Does anyone wear these to bed every night?

These beautiful satin night gowns... we see them in movies but what I wanna know is, does anyone IRL wear them everynight?

I have a small collection of these but cannot wear them to bed. They feel uncomfortable compared to my usual cotton pajamas Blush I'm also afraid I'd feel cold in the morning. But I really want to get into the habit if it's possible as they feel so luxurious Grin

I have one with spaghetti straps but every time I wear it one boob will slip out, often unnoticed, and cause dc great embarrassment!

Funguy · 20/10/2020 20:39

They either fall off or end up under the armpits. I wear the nud.

Gatekeeper · 20/10/2020 20:40

nah- they are nearly all polyester- nasty, sweaty things

I like cotton nighties..swiss cotton batiste for preference

HelpOrHindrance · 20/10/2020 20:42

I had a gorgeous dove grey silk slip but it was all over the place by the morning, and my boob would be downstairs making a cuppa

WinWinnieTheWay · 20/10/2020 20:42

I'm very frumpy, but happy and comfortable at night. PJ's all the way.

isthismylifenow · 20/10/2020 20:43

They are 'look good on the floor' sleepwear.

And then after you pick them up from the floor you wear your old faithful cotton ones.

PontiacBandit · 20/10/2020 20:46

Nope can't wear anything in bed, in end being tangled in tops and wedgied in pj bottoms.

Fink · 20/10/2020 20:48

I have a couple but they're completely impratical: both breasts hanging out and the end riding up somewhere between hip and mid-thigh. Give me pyjamas any day.

Serengetiqueen · 20/10/2020 20:52

I only wear 5 drops of Chanel No 5 in bed and nothing else! 😉

JollyGiraffe12 · 20/10/2020 20:53

I like sleeping in a silk robe but I can’t sleep in just a nightdress as I get cold

ruthieness · 20/10/2020 20:55

I do - they real silk ones and the trick is to replace the straps with elasticated so they flex.

these come with elastic to begin with!

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 20/10/2020 20:56

Ha, I'm wearing one tonight but only because my primark £5 job is in the wash!

OohThatCat · 20/10/2020 20:58

I sleep with one leg at a mad angle at all times and I do not think it can be achieved in that nightie Grin.

I wear pyjamas with bears all over them that have been patched up twice because the elastic keeps going. Much glam.

The nightie does look very pretty though!

HalfBrick · 20/10/2020 20:58

I'd be like a human Vandergraff generator wearing one of those, the static!!

Disorganisedfish · 20/10/2020 21:02

I wear them! I can’t sleep with my legs covered or I get too flustered. I’d rather sleep naked but I don’t want to traumatise my offspring so this is my compromise. My boobs often escape, but they have a mind of their own at the best of times so that’s nothing new

SuperEkstra · 20/10/2020 21:07

@doadeer where are they from, please?!

Boatonthehorizon · 20/10/2020 21:08

I think they're just for sexy times really.
If you're trying to impress that special someone!

Newbeginningsnow · 20/10/2020 21:10

Isn’t it interesting how different we all are.

Some of you can’t have anything on and here’s me covered from neck to toe in jammies and the bottoms are tucked into cosy socks. Blissssss.

TheLastDigestive · 20/10/2020 21:10

God, no!

When I was young and carefree I slept naked. Since my DC were born in a cosy pjs lover.

Silky nighties feel horrible and look a bit reader’s wives. Probably showing my age now Grin.

TheLastDigestive · 20/10/2020 21:11

I’m a cosy pj-lover

doadeer · 20/10/2020 21:17

@SuperEkstra Shein - really cheap I have lots. 🙏

raspberryk · 20/10/2020 21:18

God no I can't stand wearing anything at all in bed.

Mochudubh · 20/10/2020 21:18

No, the straps dig in or it rides up, so pointless.

emerald1981 · 20/10/2020 21:23

@HelpOrHindrance

"I had a gorgeous dove grey silk slip but it was all over the place by the morning, and my boob would be downstairs making a cuppa"

Made me burst out laughing reading this! Grin

Kaiserin · 20/10/2020 21:37

My understanding is that they're meant to be worn for about 5 seconds before being pulled up and thrown onto the bedroom floor?

They look sensual for sure, but the lack of stretchiness makes them terrible garments for sleeping in.
