No comments on today?

I was a bit bored earlier so watched one of the unboxing videos on YouTube. It wasn't disappointing!

I'll still wait and open on the correct days though. Hoping of course that I'll win the voucher. Was it £1,000 ?

TinyTroubleMaker · 20/12/2020 19:33

thechosen fair enough, can see with make up they'll find it hard to pick products that will suit everyone. What would you love to see included, out of interest?

TheChosenTwo · 20/12/2020 19:42

Yes it’s really hard to find makeup items that will suit everyone, I’m not sure there’s anything truly ‘universal’ that will suit everyone. I do try to choose a calendar with minimal makeup that I know I won’t use for this exact reason. I felt this one was the best value for me, I’ve given away a few things but I knew from the outset which things I’d not use.
I suppose I’d like to see bronzers which are deep enough, lipsticks that aren’t ‘nude’ because we all have different coloured skin so a nude lipstick just makes my lips disappear as ‘nude’ is more often than not the same colour or tone as my face.
I love a black eyeliner and mascara although I know some far prefer brown. I’ve not tried brown and I wouldn’t be tempted to go out of my way and buy it but I’d try it in a calendar. Other makeup items I’d be happy to receive are deep or bright shaded lip pencils (as opposed to the dreaded nude/peach/pink), was so impressed by the blush/highlight product yesterday so more things like that because they suit me... can’t think of anything else specific but I do just tend to buy makeup when I fancy it. I used to subscribe to loads of subscription boxes when I was trying to work out what suited me but it was just a massive waste of money for me. I kept virtually nothing each month from lots of the boxes.
I know there’s a product coming up that I don’t personally use (makeup category, don’t want to spoil it for anyone who genuinely doesn’t know!) but I will give this one a go because the colours look like they might work for me.
I just think makeup in calendars is the same as in sub boxes, they’re never going to please everyone all the time but it’s nice to at least be able to use a few bits even if you can’t make use of everything.
I like the serum today, I’ve had it before and I’ve added this to my drawer for when I’ve finished my big one up.

TheChosenTwo · 20/12/2020 19:43

Sorry, that was so long and rambly Blush

MiaN · 21/12/2020 08:12

yesterday's serum was great. Pillow spray is not as interesting but I use them and enjoy them

Dailyhandtowelwash · 21/12/2020 11:10

As someone who can’t tolerate the smell of lavender, this is the fourth product reeking of it across Cult Beauty and Space NK! I don’t think I’m hugely unusual. I tried two other people to pass them on to who also hate the smell before success. I get multiple calendars increases the risk but two products in each is a bit much.

chosen with you on the nude lips, bit boring and I much prefer brighter colours.

Can't remember what else is in this Calendar so it will be a suprise...

HotSince63 · 21/12/2020 13:26

I'm quite underwhelmed by today's item. It'll get used but meh.

I though yesterday's serum smelled a bit funky but it felt nice on my skin.

One thing I've used a bit and like very much is the Living Proof shampoo, I will definitely be ordering more. Oh and the Molton Brown shower gel. I usually stick to Blissful Templetree but I will now branch out!

TheChosenTwo · 21/12/2020 13:36

I love the smell of this pillow spray but it literally lasts seconds! I made up my bed with fresh sheets this morning,
Sprayed liberally and went to put the dirty sheets in the wash. By the time I came back to my room, there was no smell whatsoever and even when I put my face on my pillow there was barely a trace of it Confused such a disappointment! It was a nice light fragrance which I liked but no staying power whatsoever. Definitely not something I’ll be buying again!

TinyTroubleMaker · 22/12/2020 04:51

Bit confused, you all got a pillow spray in 21?

I got something else. Have double checked, and opened 22.. definitely the correct days...

LizzieMacQueen · 22/12/2020 09:17

@TinyTroubleMaker did you do what I did on the 11th, mistake a 4 for a 1 ? The content of the 24th is lovely & christmassy.

Betsy88 · 22/12/2020 09:27

@TinyTroubleMaker I totally mistook 24 for 21 yesterday and opened that by mistake (then got confused at the pillow spray comments). Maybe you did too?

PrincessWatermelon · 22/12/2020 10:34

I'm getting muddled with what I'm meant to be putting on my skin!! I feel like I've got too many small bottles of potions.

I normally use a Clarins serum am/pm and a moisturiser. Done. Now I have 4 different serums (plus my normal one plus one from another calendar). I don't know what to do with today's gift - is this oil somehow different to the other facial oil? Which incidentally makes my face really greasy.
And even the Oskia mask sounds scary - lactic acid micro-peel?? I feel like there are too many chemicals and my skin is going to be stripped away!!

Can anyone calm me down and give some advice? I mean, do you use one serum til the end or chop and change? If I use the Prism one, it has AHA and BHA. Is it then best to avoid lactic-acid or retinol?

I feel like I'm worrying too much and almost can't enjoy the treats, as I'm fretting about what to use when and with what!

MiaN · 22/12/2020 10:57

Vit C serum am
Retinol oil every second night
Oskia OR herbivore mask once or twice weekly on night you are not using retinol
Barbara Strum or DDG or the Votary oil as you wish I think. Maybe after the acid mask

TinyTroubleMaker · 22/12/2020 13:56

Lizzie & Betsy yes just went to check, that's exactly what I did Blush

That leaves just one suprise, tomorrow.

LizzieMacQueen · 22/12/2020 14:11

Ha ha. Thought that might be the case. Remember there's a 25 to open too.

TinyTroubleMaker · 22/12/2020 18:12

You are right, 2 more surprises.

I won't spoil it for anyone but 24 is a lovely choice.

TinyTroubleMaker · 23/12/2020 08:13

Nude lip Grin

Peridot1 · 23/12/2020 09:16

Thought of you lot when I opened the nude lipstick!

I had mixed feelings for yesterday’s - I love JSS products but have so many retinol products to get through. Including his. Would have preferred something else. Might sell that one.

Haven’t actually used anything from the calendar yet! But I’m feeling a bit sad it’s nearly done.

Housewife2010 · 23/12/2020 11:53

Today's Stoned Rose lipstick is one of the items I was looking forward to most. I've just tried it on now and I'm really disappointed as it's so orange. I was expected a coral toned rosy nude but it is quite a gingery nude. I know Sali Hughes loves this shade and we have similar colouring so I was hoping it would look great. I'd bought the Walk of No Shame lip set in the Cult Beauty sale this week and that is beautiful.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 23/12/2020 11:56

I’ve got Walk of No Shame today I think.

TheChosenTwo · 23/12/2020 12:33

I got stoned rose, a godawful (on me) pinky peach, it would make me look like death not even warmed up! That ones has gone in the pile of things to give my friend Grin

Housewife2010 · 23/12/2020 12:56

I'm going to try it again tomorrow with makeup on and see if I can make it work. We left the house early for Covid tests so I'm makeup free. It just looks so orange. I love the Glowing Jen in the same kissing formula so had high hopes for this one.

Betsy88 · 23/12/2020 13:36

It is orange isn’t it? Didn’t expect that. Ditto it had been one of items I’d been most excited about. I do look particularly pale/grey/bloodyknackeredfromthisgod awfulyear at the moment which probably doesn’t complement it that well. Once I’ve got a bit of colour back in my cheeks it might look better.

MiaN · 23/12/2020 13:56

I am really shocked how orangey it is! Not sure if it's complete ney for me yet but not what I was expecting
