We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

Ooh can I join in please, I'm wearing Asda stretchy jeans which are lush, so comfy - and a good fit as they have Lycra in, and a very old Sainsbury's jumper. I am size 18 and 5'4". I really want to revamp my wardrobe and look a bit smarter but am quite poor, also have a physically active job so need to be practical, and spend a lot of time dog walking etc. I do feel a bit as if I've let myself go, so ideas/inspiration would be great.

ParisJeTAime · 09/01/2021 11:24

Very welcome tinkywinky!

Yes, my clothes tend to be quite practical at the moment too, as I don't have anywhere to go at the moment!

I'm a SAHM and I was already a bit short on places to go which needed anything other than jeans or leggings. Now, with lockdown etc, I don't go anywhere other than local walks really. So, jeggings and long boots are becoming a bit of a uniform Blush.

But, I've decided to invest in naice, practical things. Nothing £££, but things like lambswool jumpers from the Uniqlo sale and decent leather boots for walking. I'm also trying to stick to a colour palette which I know suits me, so I need fewer things, as they can mix and match a bit more, rather than having loads of different colours.

I've just ordered a big warm coat in the Lands End sale as well, which I'm looking forward to getting. It's a blue long puffy thing with a hood. Hopefully fits with the 'naice but practical' aesthetic I am aiming for!

Today I'm wearing adidas three stripe navy leggings (16-18), a long line baby blue t shirt dress thing from Asos (18) and a longline navy hoody dress thing, also Asos (18). A bit sporty today, but I don't think I'm a total scruff bag in it. Also I am planning a run later, so it has a purpose!

I'm a 24 which isn't ideal, but it is what it is for the moment.
Today I'm wearing some thick black leggings, a tunic top from Yours and some nice brown calf length boots from Evans.
I would really like to invest in some naice pieces, but kinda feel I can't justify the expense until I've shrunk a bit.

Minky37 · 09/01/2021 12:08

Placemarking as have covid so I’m in pj’s and a massive cardigan.
If I wasn’t, I like Next harem pants, George wonderfit jeans with lots of bright tops.

ParisJeTAime · 09/01/2021 12:12

Welcome Gnome!

I know what you mean. I do think I might lose a bit of weight this year, as I have been making a big effort with diet and exercise.

What I have done is to invest in things which I will suit at a smaller size too. Like oversized jumpers, stretchy leggings and boots.

Oh God you poor think minky! Hope you are ok Flowers

Hi all!

I haven't posted what I'm wearing today as it's rather boring! Same hoody dress as yesterday, with navy, Sinophant leggings and longjohns (yes really) underneath. So cold here again! I've just had a walk to the supermarket for meals for the next few days.

A top arrived from M&S which is a longline relaxed fit t shirt which was £7.50 in their sale. Also got some straight leg jeans from there, but haven't tried them on yet.

I am an 18 top 16 bottom and short dumpy apple but I am wearing my beloved khaki combats from next about 4 years ago rolled up, a black shell/vest top that I made myself and my scabby black hoody that came from Freemans I think about 3 years ago, winning no fashion awards but it's almost clean but very comfy 🤣

MustardMitt · 10/01/2021 23:57

I’m 5ft 4 and probably kidding myself that I’m still a size 20 post Christmas and lockdown!

I’m in such a rut - 90% of the time I’m wearing either pyjamas or lounging clothes, if I have to go out it’s Hush harem pants, t-shirt, long line cardi and a scarf. Don’t know if I’ve worn anything different in months.

ParisJeTAime · 11/01/2021 10:32

Hi @GreyHare and @MustardMitt! Welcome aboard!

I gained at least a dress size last year. It's been a tricky year. Trying not to get too down about the weight gain.

Anyway, I've been for a run and done some yoga this morning. I can't say I'll suddenly drop the couple of stone (or more) I probably need to lose, but at least I can try to be the healthiest version of my large self that I can manage. So healthy eating and more exercise are what I'm aiming for. Proper dieting never works for me. I gain it all back with interest! So I want to change habits and just be as healthy as possible.

Anyway, there was a point to that ramble! I'm still in my joggers from running. I will maybe brave posting a pic today if I can find an appropriate mirror! But, when I'm dressed properly; you don't need to see me in my sweaty sports stuff!

OP posts:
MustardMitt · 11/01/2021 10:36

I’ve just got dressed Blush which is naughty of me as I should be working, but I’m in a lounging set with thick socks and a stretchy crop top. I’ve decided I’m going to spend some time with my clothes this week sorting out some actual outfits - I already sorted a whole bag of stuff for charity, the problem is I have nowhere to store it! But I need to, I’ve a terrible habit of buying the same things over and over as I can’t find them so forget I already have one (double Blush).

I’m a big fan of the capsule wardrobe so I’m going to try that. Best time for it really.

ParisJeTAime · 11/01/2021 10:45

mustard, I also love the idea of a capsule wardrobe. I long for a wardrobe where everything goes with everything else and I don't have to think too much when I'm getting dressed. But at the same time, I don't want to look really scruffy. This is why I'm trying to limit what colours I buy, so hopefully things will go together a bit better and I'll look a bit more together.

The other thing I'm doing is trying to buy for my lifestyle a bit more. I'm always seeing lovely dresses in the sales and buying them, when maybe the cut or the colour doesn't really suit me, or, more often than not, I haven't got anywhere to wear them!

ParisJeTAime · 11/01/2021 11:59

Not my trendiest outfit, but I'm posting it, because if I don't start somewhere, I'll never do it!

Siena straight leg jeans from M&S (18L)
Breton top also from M&S (16)

I'll stick some layers over the top in a minute and take dd out for some exercise.

Hi everyone, mind if I join too?

I am 5’5” and a 16/18 apple and busty to boot! Realistically more 18 post Christmas. I am actively losing weight and have gone from an 18/20 last year however I think it’s important to feel good in your clothes no matter your shape or size.

Today I’m wearing TU Sainsbury’s high waisted black skinny jeans, white Zara T-shirt, oatmeal Zara light knit jumper with side splits, chunky wooden collar necklace, matching earrings and slippers.

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 11/01/2021 12:02

@ParisJeTAime well done for braving the first picture! I wish I had your body shape.
I have the long sleeve version of your top but the elbows alway bag after a few hours 😔

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 11/01/2021 12:05

Have put on boots to brave a walk with DD.

ParisJeTAime · 11/01/2021 12:08

Thank you @Thedarknightsaredrawingin and welcome!

I think actually making an effort with my posture helped in that photo! Usually I'm much less upright Blush.

I totally agree that you need to feel good in what you're wearing. Feeling crap will not make me lose weight or develop healthier habits. Actually, the opposite seems to be true for me. A bit of effort with clothes etc and I feel better and then make healthier choices.

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 11/01/2021 12:12

100% true. Likewise when I exercise and get fresh air I make better food choices and savour occasional treats as opposed to hovering them for a quick energy boost.

ParisJeTAime · 11/01/2021 12:12

Ah that is a lovely look for a winter walk, dark!

Totally agree! One good habit naturally leads to others I think.

I work from home and lockdown so feel like I never get dressed up anymore Sad

I'm wearing my fiancé's hoodie, some new sweaty Betty leggings I got in the sale and are just the best thing ever and some Wolf and badger slippers. Bottom size 16, top size 20.

ParisJeTAime · 11/01/2021 12:30

Oh yes, I was perusing the Sweaty Betty sale too *Dior)! Those look great.

Glad you are happy with them, as I actually ended up getting some leggings from lululemon, (which I think are similar quality to SB) after someone raved about them on here. I would never have even considered spending that much on a pair of leggings before, but apparently they last forever, so I'm giving them a shot! They should arrive this week.

Welcome as well btw!

Thank you OP! Ahh my friend lives in lulu lemon, I might have to give them a go! Let us know how you find them :)

I'll report back Smile

Have a crap picture in my rolled up combats (from yesterday) with a grotty old Breton top from Next about 6 years ago, plus scarf as it's chilly, no shoes or slippers as always barefoot indoors unless it's positively baltic and I hate socks.
