half, but, like you and your navy, I need to break it up with a big necklace or a collared shirt underneath.

Want to try those amazing emojis Grin

Love this dress too! I am going to try on my most recent purchases later...or perhaps tomorrow. I have my new toy to play with, so may have to be tomorrow, (the spin bike thingy, I mean...not that kind of toy WinkBlush).

@thedarknightsarelifting try [ tbsmile] without the gap between the bracket and the t

StCharlotte · 25/01/2021 21:00

@ParisJeTAime

We have a cross trainer and a new rowing machine (that was fun to assemble!).

The idea is to do 15 mins on each when I get up but an extra half hour in bed is irresistible at the moment. Must change that mindset...

ParisJeTAime · 25/01/2021 21:08

I said I was going to do an hour every night on the bike. DS (3 yo) has clearly suspected this and is sabotaging me by refusing to go to bed! Apparently he is "finished with bed". He is in the living room getting out his jigsaws to play with. Sweet mother Mary.

Rowing machine sounds awful to put together. Bike was alright in the end, it was just so heavy, so having to lift it to screw various parts in was a workout before I even sat on it! No audible squeaking though, so think I did the screws tight enough 🤞

Loving the pics - I've not got a full length mirror. Must sort that!!

Does anyone have a big overhang tummy and is an expert at dressing it? I'm a short dumpy 16 and my tummy is my nemesis.

I'm wfh at the moment so after comfy long jumpery type things I think

Also - knickers! None of the knickers I have can contain my tummy and I'm desperate for new ones!

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 26/01/2021 07:22

Hmm now everyone's saying not to wear black and I came on to post a picture of the black mint velvet Giraffe print shirt I have on today - my 9 year old and I like it Grin Mint Velvet 18, jeans same as yesterday.

ParisJeTAime you have my sympathy on the non sleeping 3 year old! My youngest barely slept for years, and I coped by replacing sleep with sugar (bad idea, obviously!)

Blether I love the colour of that dress but am not sure about the big belt/ sash and whether combined with the buttons down the front it looks a tiny bit reminiscent of a very beautiful dressing gown - feel free to ignore me though as I am largely clueless!

StCharlotte · 26/01/2021 08:17

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme

The only reason I don't wear black anymore is as I've aged, it drains the colour from my face and makes me look deathly. I love black!

I think the "dressing gown" problem with the red dress was seeing it with bare feet. Dressed up with shoes or boots I'm sure that effect would diminish.

Meanwhile they're playing Back to Black on the radio Grin

ParisJeTAime · 26/01/2021 08:48

I also love black blether. It just isn't one of "my" colours. I can get away with it occasionally, but it does nothing for my skin tone. Makes it look redder somehow... Confused. Thanks, DS is usually pretty good and loves his sleep. DD was my non sleeper! Don't know what got into him yesterday. He did go in the end and I did a spin class on YouTube and some extra bits. It was actually ready hard. Way harder than running! I stupidly thought cycling was meant to be easier Blush.

I will stop using those emojis, I swear... oh just one more Grin.

How was everyone's Burns night? Did you all declaim Burns and enjoy haggis?

@Thedarknightsarelifting, I love your new username! Accurate. I feel as if it is lighter in the evenings now.

@Workyticket, yes, I have a post c section tummy! It is my worst bit. Pants, I love M&S high waist full briefs (they aren't as ugly as they sound) and size down. Maybe a few sizes, unless you are blessed with a Kim K bum! They fall down otherwise. I also wear light control pants quite a lot. I like Sloggi, but they are £££, so I also wear some light control shorts from Tu. Usually I go for ongline on my top half, straight leg jeans, a line skirts (with tshirts tucked in or a bit shorter- only time I don't wear longline), smock dresses, skater dresses or tea dresses. That's my uniform Smile.

OP posts:
ParisJeTAime · 26/01/2021 09:10

Here I am in an example of my uniform!

Jeggings, M&S, 18
Longline vest, M&S, 14
Navy v neck top, Uniqlo, XL
Necklace, independent jeweler local to me. They design and make their own things, which I love as you get something a bit different.

I will add an oversized (mens) woolen jumper, also from Uniqlo. I prefer mens for the extra length in the body and sleeves. So cosy! Will wear with my Seasalt towpath, brown knee boots.

Just re-ordered some Nanoblur for Zoom purposes (was out of stock for ages funnily enough!) and I notice they do a range of colour corrector ones now.

I will be back in leggings and Uggs today - was a bit cold yesterday. Really need spring now. No, make that NOW!

Oh thanks! I use a green primer under my BB cream. I'm on all the meds for rosacea as well, so it's ok at the moment. I've never tried nano blur. Will have to give it a whirl!

I want spring toooooooo ! I've got my skirts and dresses all ready to go!
