We used to have one of these and it was fab!

It was vaguely for size 18+, but I know a 5 foot size 16 is not the same as a 6 foot one, so don't think it needs to be strict.

Anyway, if anyone would like to join me they'd be v welcome.

FWIW, I'm a tall size 18, apple shape.

Still in my PJs Blush. Then going out for a walk / run (stating C25K again).

I put shoes on to go out to Waitrose, I have on very old black jeans an M and S woven tencel vest top and my beloved scraggly hoody which came from Freemans years ago, I have a skeleton cat patch on the arm to cover the daft 'Love' 'Peace' 'Sport' embroidery on the arm and a tatty old warm scarf.

Saint & Sofia runway pants and Camden pants in size 22 are simply the best!!!

ParisJeTAime · 12/01/2021 16:47

I haven't heard of either of those brands MyWay! Good to have new places to shop on my radar.

I was also thinking if anyone knows and wants to recommend any IG plus size pages worth following, that would be v welcome.

I love;

The Shira Rose

Stephanie Yaboah

Welcome newbies, it’s good to have the motivation from this thread in the morning!

@ParisJeTAime I too am a politics grad, feels like a lifetime ago though.

For insta inspiration I love Clarewatkins_stylist she is beautiful inside and out!

ParisJeTAime · 12/01/2021 17:01

Ha! That's funny dark. I think I just never left university Blush. Mentally and literally, come to think of it - I am still a student! Tbf I did take some time off and worked, looked after babies etc.

Just realised I misspelled Yeboah! I'll check out Claire Watkins. Thank you for that. Someone else recommended Emily Innes on here recently and I started following her, but only from today or yesterday, so can't report back on that.

Thought I would show my snags as I was trying them on.
The blue are wonderfully smurfy.

I already have the grey. I also bought black 120 denier.

Loving the outfits

Hi all,

Another Snag tights devotee here, though I went through a few pairs to get the sizing right.... the 1st pair ended under my boobs!!

I'm 5ft 6 and hovering between a size 20 and 22 (hence back on a low carb diet) .... whichever size I buy is wrong it seems. Just ordered some jeggings from Next in a 22 and they're huge...... same for White Stuff ones. My everyday outfit at the moment is black jeggings and a Joe Brown tunic top of some kind (this is the one I wore today) or Seasalt one with a smart cardigan. And Dr Marten boots.

Hello!

I was on the thread last year and although I was wfh I still wore my office clothes. This time round it's about keeping warm so on any given day I can almost guarantee I will be wearing a "uniform" of (from the feet up):

Black Ugg Mini Fluff ankle boots

If really cold, black slouch socks given by SIL1 to MIL for Christmas who gave them to SIL2 who gave them to me - silly women, they're lovely!

Black leggings all from Sainsburys

A tunic top (M&S/John Lewis/Country Rose/Violetta/Cotton Traders etc)

Either a long cardigan (Sainsbury's) or I have several thicker pashmina-type scarves and I'll double wrap one round my shoulders which is warming and actually quite comforting.

Roll on Spring when I can dust off my more interesting outfits.

ParisJeTAime · 12/01/2021 18:43

Welcome cherry. I love that Joe Brown tunic.

The woolly Snags also look really cosy! I didn't know they did woolly ones! I love woolly tights.

Welcome Charlotte! Yes, I can relate to just wanting to be warm at the moment.

The other day, I was so cold that I was wearing longjohns under my leggings. I am ready for winter to be over. I never thought of myself as a summer person who hated winter, but this year, I HATE winter. I'm ready to move to fecking Australia! Never would have said that before covid winter, as I usually love winter. But, I suppose, in normal winters I would be seeing friends indoors . Oh well. Thank god for wine and Mumsnet.

cherrypie that tunic is gorgeous. Love the colours

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 12/01/2021 20:07

I have always been dubious about snagg tights, nice to hear good reviews.

I am trying to get into the habit of planning my outfit the night before to stop me pulling out the same stuff over and over.

@ParisJeTAime I love accessories... your never too fat for a necklace or cracking pair of earrings!

Hepzibar · 12/01/2021 20:20

Thanks for starting the thread OP. I was on the last one and got some really good ideas for shops and online sites.

ParisJeTAime · 12/01/2021 20:45

Welcome @Hepzibar! Yes, I love these threads. I love talking about clothes at the moment. Think it's a great escape!

Grin at "you're never too fat for accessories"! Very true.

Morning all!

I'm in my runners again; was planning an early morning run, but ds decided to wake up early too, so I'm going at DH lunchtime, (he's wfh). Will post after when I'm properly dressed.

Hope everyone is well! Another grim day here. Roll on spring.

@ParisJeTAime thank you for this thread 💐
I loved the previous thread.
I'm no fashionista but would LOVE to be .
I have no idea what suits me.
I have spent last 20years in 'house' clothes ...black track bottoms and Breton tops.
Now I just can't get smart but comfortable alternatives.
I lost 4stone 4years ago and have regained it all Blush
I'm totally lost.
I'm early 50's but frumpy as hell.

ParisJeTAime · 13/01/2021 11:19

Ah not at all @Maverick66! I'm so glad to have people to discuss clothes with! Good old Mumsnet.

It's so hard. In my twenties I was positively skinny! But it did not come naturally to me at all. It was difficult to maintain after a while. Oh well.

I've just bought some ballet pumps in the Fitflop sale. They were there, in my size, in one of 'my' colours and there's an additional 20% off sale items, so I couldn't resist! I do need some decent quality ballet flats as well, for if I ever go out again, so I think it's fine.

Here I am. Back from my run, showered and changed.

Struggling to take a good photo, but think this actually looks rather nice in person.

@SoDiorDarling I bought those exact same leggings in XL from the Sweaty Betty sale they're amazing aren't they so comfy - I wish I'd bought more leggings in the sale but I wasn't sure what size I'd be.

I've avoided leggings for years because they make my legs too hot but these are perfect.

I ended up buying a SB pair of power leggings in black XL with a 20% discount which came today. I like them both equally but the high shine will be better for summer as they're cooler.

I'm wearing them with an M&S black T-Shirt and an Oodie (very snuggly and warm)

SoDiorDarling · 13/01/2021 16:00

@FlyingByTheSeatof hahaha I did the same! The black powers ones in xl 7/8th for my short ass and they're perfect! I can see me becoming obsessed.

Still not inclined to actually exercise in them yet though Blush

FlyingByTheSeatof · 13/01/2021 17:03

Lol @SoDiorDarling same definitely not exercised yet in them if ever Grin

Same re getting totally obsessed with them.

I've ordered some M&S Go move gym leggings to see how they compare and some Sinophant leggings from Amazon. They should both arrive tomorrow. I let you know how they compare.

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 13/01/2021 17:18

Lovely jumper @ParisJeTAime.

The weather is atrocious here today so we have declared it a pyjama afternoon! School work finished by lunchtime then Mary Poppins and popcorn.

I have ordered a sequin top in the Zara sale I had my eye on before Christmas but sold out... not £9.99 as a sale return! Grin

SoDiorDarling · 13/01/2021 18:28

Ooooh yeh @FlyingByTheSeatof please do!

tinkywinkyshandbag · 13/01/2021 19:08

Anyone got any recommendations for some nice smart but casual tops, long sleeved, suitable for the larger bust, not too clingy but not shapeless either? I am aware I am asking a lot!!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 13/01/2021 19:18

@tinkywinkyshandbag I know Evans usually gets a thumbs down on MN but I find their tops drape really well (I guess because they are designed for fuller figures). Sure there's a lot I don't like but I've found plenty I do. We have an Evans in a large Tesco near us and I have a quick look round every now and then (not 'now' as that section is closed off!) I do find them better for every day stuff than going out but that's not an issue at the moment!!

ParisJeTAime · 13/01/2021 19:35

I haven't looked in Evan's for ages. Didn't actually know they had a bad reputation! But then I quite like Joules, M&S and Seasalt, which apparently are frumpy! I'm a hopeless case it seems Grin.

There is a lovely tunic posted not long ago from Joe Brown's tinky! I'm large of nork and think that style would suit me.

I've also had a few nice tops from Junarose. I had one which had a scoop neck and a peplum and it worked well on me. No idea where that's gone actually...
