Show me what you wear to be warm and cosy when WFH

I'm sitting in my home office with the heating on but am still quite chilly. I'd love to be snuggled up in some sort of mega fluffy fleece coat. I have plenty of warm fleeces but when I sit down they ride up at the back and my lower back gets cold. I have a Bench fleece that goes down to mid thigh but it's not very thick.

Has anyone come across something really warm and comfy that covers your lower back/bottom, that you can put on top of a jumper when WFH with no video calls?

I do the same for video calls. Camera shot no lower than my shoulders.

I spotted this on another thread earlier today. Looks perfect!

Housecoat.

WeirdlyOdd · 15/10/2020 13:35

I work in a cold unheated attic. I've got one of those plug in electric oil radiators and use that to help. Also wear turtle gloves wrist warmers like others here. Sometimes a hotter bottle. When really cold I've got a down body warmer and a down jacket I can layer, but have to take them off for meetings. Lots and lots of cups of tea.

Electric blanket - toasty warm and cheap to run

tofuschnitzel · 15/10/2020 15:40

Please don't laugh, but I use this to keep me warm. I don't wear it on me, I tend to put it on the back of my chair/sofa cushion and sit against it. It's really useful to have.

Well that looks... toasty...

Actually I have an electric fleece blanket. They all laughed when I bought it and - they all alright over it now!

JacobReesMogadishu · 15/10/2020 17:08

I've just ordered some fingerless cashmere turtledove gloves.

Muffinbutton · 15/10/2020 20:50

I've got one of those @tofuschnitzel. Like you I have it on my chair rather than on my body. I've got a bad back so I find it really helpful

Chunky jumper dress, leggings, fluffy socks

jagoda · 15/10/2020 21:31

I am another one who just puts their dressing gown on and then whips it off for VC calls. Always in Uggs and have thermals for when it gets really cold.

I might add to my scarf collection and maybe get some of those wrist warmer thingies.

Oh, and the long socks Smile

WitsEnding · 15/10/2020 21:50

Long knitted woolly waistcoat with short dropped sleeves - it’s so old there are no pictures on the net. I used to wear it in the office with matching trousers.

Alternatively, blue fleecy bedjacket from M &S.

fitbciz1 · 16/10/2020 09:27

Currently have on fleecy joggers, thermal top, t-shirt and oversized cashmere cardi that's basically a wearable blanket. Also fluffy slippers. Blanket and heat pack thing on standby.

Having the heating on during the day just gives me a headache and makes me feel sluggish, so I'd much rather wrap up.

Nasta · 16/10/2020 17:40

I am a new owner of a knockoff oodie ( from savers £15). Super cosy 🥰

slipperyeel · 16/10/2020 18:37

Heather Vest
Slippers
Layers
Wool jumper, not man made fabric
Electric blanket on chair
Fingerless gloves

slipperyeel · 16/10/2020 18:38

Heatgen vest not heather vest FFS

Sweetchillijam · 16/10/2020 19:18

Being menopausal I set off on a morning being too warm and get chillier throughout the day then overheat then get really chilly repeat. I currently have a fleece jacket on the back of my chair which is on and off umpteen times a day. But this afternoon I relented and put the heating on. I am thinking of getting out a shoulder warmer thing I brought from Lidl last year (like an electric blanket for shoulders but could place it anywhere out of site for a video call) and also keen on turtle doves. As well as the cost of having the heating on all day it gives me a headache and makes me feel crappy and sluggish.

Sexnotgender · 16/10/2020 19:20

I bought a heated blanket.

Greenglassteacup · 16/10/2020 19:27

Just googled ‘Oodie’. They’re awful and so expensive!

SynchroSwimmer · 16/10/2020 19:32

I’m a big fan of faux-fur gilets as daywear to keep warm.
Plus fake fur blankets in animal prints from T K Maxx - sort of feel like I have to give them a good home 😂

CHATTERBOXER · 16/10/2020 19:45

Bigger size than normal thermal vest and long johns!

AlfieandAnnieRose · 16/10/2020 20:55

@SweetAlmondOil how did you get on with the Amazon oodie? I’ve ordered one too and I’m hoping it’s as good as the real thing!

DoingItForTheKid · 16/10/2020 22:34

Lsnds End fleeces. Perfect and can wash a million times.

DoingItForTheKid · 16/10/2020 22:35

Also a Dyson heater. £400 but worth it.

I haven't received it yet but I'm so looking forward to trying it on. My OH looked horrified when I told him about it Grin
