Well here we go.
I couldn't see another thread, so thought I would start one.
Will try & post pictures if I remember.
If I forget perhaps someone else could post.
Day no1 coming up

Votary was an instant winner for me today. Tried it as a morning moisturiser and it really calmed some red dry patches on my skin (could be a coincide but I'm hoping not!)

On Christmas eve I'm planning a full-on Liberty advent calendar pamper :)

mynameiscalypso · 22/12/2020 12:14

I've decided I'm not a fan of Dr S, really doesn't do much for me. Like this votary one though. I have relatively sensitive skin and have been a bit concerned that I may be dabbling in skincare that's not always great for it so this feels like a good antidote.

friendlyflicka · 22/12/2020 16:54

Does any one find any skin care product that produces instantaneous results? Or even any real obvious results? I am 54 and use retinol and otherwise chop and change skin care. My skin is not sensitive and is not dry and is generally quite easy and happy.

I am obviously growing older and have lines but still look fairly good for my age. Probably genetic. I have no idea if my skin care does anything at all! I just like products and fussing around and especially nice smelling ones

mrsduff · 22/12/2020 17:11

The main thing I've found is if I use soap based cleansers it makes my oily skin go into oil producing overdrive! Also heavy night creams sit uncomfortably on my skin.. so it's more knowing what instantly doesn't work on my skin than the other way around.

That said, the votary cream today really worked well on my skin and despite its vegetably smell I'm impressed!

BrewThru · 22/12/2020 19:34

Haven't used the space mask yet but I've seen them scattered all over social media. I certainly need to be in another dimension right now so I'm hopeful.

Used the hourglass (I have aura). And it withstood me having to go out in the pouring rain to empty the bin while I search for my DD's letter from 'Father Christmas' that I threw out! Looks great on - slightly gutted as I purchased the Charlotte tilbury one not long ago. I like this one more.

Sooo impressed with today's Votary offering. Applied it this morning and feels good on. Make up still looks good after.

I am also giving the Dr. S HA away as it just doesn't suit my skin.

It's my first experience of of a high end beauty calendar and it's hard not to like something that has many products I loved and will repurchase. Thoroughly enjoying it... still a few days to go!

RoxyL · 22/12/2020 21:49

I like Votary but got the entire range in Mintd box subscription month before last so have plenty! I'll gift today's serum to my mum for Christmas. I'm not 100% convinced that the Votary products really make much difference to my skin like some products do but they are soothing and natural...

GinandGingerBeer · 22/12/2020 23:30

Hmm yes it definitely smells a bit funky! They have a distinctive pong of goodness! This one ok, it does have a fat of cucumber so that's nice.
The only one I couldn't stomach was the moisturiser a year or two ago. Smelt like porridge and cauliflower 😂 Not a great combo!

@friendlyflicka One product that I do thinks gives an instant glow and makes skin look healthy is the Oskia Super C capsules. They're just gorgeous. I gave in and treated myself to some after getting them in Caroline Hirons summer beauty set. I got them in a 30% Black Friday deal. They're spendy but worth it.

Not many drawers to open now 😭

GinandGingerBeer · 22/12/2020 23:31

It also smells lovely too. Smile

Polpette · 23/12/2020 06:21

@GinandGingerBeer 'distinctive pong of goodness' sums it up perfectly!

I once went for a very expensive/luxurious facial which was ruined as the therapist's hands smelled like she'd just had a cigarette - I didn't say anything of course, just lay there feeling slightly yuck. It was much later that I discovered the cleansing product had an unusually strong smoky smell. Oops.

MiaN · 23/12/2020 06:43

proper meh today but I am going to use it this morning anyway.

AesopsMables · 23/12/2020 07:35

I was gifted a full size of these salts over 6 months ago. Still got most left as I wasn't that impressed. Does make water very soft but leaves lots of 'bits' in bath
No card in the box this morning?!

Chickydoo · 23/12/2020 07:47

Bath oil/powder thing.
Smells nice, will use in a mo' going to have a coffee then a soak in the bath, lovely....

Very underwhelming today. Liberty seemed obsessed with this brand.

Polpette · 23/12/2020 08:48

Hmm. Whey proteins, so this is a sanitised version of bathing in milk.

I guess I need to embrace my inner Cleopatra and give it a try.

Chickydoo · 23/12/2020 09:13

Just used in the bath. It was ok, skin feels soft afterwards.
An average bath product, will finish the bottle. I think I should have probably put more in

Tangomango1 · 23/12/2020 10:16

Good morning everyone! I am a little underwhelmed by today's bath oil. The packaging looks like a medicine bottle!

But, I will try it out later with a long soak in the bath and I hope I change my mind.

I have really enjoyed this thread too. I haven't managed to post every day but I have really enjoyed opening a drawer on a dark wintry morning & discovering new products. It has been a real treat Smile

TawnyPippit · 23/12/2020 10:59

Coming in late to say I’ve loved the AC and the thread too. Not sure why I get so invested in seeing what everyone else thinks of things - I open a drawer, and then think “oooh, I wonder how that’s going to go down...”

My standout favourite has been the Venn. I have already ordered a full size, which I will move to in the new year when I have finished up a few expensive bits and bobs I am already using. (I used the sample, with nothing else, am and pm for 4 days and my skin sort of went “ahhhh... quit with the fiddly 5 stage processes why don’t you”). So that will be my pared back January treat.

No real duds for me; there are some things I like more, some less but I have a 17 yr old DD who happily accepts anything passed her way, so the lipstick and the Mario Badescu have migrated that way. She was in fact complaining yesterday that the Liberty AC was “too good” as she hadn’t had much by the way of pickings!

friendlyflicka · 23/12/2020 11:18

@GinandGingerBeer I liked the vit c capsules I got in a gift with purchase as well. Felt like they might be having an impact.

I like that bath product. It makes the water very soft, but it isn't oily. I understand the love for it.

Orcadianrythyms · 23/12/2020 12:35

The website says 5-7 teaspoons per bath, so I think it's a one or two bath use. Smells nice so will embrace my inner Cleopatra and give it a go Xmas Smile

friendlyflicka · 23/12/2020 13:12

I would use this in every bath, if I could afford it

RoxyL · 23/12/2020 21:08

Not overly excited by the bath milk. Will give it a try tomorrow eve with an open mind... Only two drawers left to open. Waaaa :(

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 23/12/2020 21:13

I tried the space NK mask earlier and nothing happened? I threw it away.

MiaN · 24/12/2020 04:57

@Whatiswrongwithmykid same here! It's not space nk mask, just space mask that does nothing

Orcadianrythyms · 24/12/2020 05:43

I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought the space mask was pointless Grin. Although it got hotter after 10mins, I didn't feel the zen.
I'm sad this thread is almost over, I've enjoyed all the different opinions on the products, so thank you all and hope you have the best Christmas you can.

Polpette · 24/12/2020 06:34

I love this morning's offering, I've always wanted to try a Diptyque candle and this smells really crisp and floral - no idea what it smells like lit, I guess that's the real test.

The Votary is making my skin feel great, I love how calming it is. I've even got used to the pong!

I mixed a touch of Venn with my high coverage foundation yesterday and it worked really well, I got a fresher less made up look that lasted all day.
