Does anyone wear these to bed every night?

These beautiful satin night gowns... we see them in movies but what I wanna know is, does anyone IRL wear them everynight?

I have a small collection of these but cannot wear them to bed. They feel uncomfortable compared to my usual cotton pajamas Blush I'm also afraid I'd feel cold in the morning. But I really want to get into the habit if it's possible as they feel so luxurious Grin

I had some in the past but found them awful. I’ve got a few lovely soft cotton sets now.

habibihabibi · 20/10/2020 19:52

I splurged some serious cash on silk La perla slips but I find them
uncomfortable to sleep in. The shoestring straps seem to slide and my boobs get loose.

MatildaonaWaltzer · 20/10/2020 19:53

My mum used to. Proper Janet reger silk satin / lace confections in ivory and cream. Then she got old and discovered those ankle length, full sleeve, triple thermal ones!

Fairybatman · 20/10/2020 19:53

They take approximately 1.3 milliseconds to ride up around your armpits and then you just feel tangled up all night.

Also if you’ve got big boobs be prepared for strangled booby syndrome Grin

Oly4 · 20/10/2020 19:54

No surely they’re just for entertaining in the bedroom?

MsMeNz · 20/10/2020 19:56

Ha. No. I would look like a silky but lumpy bag of rounded fruit, rolling around in it to boot 😜

BobbinThreadbare123 · 20/10/2020 19:58

Pyjamas are so much better. Those silky things are slippery and uncomfortable.

Sexnotgender · 20/10/2020 19:59

Haha, no.

It’d be up round my neck in about 5 minutes.

doadeer · 20/10/2020 20:00

Oh I do 🤣 not super high quality ones that cost £100 quid but I do wear a silky nightdress. I have a really warm flat so I never get cold.

I have these ones (pics)

IceniWarrior · 20/10/2020 20:01

I have a draw full but just wear knickers and a vest.

Isthisannoying · 20/10/2020 20:02

I can't sleep in any clothes. I have no idea how anyone could sleep in those!

MiddlesexGirl · 20/10/2020 20:03

Me. I find them very comfortable though most of mine are more just above knee length. I have some slightly warmer t-shirt style nighties for when it's colder.
But no jimjams unless I have to go into hospital. I find them annoying. Flappy trouser legs and too much sleeve!

MiddlesexGirl · 20/10/2020 20:03

Mine are like @doadeer posted.

doadeer · 20/10/2020 20:07

I find pj bottoms (or God forbid shorts) horrendous they totally ride up my (big) bum. I like a silky nightie though I do often wake with one boob out ha, which DH likes a lot

lockdownfeelings · 20/10/2020 20:20

@doadeer where are those from, please? Grin

SunshineCake · 20/10/2020 20:21

If you want to get into the habit of wearing them put one on each night..

hollyhope · 20/10/2020 20:21

Agree with doadeer re pyjama bottoms being uncomfortable ( disappearing up your flue).

homemadecommunistrussia · 20/10/2020 20:24

My university boyfriend's mum did

charliebear78 · 20/10/2020 20:30

Partner has bought me similar in the past, but I just find them uncomfortable so sleep in boy shorts and a vest

MillieVanilla · 20/10/2020 20:32

Nope, bloody awful to sleep in.
Ditto sheets of the same material, god knows why I thought they were a good idea 20 years ago. Got rid after 2 nights

My boobs would be out the side within 0.03 seconds in one of those. #blessed
Audreyseyebrows · 20/10/2020 20:34

I wear short ones if I have to wear something to bed (overnight guests or on holiday).
I move too much for pjs and get too hot.

Awrite · 20/10/2020 20:36

Me, never.

My Mum though - she wore these my entire childhood and right up to her 50's or 60's.

Awrite · 20/10/2020 20:37

My Mum is very glamorous though.

doadeer · 20/10/2020 20:38

Shein - super cheap and they actually wash totally fine! They are quite flimsy but thats fine for me, I'm a big fan. I don't mind if my boobs fall out a bit lol, it's just my DH and toddler at home (who I will probably traumatise in years to come)
