Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any advice on a beauty advent calendar for a young teen? DD has requested one for her 13th Birthday (late November) and I'm not sure what to go for. Budget is only about £50 as already got her main present, so limited options. She's fair skinned, hazel eyed, light brown hair if that helps. I did look at the revolution one as I know she likes the brand but I'm not convinced the products in it will suit her.
Thanks.

TeatimeAtCloppa · 06/11/2020 14:10

Pom I got a Dyptique one in a GWP and after about ten minutes it went out and wouldn't relight.😭 It was a lovely, luxurious scent so I was so sad about it. Yes, Neom is so spa like. I wouldn't say no if someone gave me one but just tend to buy Yankee or the cheapies.

Xmas I haven't tried Pink Sands. I think my favourite is the Fluffy Towels one or Snow in Love. My children of course like the sweet foodie ones like Pecan Bites or After Sledding, like cookies baking in an oven. Probably because I can't bake very well so it's the closest they come to my that kind of thing.😂

I would take a look at Kiko which I think is £40 and their products are good quality.
AprilLady · 06/11/2020 15:12

SoThisisMe, Kiko looks good for make up focussed one. Another option, which my DD really liked at that age, was the Soap and Glory calendar (c£35 at Boots). Wider range of face, body and bath products if that appeals?

TheDetectiveBadge · 06/11/2020 15:16

Anyone have any thoughts on the Nyx Diamonds and Ice advent calendar? I'm considering it but not bought Nyx products before.

SoThisisMe · 06/11/2020 15:57

Thanks carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers( and AprilLady*, I will check those out.

Also now considering the NYX one so adding to TheDetectiveBadge's request for any feedback please? Smile

Are any of these likely to drop in price or do I need to take the plunge now in case they sell out?

SoThisisMe · 06/11/2020 15:58

Oops, bold fail Blush

carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers · 06/11/2020 17:23

Ah yes forgot about nyx, I really like their products their lipsticks are fab

EatPrayYoga · 06/11/2020 17:38

I got an email for £10 off £70 from John Lewis - all these encouragements to buy!

Imtoooldforallthis · 06/11/2020 17:38

Sorry if this has already been asked, but does anyone know if the asos 24 face and body calender will be back in stock.

Pomegranatespompom · 06/11/2020 17:46

That's the price it should have been all along. Bit like the Boots Macmillan one.

The NYX palette in last year's Glossybox calendar was nice.

Boots has reduced some of their calendars, including soap & glory, Ted Baker and Yankee candle

Ladies the Love Honey calendar is £20 off! Grin

EatPrayYoga · 06/11/2020 20:57

The Soap & Glory and the Ted Baker are quite good for the price

OchonAgusOchonO · 06/11/2020 21:22

Anyone looking for really gorgeous natural candles, these are worth a look. They do free shipping on orders over €50 and it applies to the UK too.

AprilLady · 07/11/2020 11:16

Thanks 18toys, ordered for DD as great value at that price!

AprilLady · 07/11/2020 11:36

On second thoughts, very concerned the above is a scam of some sort. And can’t cancel the order on Amazon. The seller has random letters to their name and is brand new on Amazon!

OchonAgusOchonO · 07/11/2020 11:38

@AprilLady - contact customer service via live chat. They're very good at sorting stuff out.

I8toys · 07/11/2020 11:53

AprilLady I did wonder that but thought if it doesn't turn up Amazon will refund me so worth a punt.

AprilLady · 07/11/2020 12:13

Thanks both. I’ve attempted to contact the seller to ask for a cancellation. I’ll reach out to Amazon customer service if that fails.

Marshyellow · 07/11/2020 12:14

Yeah I agree that Amazon customer service is fab, if there are issues and it does not arrive or anything they will sort it.

Housewife2010 · 07/11/2020 16:11

Space NK have just released some Christmas boxes which look very nice. I've just ordered the Winter Wind-down one. I've put my code for £10 off an initial Space NK order on the promo board. reallyree.com/space-nk-christmas-box-collection/
