Show me what you wear to be warm and cosy when WFH

I'm sitting in my home office with the heating on but am still quite chilly. I'd love to be snuggled up in some sort of mega fluffy fleece coat. I have plenty of warm fleeces but when I sit down they ride up at the back and my lower back gets cold. I have a Bench fleece that goes down to mid thigh but it's not very thick.

Has anyone come across something really warm and comfy that covers your lower back/bottom, that you can put on top of a jumper when WFH with no video calls?

I use a blanket for this purpose, but I'll be interested in other answers (I could always be warmer when WFH!).

Whoiswrongg · 12/10/2020 16:12

My neighbour has an Oodie and loves it! I’m tempted

JacobReesMogadishu · 12/10/2020 16:13

I have a knock off Oodie from Amazon, Cost £22 It's very warm.

I've been wfh for nearly ten years and blankets are the way to go - I have a super big fleecy one that I double over part way up so it comes up to my waist but still covers all my legs and feet.

If it's a super-cold day, I'll also have a short fleece dressing gown on top of my clothes plus fingerless gloves. I do have a fan heater for the dead of winter but I don't like putting it on unless I'm desperate :D

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 12/10/2020 16:13

An oversize plush fleece hoodie from Amazon and microwavable slipper boots.

Or onesie.

Sparticle · 12/10/2020 16:14

But I didn't know about these oodie things (I've had the short dressing gown for years) - I'd get one of those instead for non-video calls!

thedevilinablackdress · 12/10/2020 16:15

I've resorted to cuddling a hot water bottle today

SweetAlmondOil · 12/10/2020 16:17

Thank you @JacobReesMogadishu - I might just get myself one.

@Sparticle goodness how I'd love to see a picture :-D :-D :-D

I wear these, they keep my wrists warm which helps with my hands. They’ve made a massive difference to how warm I feel l.

Goodness, Oodie marketing really is everywhere right now.

Roodog · 12/10/2020 17:45

Turtle doves gloves and a blanket, plus sometimes I throw on a shawl/poncho thing too. Have to still look vaguely presentable for teams calls so can't wear the big hoodie things, otherwise I probably would.

Bananaman123 · 12/10/2020 17:56

ugg boots, joggers and big jumper or tshirt with warm cardi

Lndnmummy · 12/10/2020 18:18

Anyone else just putting the heating on?

Dazedandconfused10 · 12/10/2020 18:29

Primark fleece lined leggings

foxtiger · 12/10/2020 18:29

I was WFH from March to July and it was still quite cold at the beginning of that time. One thing I found really useful was a poncho which I'd never really worn much before that. I could just put it on over whatever I was wearing and warm up very quickly, and unlike a scarf it didn't keep falling off. I think mine comes down to about the bottom of my bum in the middle, and it also has a cowl neck, which makes it very warm.

linerforlife · 12/10/2020 18:32

I wear knitted loungewear trousers and sets - most recent set is from Boohoo so doesn't have to be expensive. With my hair and make up done I still look professional for zoom calls, as the majority of knitted sets are slash or high necks rather than hoodie style. I layer with a vest and a long sleeve top, cashmere socks if needed but usually my Ugg slippers (not boots!). Only really need to add more than this in very very cold weather - then I add cashmere wrist warmers and a scarf, and a blanket over my knees.

zenasfuck · 12/10/2020 18:43

Primary fleece lined leggings, ugg slippers, long sleeves t short and long fluffy cardigan seems to be my basic working from home and keeping warm wardrobe

I did buy a lovely fleece/ fluffy jumper from next last week which is super cosy

AnaViaSalamanca · 12/10/2020 19:13

Cashmere shawl (from brora). They are quite big and warm

And heat a large house just to warm up the home office? We have a separate heater in this room but it's still chilly.

Put your heating on! I am often cold at work, but never wfh.

QueenOllie · 12/10/2020 19:25

Tuck everything in if you're not seen! So socks over trousers, long vest tucked in etc. Helps a lot

dementedma · 12/10/2020 19:27

Heated throw over the knees and tucked round the back. Fingerless gloves or wrist warmers - Woolovers or Turtle Doves. Longs socks with trousers, leggings tucked in. Wear a vest.

FenellaMaxwell · 12/10/2020 19:30

I wear long tunic type jumpers, always in a size up and layer a vest and long sleeve t under

HeyLala · 12/10/2020 20:20

Thermal tights and vests from M&S under everything, and pashminas
