I quite like the very pale blush shades (like the bottom left dress Mette-Marit is wearing), but I'm not a fan of pink in general.

I don’t mind the odd bit of pink but I’m definitely not a fan of the photo montage pink overload! It’s hard to separate the outfits out somehow with pink (in a way it isn’t with other colours!)

I do like Martha Louise in her shocking pink ball gown with the order/emblem sash & tiara.
As a child that's how I would imagine a princess.
Norway in 1990 changed the rules of succession so that first born of either sex would inherit the throne (those born after the law change)
Martha is older than Haakon so if absolute primogeniture applied when Martha was born then she would be the next Norwegian monarch.

Sweden changed its succession rules in 1980 & applied them retrospectively so that Crown Princess Victoria (as the eldest child) became heir to the the throne & thus replaced Carl Philip (the only son).

In her autobiography Märtha Louise says that she really didn’t want to be crown princess because she’s so shy and anxious, and in the end her grandfather said that it wouldn’t be fair to move the title from Haakon to her because you can’t take a horse out of the race when it’s already started 😉 She was already 15 then.

Yes I’m a similar vintage to CPV and I remember the health troubles she had as a teenager. I don’t think the crown princess life sat easily.

I take it back! There seem to be quite a few pictures of her wearing her hair in curls. Those earrings in MadameMiggeldy's photo are fabulous - I do love a good diamond.

The woman next to SC is Hilda Tafler, who worked on the costumes for some of the Bond films, and next to her is her husband Lewis Gilbert the director of You Only Live Twice. Hylda’s brother was Sidney Tafler, the well known character actor.

The other photo is from an awards ceremony they hosted. Can't quite make up my mind about this outfit.

That yellow and grey dress of Mette-Marit's is certainly unusual. It makes me think of an Orla Kiely mug or blind, for some reason.

Yes interesting dress Miggledy the ruffles (I presume they are ruffles) on M-M's dress look like squiggly writing.

Up in heaven I can see both Sir Sean & Sir Roger having a 'discussion' about who was the best Bond, with Honor & Dame Diana having their work cut out refereeing. Whilst Princess Margaret in the background having a G&T & giving them a look & saying "You are all getting better at acting"
Just been reading Hadley Freeman's article with Helena Bonham Carter in The Guardian. Due to family connections Helena had come across PM a few times & actually told Helena that she was getting better at acting! A back handed compliment.
