We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

@ParisJeTAime love your sweater!

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 13/01/2021 19:53

I like Violeta, Boden and Zara (sizes are random).

tinkywinkyshandbag · 13/01/2021 20:11

Thanks @RockingMyFiftiesNot I did have a look at Evans and they do have some quite nice styles but all the fabrics look awfully nylony, like they'd be really sweaty and scratchy. I might order a couple and see what they are like. I feel a bit like Hattie Jaques at the moment, all boobs and arse.

Hepzibar · 13/01/2021 20:24

@tinkywinkyshandbag Navabi is really good for casual and smart, the prices are a bit higher than high street but they have lots of sales and offers. This was recommended by another poster on the last thread.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 13/01/2021 21:01

@Hepzibar thanks I've never looked but will do now.

SoDiorDarling · 13/01/2021 21:48

My go to is always ASOS curve, you have to search but I can always find something that suits. This is coming from a 34j Blush

Bouledeneige · 13/01/2021 22:13

Today's outfit - yes same trackies as yesterday.

I've just checked my 2 favourite Evans tops and they are 96% viscose. They look and feel like jersey/soft t-shirt material, definitely not ' sweaty' material.
FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 09:36

I'm wearing my Sweaty Betty high shine leggings which are so comfy. I mislaid them them this morning and actually got into a panic that I couldn't wear them that's how much I like them and the fact they regulate the temperature of my legs.
On top I'm wearing a black uniqlo t shirt covered by a lovely long grey sweatshirt with a large silver star on the front from a local boutique. It's got quite a wide neck though so I'll probably change into one of my 2 super comfy thick cotton hoodies I always like to wear at home where I can pull the drawstrings tight.

I've ordered myself an oodie because I bought my DC oodies for Christmas and they are so gorgeous to wear I had to buy my own as they won't relinquish them. And when I do manage to sneak a wear of them I feel really sad not wearing this soft wearable huggable cloud when I have to give it back.

Ps I'm a 16/18

FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 09:40

DS has left his oodie on his bedroom chair whilst doing his online school lessons downstairs so I'm currently wearing it. Oh god it's so soft and comfy. Heaven.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 09:45

@tinkywinkyshandbag I find that Boden shirts and blouses fit over my 40 E really well in a size 16/18. Obviously not all styles will suit everyone's shape but I have a good few that fit me perfectly. Read the reviews which help with getting the right fit for you. They are always well made with materials that tend to hang in a flattering way and lovely designs and they wash well.

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 09:53

Morning all!

Yes, I get terrible gaping with button down shirts. They always look crap on me, unless they are very loose fitting. Good to have recommendations. I know someone who swears by Bravissimo shirts as they are fit to boob size as well as dress size.

Here I am in Uniqlo long sleeved v neck tshirt, M&S printed jersey skirt and black Snag tights.

I'm wearing my usual attire of black leggings, an oversized teal v neck top and a big cosy cardy! If I venture out later I'll be wearing my waterproof Grubs boots.

SoDiorDarling · 14/01/2021 10:49

I'm literally in my nightie 😂 it's snowing though so no school run. Laptop and iPad (for DS) in bed!

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 11:37

No snow here, but very grey and rainy! Also freezing. I've got the heating on and some extra layers.

@SoDiorDarling any anyone else who's interested. So my size 16 black Go Move leggings have turned up.

They are very similar to the Sweaty Betty XL power leggings just a bit sort of tighter and less flexible and less soft material. In fact they are practically identical in every way fit, cut, style and size wise.

Sadly I have to return them because there's a 2cm hole in the outer pocket where it meets a seam. Otherwise I'd be happy to keep them. I'd happily buy another pair in the future but I do prefer Sweaty Betty now that I have them. I haven't had a chance to wear them properly as I've had to return them so no idea if they'd make my legs too hot which is my big issue with previous leggings.
Fairly easy to return with a bit of pfaffing around online and printing off a return slip (despite a reluctant printer at first) and booking Royal Mail to come and pick it up tomorrow from my house for 60p.

Plus it's been nice today answering the door in decent leggings and running out in the pissing rain with my recycling for the binmen earlier wearing something I wasnt embarrased to be seen in for a change Grin

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 14:38

Ah that's a shame flying! Although good to know for future that they're (nearly) as good as SB.

My lululemon ones haven't arrived yet. Will report back when they do. Think they're meant to be similar to SB in terms of quality. Worried now that they'll ruin other leggings for me though Wink. Whoever it was who ordered Sinophant leggings btw, I have a few pairs of these and really like them. They're very soft and not see through. They're not warm though, I don't think, but I do feel the cold.

OP posts:
FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 14:46

I ordered the Sinophant for DD and also for me to try they should arrive alter today hopefully.

I'll be very interested in your lululemon leggings @ParisJeTAime because I was looking at their 'We made too much sale' but I was a bit unsure re the sizing and didn't want to get it wrong. Plus I've only just bought some new ones anyway. I have to say I look and feel about 2 sizes slimmer wearing these leggings instead of baggy mom jeans or Pajama bottoms I've wearing at home a lot recently.

Sunshineboo · 14/01/2021 14:52

i am a lot bigger than you guys - six 26 - i buy a lot from asos curve. today i am
wearing a tomato red long dress made out of hoodie fabric. i love it - it's warm and bright and is easy to dress up or down. as i am working from home, am also in leggings and slippers

FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 14:56

Oooo A dress out of hoodie material now that's right up my street, I'd love that @Sunshineboo. Goes off to look at ASOS online. It looks very nice on you.

Sunshineboo · 14/01/2021 15:11

it's really lovely. asos have some
great stuff - there is lots not for me, but i pretty much get whole wardrobe from there.

asos leggings are thick i case anyone is struggling to find decent ones.

SoDiorDarling · 14/01/2021 15:44

Ooooh thanks for the leggings update!!! Might have to place an order!

@Sunshineboo ASOS is life! Love the dress.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 16:19

Ok so the Sinophant leggings have arrived.

Mine are the plus size (fits 14 to size 24) not the one size fits all (fits 2 -12 but can stretch to a 16 apparently) which DD has and they fit her perfectly (size 4, 5'4')
They are lovely and soft with a high waist and fit nicely. Very stretchy in a good way.

However as they are not compression leggings my thighs are noticably rubbing together. Otherwise they're a bargain as they're nice thick material so are squat proof and have a nice high waist which hasn't rolled down yet. For the price they're really good and cheap to replace once worn through. I get why they're so popular.

They are making my legs feel a bit too hot though after wearing them for a bit already.

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 16:35

Love that dress sunshine!

Yes, I agree re the Sinophant leggings. They are lovely, but they don't do a lot of holding / supporting. Mine are also the plus size ones and I like them for yoga and for wearing under dresses. I'm always cold, so don't get hot legs in them, but I'll look out for that as the weather changes.

OP posts:
FlyingByTheSeatof · 14/01/2021 16:45

I'm having to pull them up and the waist is rolling down so I'm suddenly constantly aware I'm wearing leggings unlike the SB ones.

I might try on DD's smaller size once she takes them off to see if they fit better.
