Does anyone wear these to bed every night?

These beautiful satin night gowns... we see them in movies but what I wanna know is, does anyone IRL wear them everynight?

I have a small collection of these but cannot wear them to bed. They feel uncomfortable compared to my usual cotton pajamas Blush I'm also afraid I'd feel cold in the morning. But I really want to get into the habit if it's possible as they feel so luxurious Grin

@HemlockStarglimmer

I prefer to wear nothing but if I do I wear satin nightdresses as it is so much easier to turn over in bed in them. Pyjama trousers always ride up (legs and bum) and cotton binds on the sheets and I feel trapped. Best of all would be my own duvet so I could take it with me when I turn over.
According to my DH I wrap myself completely in our duvet and would be Olympic champion if there was a how to steal the duvet event

I wear nothing in bed - pjs I use yo lounge in when I get home from work with H&M linen kimono style dressing gown
If my DH is swag I wear something in bed - cones from bring burgled when in house on my own

Yep.

I regularly wear a silk slip for bed but wouldn’t wear a polyester version. I’m a reynaud’s sufferer & have a naturally low body temp but...christ on a bike... even I would sweat to death wearing polyester in bed! Definitely not for “sexy time” as suggested up thread. It just feels nice to wear luxury fabric & I genuinely sleep better. I also wear cotton pjs but whilst I wear the whole ensemble throughout the evening, I can only tolerate the top half for sleeping in. DH laughs at me & says I look like Winnie the Pooh 🤨 but I can’t stand flapping & twisted pj trousers in the night. Occasionally there may be naked sleeping but I always leave a dressing gown at the foot of the bed &/or pjs at my bedside.

My mother used to. I can't abide wearing clothes to bed, it's just odd and uncomfortable. I have two pairs of cami/shorts style pyjamas if I stay in someone's house (not done that for ages) otherwise I'm in my birthday suit 😂

I used to wear silky nighties as a teenager. Not so much now... 2 year old still breastfeeds in the night and not sure I’d be able to whip a boob out of one of those very quickly?! 😂

Hermionegraingerrules · 24/10/2020 22:27

Only when it’s super hot in summer. House is too cold. I’m now in PJs and socks!!

Super sexy

Urrrgh no, had these when I was in my 20s but there's no way I could be arsed with them now. Cotton vest and (fresh for bed) knickers for me, adding cotton leggings that are slightly too big to ensure comfort. Can't do normal PJ bottoms as they ride up my legs and drive me insane (even the ones with cuffs at the bottom).

Ooh and socks when it's really cold! Normally am OK because I have that Teddy Bear fleecy bedding and a REALLY warm duvet on the bed. But if I ever have to stay in a hotel I take a fleecy onesie and bed socks and still feel cold most of the time.

This thread has reminded me of those crazy days in my 20s when I usually slept naked or in something, erm, 'alluring'. No way I'd be happy now, in my 40s, with that!

OooglyBoogly · 24/10/2020 23:16

Oops that should have been 'adding cotton leggings that are slightly too big, to ensure comfort, in colder weather'.

Why does Mumsnet not allow you to edit posts? Gah.

They are the ultimate for whipping a boob out as I'm in a permenant state of near boob exposure 🤣 especially when I had my huge bf boobs. I loved them for this reason.
Greenteandchives · 25/10/2020 14:07

Yes, but never satin, only silk.
I have this in several colours. Very comfortable but I don’t have much norkage to contain.
I could never wear pyjamas. Far too hot.

My MIL wears this style of long nightdress and long silky dressing gown too - over the years she's tried buying me so to 'make an effort' ... no thanks! The only one I liked was a white cotton version - very plain and kept things in place - but silk ones are horrible

@IceniWarrior

I have a draw full but just wear knickers and a vest.
That would be drawer.

Meh, bit pathetic to call out typos. What ever floats your boat and makes you feel good about yourself.
