How many coats do we think she has?

Love the red coat but then again she is my girl crush so can do no wrong for me! Kate Garraways style has always fascinated me, borders on the edge of draggy and prissy at times but she always seems to pull it off! Do hope her DH gets well and comes home to her soon.

I don’t think Mary’s outfit was that special 🤔 but perfectly respectable. Although it did make me think again about how cold their feet must be in the high heels all the time.

Eaumyword · 08/11/2020 09:38

So its Remembrance Sunday. Apparently there will be a scaled back service with HMQ in attendance and I think they said Charles&Camilla. Hopefully William&Kate there too.
I love watching the service, it's so poignant. Love seeing the stark elegance of the black outfits too on the royals.

Balloondog · 08/11/2020 11:24

It was lovely to see Charles, Camilla, William and Kate supporting the queen this morning - it felt like a peep back to 'normal' times. Covid changes meant the absence of Andrew, Harry and Meghan wasn't quite as obvious as it might have otherwise been.
Not too much of a look at fashion from the bbc coverage but good to see Kate sticking to her standard literal military style coat as ever! Grin I couldn't see if it was a rewear or a new coat as I only got a glimpse.

Kate looked immaculate as usual, I liked her coat.

I think Kate looks super in her military style coat and I like her hat too, with its neat shape and the ribbon decoration reminiscent of a military feather hackle. (I would have been unable to resist wearing red lipstick! Wink )

Lovely to see Camilla's fab pearls getting an outing as well!

Eaumyword · 08/11/2020 12:44

She really is immaculate and with beautiful hair and make up - I always think her elegance is akin to a lady riding side saddle 200yrs ago!
I also thought I saw a glimpse and you'll miss it image of Sophie looking lovely in a grey cape?

frugalkitty · 08/11/2020 12:58

How about this one? Photo of a replica of the Queen's wedding bouquet to be laid on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It struck me that as the Queens wedding photos are in black and white, it extra special to see what the flowers would have looked like in colour.

Think she looks stunning, regal, respectful truly and understated. Her make up is beautiful, .so subtle.

Eaumyword · 08/11/2020 13:08

Oh Frugal, that bouquet is lovely. I've never seen it in colour and it really brings it to life. The black and white wedding pictures of the bouquet make it look a little 'lumpy' but that is beautiful.
Agree that Kate has nailed regal. It's more than an outfit, it's a persona, but she manages it without looking smug or immature. She's not yet 40 but I can really see her as a Queen (although I swing towards republicanism - I'd make an exception for Kate)Grin

LadyMSM · 08/11/2020 13:32

Im an avid watcher of this thread and had to come on to say Duchess Kate today- omg absolutely stunning!!! If her stylists ever review this thread for feedback- job well done!

I agree that the absence of Harry and Megan was a non event and as time goes on eg christmas we will get used to not seeing them.

I really hope we get some christmas snaps this year is it likely a socially distanced church event will happen do we think!?

paradyning · 08/11/2020 14:09

Sorry I think she looks ridiculous

paradyning · 08/11/2020 14:25

It's the fringed epaulettes. Gilding the Lilly. Less is more and all that.
Without them it's a perfectly cut coat.
Camilla's hat is very lovely

Maireas · 08/11/2020 15:01

The bouquet is gorgeous. They have been married 73 years this month. Amazing.
Kate looks sharp and elegant. I'm not keen on all the coat add ons, I'd ditch the epaulettes and some of the other bits, she does look as if she's about to join a Napoleonic campaign.

@Horsemad

I loved Diana's dress. Absolutely loved it.
Me too
IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 08/11/2020 15:23

I haven't been on one of these threads for a few months but I just had to come back after seeing Kate's Sally Army Cosplay outfit from today, I properly laughed out loud when I spotted the fringed epaulette situation.

Does she think she is in the army?!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/11/2020 15:36

I noticed the a few very pale pink roses (well I think they are pale pink unless it's the lighting) in HM's wedding bouquet replica.
If they were pale pink I think it's lovely gesture to her DGM how Bea had those very pale pink O'Hara garden roses in her wedding bouquet & flower arrangements.

The royal ladies all looked very smart but they also looked very tired & a bit weary. I thought Kate & Camilla looked a bit pale.

Horsemad · 08/11/2020 16:05

I thought Kate looked really good and less 'gaunt' than on other occasions.

Hadn't really ever thought about never seeing HM's wedding bouquet in colour before. It does look lovely.

paradyning · 08/11/2020 16:29

Sally Army Cosplay outfit
Exactly this!

paradyning · 08/11/2020 16:31

On the tv Kate's make up looked like she'd overdone the illuminating primer. Maybe that's why she looked a bit white/gaunt?

paradyning · 08/11/2020 16:35

I actually though Kate's silhouette was very Queen Alexandra. Will have to trawl to find the pic I'm thinking of!

latedecember1963 · 08/11/2020 16:39

The Queen's wedding bouquet is beautiful.
It must have been especially lovely after years of things having to be fairly utilitarian during the war years. Although the Royal family were sheltered from the worst privations of the war, such as queuing for rations, for the public I wonder if Princess Elizabeth having beautiful wedding flowers was a sign of things starting to get back to normal?
I suspect people were more deferential in those days and wouldn't question her having fabulous flowers.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/11/2020 16:43

paradyning that's what I thought too.
Kate when at sombre or very important engagements always makes me think of Queen Alexandra.
