Lipstick Challenge - a different lipstick each day of Jan!

I remember a similar thread a few years ago that went down well

The idea is to use a different lipstick every day and share with the thread whether a review, photo, anything! It isn't about buying new ones necessarily but rediscovering ones you already own.

We do a NYD dinner here so will put a nice new one on for that tomorrow and report back!

I have enough products to do this, the 'what lipstick are you wearing today' thread has been a terrible influence...

I definitely have enough to do this - in fact it's embarrassing how many lipsticks and lipglosses I have.

I don't quite have enough but I'm in!

Probably will have by the end of January though....

Am I the only person on here who only owns ONE lipstick?

I only own one. And as it's not compatible with a mask I haven't worn it all year. In fact I can count on one hand the times I've worn any make up at all this year. But have fun!

I'll join! I bought far too many lipsticks after hanging around on the other lipsticks thread
for so long so I need somewhere to put them to use

I've seen in the news several times that sales of lipsticks have been massively down in 2020 due to mask-wearing, but I love on mumsnet there is a thread about wearing a different one each day in Jan 😁

I wish I could join in but fall well short of the number needed. Now lip balms is probably another matter, have a million of those!

Maybelline matte ink in path finder this morning, it was a Christmas present so this is the first time I've worn it.

It's my birthday today and I know I've got at least one new lipstick to open so that is exciting!

I've still not mastered selfie's though, my lips always look so wonky! I swear they don't look like that in the mirror!!

I only own two lipsticks: a nude and a brighter red one. Sounds fun if you have more though

In theory I’m in but a lot of the (many) lipsticks I own are very deep, dark ‘going out’ lipsticks! I’d look a bit strange just knocking about the house in them and a bit much for going to work in! Perhaps I’ll use the darker ones at the weekends...

See I love a lipstick, but as a have to wear a mask every day at work it ends up smudged inside the mask and all over the face so I've given up wearing lipstick for months now 🥲

Today's lipstick is a Maybelline powder matte.

I seem to have so many rose, purply undertone lipsticks yet I seem to have discovered, completely by accident, that I seem to suit more orangey and brown colours. Unfortunately I've committed myself to an Amazon ban 😩.

I collect lipsticks and have lost count how many I have. It’s in the hundreds.

Mac Faux quickly applied without a lip liner hence the wobbly look on my aged lips.

I’m not really keen on Mac lipsticks anymore as the quality is not as great as it used to be but I still buy for the colours.

You all have much nicer lips than me 😂 loving the colour choices so far. I haven’t done mine yet, just getting ready to go out for a walk.

I'm hung over and dehydrated so got out a maybelline 24 hour liquid lipstick, its the one with the balm on one end. This is plum seduction and it doesn't really suit me at the moment, will put it back in the box to try again when im tanned. The formula feels great though!

No! I am the same. I only suit one colour and texture really. I rarely wear it, but strangely enough, I am wearing it today. It's a very dark red, verging on purple gloss. Dd says I look like a witch, but whatever .

I'll enjoy watching this thread though, even though I'm not really a lipstick person.

I’ll join in- embarrassingly, I have around 50 lipsticks/glosses.
This one is Anastasia Petal. It’s semi-matte, comfortable to wear and lasts ages- it can emphasise dryness a little but good if your lips are in good condition.

I need to put some application practice in to get my lips looking more even.

I probably have enough to do this, a different one each day........

You can mirror the image in the editing app on your phone, that usually helps me when I look wonky in photos! It's because we are used to seeing ourselves in a reflection.

I am on a NYX mini that I got in the advent calendar, definitely not my usual colour and not sure I will revisit it. My lips look awful in the picture too, not usually this bad - promise!

i have tonnes of lipsticks but have moved away from them now as i've realised my teeth are too yellowy even though healthy in other aspects. off the shelf things don't work and i can't afford the dentist to do Zoom! white thingy. ive tried to stick with cool undertones eg blue tint pinks, mauves etc but it doesnt really help

opinions - lipstick if wonky and yellowed teeth?

despite this, recently i've thought lipstick does add a nice interest to my face when i'm out even just for a walk!

i've worn my MAC lipglass in Lovechild (plum - blue undertones) and loved it.

I've worn NYX lip lingerie gloss in satin ribbon (nude beige - cool undertones)

i've also worn MAC in Mehr (rose - blue undertones)

I always love reading this thread and this year I’m going to try joining in, though I have a fairly limited range of lipsticks so definitely won’t manage a different shade each day.

Today I wore an NYX shade called fig and lined my lips with Rimmel east end snob (?). I think this shade is not quite right - a bit too pale perhaps. It looks a lot darker in the low light picture.

Meant to post yesterday - but here's today: Safiya Nygaard x Colourpop in Fred. I like this one, should wear it more often.

It's getting over the inevitable comments at work that I struggle with.
