Are there any perfumes you absolutely hate?

Reason for asking, I ordered blind ( stupid I know) a Liz Earle perfume. Even wanting to try them, no chance of testing at the moment, so picked one that loads of reviews said was gorgeous, favourite perfume, ever, signature scent, always getting stopped & asked what it was etc. The description sounded ok. It came & I hate it, it actually makes me feel sick when I smell it, couldn’t wait to scrub it off. It’s so persistent though!

I love POAL! I wear it on special occasions as I only have a tiny bottle due to the price. Agree with others on Chanel no 5 though - sprayed it on in an airport once and had to feel sick for the whole flight. Chanel doesn’t work for me. I like Coco on others but it smells nice on my sleeve but not on my skin for me, and I hate Coco Mademoiselle and the Noir one. A friend drenches herself in Miss Dior and I can’t stand that either. And the Chloe one that smells of nappy bags!

I tried J'adore on once. Liked it for the first few minutes but half an hour later it was giving me a headache and wouldn't wash off, never again.

My late sister always wore white linen. I thought I would try some to wear so it reminded me of her, it smelt nothing like her on me !!

Angel the chocolatey one, I wore it when I was younger until I was on a day coach trip to London and was taken dreadfully ill. The smell of angel just reminds me of this now !

Pomegranate Noir. Far too strong and not a nice scent. Too "spicy" for my taste.

I always wonder why angel innocent wasn’t a bigger hit. It had all the good parts of Angel but without the nauseating bit. Or there was another , Angel violette? Don’t think it was available in the Uk.

Sun Moon & Stars by Karl Lagerfeld was a terrible migraine trigger for me, aside from smelling disgusting.

Chanel No. 5 smells lovely on others but awful on me.

Pomegranate Noir also gives me headaches and I find it very cloying.

Poison - just not a fan.

My mum used to wear Anais Anais and I always hated it, it was just far too flowery.

Lots of people seem to dislike Aromatics Elixir but I quite like it, although I've never owned or worn it.

I also absolutely hate Fahrenheit on men. Makes me want to throw up.

Poison, Opium, Pomegranate Noir, all instant migraines.
Someone in work drenched herself in Pomegranate Noir and I had to ask her to stop wearing it

I'm quite sad to read about the massive dislike for Eden. That was my signature scent in the 90s (I was a teen) and I loved it and used to get so many compliments - now I'm wondering if they were actually trying to find out what it was so they could avoid

I dislike the overly sweet ones - the Britney Spears ones were awful.

I'm not a fan of Chanel No 5 - it just smells too overpowering to me.

I do like having a sniff of Old Spice - my dad used to wear it. He died a long time ago but sniffing that makes me feel like a little girl curled up on his knee watching Only Fools and Horses

Oh ive thought of another which is worse than my first comment for Angel. Gucci rush - heave!!

I worked in semi-chem over Christmas the year it was popular and everyone wanted a spray, vomit inducing.

I dislike perfumes where the smell just stays linear. So I might like it initially, but after an hour of exactly the same I want an escape from it but can't get away IYKWIM?

La vie est belle - is one of these. Too strong, too sweet, and just stays super strong and super sweet FOREVER. I need to get away from it!!

Alien - is also one of these. I love jasmine so like it initally, but it's so strong and just keeps on going and going there is no escape from it. I become desparate to wash it off to have a break from it.

Tom Ford Black Orchid is another.

I do love many of those mentioned here though:
I love Samsara and Shalimar. They evolve on the skin and I can enjoy them all day.
I love Amarige it's strong but still soft and evolves.
I nearly love Angel: don't love it when it first goes on, but love the lingering base notes and DH loves it and I like his reaction to it...

Oh and I LOVE Brut!!

Alien and Angel. They're so synthetic and strong.

These. Also, Poison, Obsession, Opium - all cloying with an undernote that makes me cough. I don't know enough about scent, wish I knew what the repellent ingredient in these are so that I can avoid anything similar!

Me too! Also L'eau d'Issy think they are quite similar, quite light, to me.

Alien is the most hideous perfume
I have ever smelled. And it's so strong and over powering, a woman at work wear it and you can smell it all the way down the bottom of the corridor.
