@ EatPrayYoga - Their customer service sounds awful. I really hope it makes it. Have you decided whether you're going to buy the Elle or another just in case?

It is pretty appalling.

I'm going to hold on a few days and see before getting the Elle one.

buckeejit · 31/10/2020 23:17

What's the candle advent calendar please?

AprilLady · 31/10/2020 23:19

As I mentioned before, I also had appalling customer service from LF a few months back. I can report though, that Cult Beauty customer service is excellent. I caved and went for the CB GWP. Ordered around lunchtime on Wednesday, and my order had arrived by midday Thursday. Unfortunately one of the items I’d ordered was missing. They had responded to my email by the end of the day (and were very apologetic). Item was dispatched yesterday and arrived this morning. Very impressed.

I’m thinking I might start one of my calendars on Thursday - sort of a lockdown cheer me up. Just trying to decide which; probably Net a Porter.

Butterymuffin · 31/10/2020 23:37

@AnSionnachGlic hope you enjoy the Birchbox, though please don't let any spoilers creep in here as I'm saving mine for Jadvent!

Looks like it may be time for a 'lockdown advent opening' thread from what a few people are posting.

@EatPrayYoga that's my plan, to snap something up on a Black Friday sale. We'll have to be quick this year though, I reckon, as everyone not on furlough/jobless will be desperately buying to stave off lockdown misery.

@OchonAgusOchonO really hope it turns up for you!

Thanks @Butterymuffin

Ooh it’s November already! Think I might start on Lumene. I think the world will need cheering up this week, with lockdowns coming back in across Europe and no doubt mayhem in America from Tuesday.

foilflower · 01/11/2020 09:31

Exactly Chloe. I’ve been enjoying my Elemis one. Have been in full lockdown for a week already here, and haven’t been able to leave our area for a month or so now. Have seen family once since March and it looks like I won’t get to see them until spring next year. Definitely need cheering up in other ways.

Pomegranatespompom · 01/11/2020 10:09

Sorry of this has been asked, this thread is fast!
Views on rituals ?

Costacoffeeplease · 01/11/2020 10:36

I might start on lumene but as it’s 24 days I think I’ll start next weekend so there isn’t a gap before I start December’s

Latest reply from LF:

I am truly sorry for the confusion caused here. I have taken a further look into this for you and our Operations team have still not yet provided us with further information regarding this. I cannot apologise enough for the inconvenience this is causing.

I can see that your Advent Calendar has not shipped from our warehouse as your order has been held due to the product being out of stock. It may be possible that stock will be allocated to your order to fulfil this for you, however only our Operations team can confirm this for us. This is why we are awaiting further information from themselves so we have a clear understanding of how this is going to be resolved for you.

Due to us entering our busiest period there are delays with our teams coming back to us, with the high volume of queries they are also receiving. We do need to allow a wider timeframe for the team to look into this and then provide us with information and I truly apologise that this was not communicated to yourself.

Please be assured, as soon as our Operations team come back to us with a resolution, we will be in contact with yourself.

Thank you so much for your continued patience, we deeply apologise for the disappointment caused here. x

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 11:26

I know it's pathetic, but I actually felt like crying when I read that. Life is pretty crap at the moment for all of us and I was really looking froward to the calendar and the daily thread in december. I found the daily threads great fun last year and it really made the experience so much more enjoyable.

I can get the Elle one, but hardly anyone here seems to have it so I expect if there is a thread, it will be very quiet. One of the reasons I chose LF was because it was pretty popular here and I thought the daily thread would be great.

Anyway, time to stop being pathetic and go and sort the laundry.

foilflower · 01/11/2020 11:48

I totally get it Ochon as I felt the same when mine was held somewhere. Fingers crossed for you.

MiaN · 01/11/2020 11:50

hey @OchonAgusOchonO - you are not pathetic at all. When I had issue with LIberty they did sort it out and gave me small discount to makeup for it. If you end up buying the ELLE, I will read your daily posts & comment as I have used many of the products. They often go on sale too and there could be more people joining you after black Friday.

Sorry LF are being annoying, terrible customer service. They are busy but they took your money and are delivering to others so they need to sort it out!

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 12:01

@MiaN - I will read your daily posts & comment as I have used many of the products.

That's so nice of you. This is why I love the threads on here. People are so nice and supportive.

Thank you too @foilflower.

EatPrayYoga · 01/11/2020 12:02

Ochon That's really annoying. I don't think it is good enough for them to sag they are busy. I'm sorry this is happening and I can understand why you are upset. I'm still thinking of getting a third and it would be the Elle. If you get it, I will also participate in the Elle unboxing whether I have it or not!

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 12:10

@EatPrayYoga - thank you so much. I'm starting to well up again but in a good way now.

For anyone who has LF and hasn't checked it, there are a number of people on twitter complaining about one or more empty drawers so it might be worth checking there is something in them all.

EatPrayYoga · 01/11/2020 12:23

Ochon 💗

Maybe I will check my LF to make sure the drawers all of something in but I'm not sure I trust them to do anything about it if any of them are empty...

Pomegranatespompom · 01/11/2020 12:32

@OchonAgusOchonO how frustrating. 🤞 all will be ok

TeatimeAtCloppa · 01/11/2020 12:38

Ochon, You can have my LF calendar. I have quite a few calendars as well as GWPs. I don't really need them...I think that they fulfil a kind of emotional and psychological thing since having zero toiletries and personal hygiene as a wee child. So I understand how shit this must be. I'm up North from you so it would be no bother at all to send it along.

Thank you so much. Another poster has pm'd me to offer the same. I really don't want to take anything off anyone unless they are 100% sure that they don't want their one. So if you have purchase guilt/regret then I would be very grateful. Otherwise no.

NI would probably be the easier to ship from than GB, which is where I think the other poster is from.

I really didn't post with any expectation of anyone doing anything other than sympathising with me. I've really overwhelmed by the kindness from you all.

That is true. But they might send something different or do a partial refund.
clary · 01/11/2020 13:02

Ah @OchonAgusOchonO so sorry about the LF calendar. We were all set to be ADvent calendar twins as well, even down to both being mid-50s and giving the H&B one to our DD! Sorry if that sounds stalkery Grin

Hope you do get one one way or another. Looking forward to December after a truly crappy week eh!

TeatimeAtCloppa · 01/11/2020 13:07

It is really no trouble. I got it delivered to mum's so I will don my mask this evening and go hunt it out.

Xmaspartyanimal · 01/11/2020 13:10

I have bodyshop, H&B and Origins calendars. I don't feel like starting to open calendars just yet. H&B is definitely for December and I probably start bodyshop then too. I save Origins 12 day calendar for January.

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 13:16

@clary - not at all stalkeryGrin. It's nice to have partners in crime.

But on the good news front, ds1 has just found out he is off Christmas day and the 2 days following it (health care worker). He's put in for Christmas eve but hasn't heard back on that yet (only weekends and public holidays sorted). Looks like we should have all the kids home for Christmas, assuming we're allowed travel. I will probably need to collect him after work on Christmas eve as if dh goes, I'd have to cook the ham 😱. I'm veggie so it would be a bit of a disaster 😁.

It's great he has the few days together as he's quite a distance away. Although we'd have made it work if he only got one of the days off.

Puts it all into perspective really 😁
