@TeatimeAtCloppa - It is really no trouble. I got it delivered to mum's so I will don my mask this evening and go hunt it out.

Maybe if we give them a few days to sort it before you do?

TeatimeAtCloppa · 01/11/2020 13:21

No bother Ochon. Who knows they might yet come through.Smile
I've had to contact Cult Beauty because I ordered a Jo Loves perfume for my friend to get the GWP and it wasn't in the box. They said they need 24 hours to investigate.

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 13:35

They said they need 24 hours to investigate.

Bit of a contrast with LF customer service....

carolebaskinfedhimtothetigers · 01/11/2020 13:41

For anyone that's going to check their LF for missing products, even though they are all 'wrapped' in pink tissue paper a lot of them had come out of it (apparently, it was my DP who checked it) so might be worth getting someone else to check it if you can.

Lol they came back within the hour...said there was an oversight at the distribution centre and the item is out of stock so I got a refund. LF is so rubbish. I thought recently they had gone massively downhill when I got their boxes. They used to be brilliant.

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 16:24

Disappointing that it was out of stock but resolved quickly.

I hadn't bought anything from LF in a while either. But yeah, they used to be great.

Advice please, I tried to order the Fenwicks calendar on Monday, seemed to be a problem with my card but then it went through and was down as pending on my bank account so thought it was so fine. Realised yesterday I had never received a confirmation from them so went back to check bank account and it was no longer there and now it's out of stock. Am a bit gutted as most other things seem to be OOS too. I've put my name down for Liberty waiting list but I had that last year and there's a few bits I'm not keen on. Any others that still have availability that you would recommend? I'm more keen on creams and lotions than make-up. Elemis would have been my second choice but that's also gone. Really annoyed at Fenwicks/bank for the mix up.

Pomegranatespompom · 01/11/2020 16:55

@stokey Harrods looks good, sometimes on offer for Black Friday.
Annoying re Fenwick’s.
Also Liberty has gift bags last year which were good, have you a calendar you could reuse that someone could fill for you?
I think I had the sleep one last year which had a wash bag, night cream, candle, bath oil plus another item I can’t remember for £80.

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 16:56

@Stokey - Lumene has been getting rave reviews as a brand on here. It's still available on Feelunique. They also have Dr. Hauschka, which is a lovely brand and seems to be mainly skincare.

I'd say the Lumene is probably closest to Elemis though.

Diadora30 · 01/11/2020 17:38

I have a brand new unwanted unopened Holland and Barrett 25 days of beauty advent calendar. If anyone’s missed out and wants it I’m more than happy to sell it for £40 plus postage (not quite sure how much that will be yet as it is quite heavy).

lolacola77 · 01/11/2020 17:42

I'm gutted I missed out on Fenwick, Elemis and Fenwick. I thought I'd ordered the Elemis but i cocked the order up

lolacola77 · 01/11/2020 17:45

Sorry meant Elemis, look Fantastic and Fenwick.

Bambooble · 01/11/2020 17:59

I have 3 advent calendars, is it wrong to open one this month since it's bound to be such a crap and long one with this new lockdown?

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 18:03

@Bambooble - I think a lot of people are doing that. Someone upthread said they were waiting until next week so there would be continuity into December. We did also talk about having threads in November so maybe say which one you're planning on opening and you will get companySmile

MiaN · 01/11/2020 18:04

Go for it. I am opening one of mine this month!

FredaFox · 01/11/2020 18:43

I’ve started today, pretty little thing calendar, it was an impulse buy thanks to this thread and it seemed more make up than skincare so compliments my other two 😳 (LF and Feel Unique) hoping to try a new things before committing to more expensive brands
It works out well as a countdown to my annual leave

I think it is fine to do whatever helps get you through, at the moment!
Stokey · 01/11/2020 19:00

Thanks Pomegranate, I do have my Liberty's box from last year although have my make up stored in it. I don't know if I can take the stress of missing out on Black Friday too! Thanks for the Lumene tip Ochon, that may be my answer & will have saved me some money.

Lolacola I feel your pain. It's a bit annoying they all sell out so quickly, but i guess the wise folk on here knew to get in early!

Housewife2010 · 01/11/2020 19:01

The Selfridge's AC is back in stock.

Pomegranatespompom · 01/11/2020 19:03

I’ve just been looking at the rowan tree advent stationary advent calendar - looks good.

Bambooble · 01/11/2020 19:06

Starting on the Holland and Barrett one then Grin. Obviously won't post any spoilers/comments about the contents on here yet, but will jump on the December one to discuss next month! I have Glossybox for actual advent and me and DH have a joint project type one.

BeTheHokeyMan · 01/11/2020 19:06

Would anyone have a recommendation of an advent calendar that would be suitable for a 18 year old girl that wouldn't be too expensive ? Makeup/beauty related. Thanks so much I'm no good at these sort of things Blush

Housewife2010 · 01/11/2020 19:07

BeTheHokeyMan Have a look at the Kiko AC. It's £40, all makeup and Kiko is good quality.

Pomegranatespompom · 01/11/2020 19:09

@stokey there is a glow kit which looks good in Liberty - 6 items £65. The Christmas bags aren’t online yet.

OchonAgusOchonO · 01/11/2020 19:15

@Bambooble - you could always start a November thread with a big disclaimer at the beginning. If everyone puts a couple of blank lines at the beginning of their post, no text will be visible if it makes it into Active.
