@OublietteBravo I love the dress. @happytobemrsg that’s a good colour jumper

DDs nurse is calling today. She has to have a specialist test to go to specialist lab which 3 times has been f**d up, wrong bottle, wrong form twice. They want retest done tomorrow but we are going to refuse as it’s her op day and it will be stressful enough. We have enough of her FBC come back to know she can cope with the op ( she’s not neutropenic for example which she often is) and that’s enough fir this week. If I had the energy I’d complain as this test was required by GP not her usual regimen of tests . Anyway, hopefully nurse can help

I’ve spent half an hour trying on my coated jeans in an effort to make them Look different from coated leggings. Hmm. Any ideas?
Jumper: sezane
Cami: M&S
Coated Jeans: Boden
Trainers:whistles

I met a woman I know yesterday who always looks amazing - she has a unique style that is never ‘in’ or ‘out’ of fashion. It helps that she is tall abs stunningly beautiful. I was so glad that I was dressed up for my meeting instead of in my leggings and top uniform of the past few months. Between seeing her and being on this board I realised that I love clothes and I do not want to stick to a uniform of leggings and puffer coat. So, I dug out my clothes and did a try out last night. Now, I won’t be wearing dresses until the Spring, but my daily walk will be stylish once again.

Coat - Whistles
Jumper - Primark
Jeans - Zara
Boots - M and S

I topped it off with a cream woollen hat.

The jeans are selvedge denim - so super soft and comfy, why did I think only leggings were comfy??

@Sooverthemill hope dd is okay, you are having such a stressful time ThanksRe. the coated jeans I love them with oversized chunky knit longline jumpers (in fact my lovely Mum has ordered me a Hush Meryl for Xmas which will go perfectly). Also lovely with blouses and long cardigans. Are they the Hush ones? They look great.

Hello @whiteonesugar. I'm a new girl too and everyone is lovely and friendly 😊

I've finished changing over my summer clothes (so much unworn this year) for winter stuff and am determined to wear as much of it as possible this year.

Dress - Whistles
Scarf - Pretty Special boutique in Tewkesbury
Polo jumper - John Lewis
Coatigan - Holebrook
Boots - Orca Bay

Btw @Sooverthemill nineteen pairs of jeans Blush
Some are "resting" though as they seem to have shrunk a little over lockdown!

itssquidstella · 26/11/2020 07:32

@whiteonesugar welcome!

I like your outfit, @jilliwilliwoo, especially the scarf.

I'm wearing black trousers and shirt from

OublietteBravo · 26/11/2020 08:05

@whiteonesugar - welcome to the thread.

Today I’m experimenting with thermal leggings + silk trousers to see if I can extend some of my summer wardrobe into winter. I’m also trying to stay away from internet shopping and the Black Friday offers. Because I really don’t need any more clothes.

Base layer: Hobbs
Jumper: Boden
Trousers: Jigsaw
Boots: Ecco

Sooverthemill · 26/11/2020 08:28

@jilliwilliwoo haha. I think I have even more but when I can get my head round it I’m culling and eBaying ones I just don’t wear.
@Ellapaella thank you. It’s definitely been tougher than usual recently and I’m shattered and so worried. The usually excellent surgery is letting us down I feel at present. I understand how stretched they are but this is her life. Also the coated jeans yes god ideas but that’s what I wear with leggings and am searching on Pinterest for different ideas

Also in my crap life new dishwasher has lost a spray arm and the clip is broken. Spent two hours on phone trying to get first the robot and then humans to come and fix it. Annoying because robot kept cutting me off as it didn’t understand my Russian surname was real so now am paying local man just to get it done
@OublietteBravo great idea and I love the trousers

Am very comfy today for long car journey and stressful day physically and emotionally.
Jumper: white stuff ( am considering the other colour way)
Jeans: MIH fast becoming my go to jeans
Shoes: lk Bennett but will wear boots to go to london and will add a big scarf rather than a coat as we can park right outside and only doing clinic nothing else.
Wish me luck!

OublietteBravo · 26/11/2020 08:47

Good luck @Sooverthemill - I hope everything goes smoothly today.

(I’m also very tempted to get the White Stuff jumper in the other colour).

happytobemrsg · 26/11/2020 09:08

I hope today goes well @Sooverthemill

Today is my “Friday” as I do a 4 day week. Back to one of my absolute favourite dungarees 🥰

Jumper: Only
Dungarees: Run and Fly
Necklace: Alighieri (for good quality, but not solid gold, jewellery I really recommend Alighieri. I have two necklaces & they are great quality & a bit different)

Thinking of you today @Sooverthemill

I think @Ellapaella 's docs are in the black Friday sale, I am sure someone was after them?

@OublietteBravo I know what you mean about not needing anything, however yesterday I ordered one of the longer jumpers from Sweaty Betty, I have been hankering after one for a while and then some floral high tops on Office that I loved but no doubt will go back. They have been delivered this morning but I haven't looked at them yet. Whilst on Next ordering Christmas presents I also ordered some cosy joggers for working from home and walking the dog and a teddy bear fleece, totally not stylish but practical, when they arrive they may also go back. I think my shopping is more practical things rather than nice dresses and tops.

Love the pop of colour of your scarf @jilliwilliwoo

The polo neck under the shirt is a great idea @itssquidstella, I have a shirt I really like but the material is not great, I could put a nice tshirt under it and this may make it nicer to wear.

@whiteonesugar those leggings were on a blog I follow yesterday and I was tempted but the reality is that I have the coated skinnies from River Island and I don't wear those enough as it is.

Today Oasis Lily skinnies and pink cable knit from Gap, thick socks. will wear my docs when I go out.

Sickoffamilydrama · 26/11/2020 09:46

Good luck @Sooverthemill
Thanks @Terralee not sure it works with the trousers but it was worth a try.

Thanks for the welcomes :)

Hopefully I will get to know you all a little over time.

Loving the idea of stretching the summer wardrobe with thermal layers!

Today I'm in black skinnies - New look, a teal balloon sleeve sweatshirt - primark and chunky white trainers from Zara.

Have a good day! I'll progress to pics soon :)

toastfiend · 26/11/2020 13:02

Love your outfit today @Sickoffamilydrama. The shirt and jeans are both fab!

@Sooverthemill great outfit. Hope your DD's procedure goes really well today and that the journey isn't too stressful.

Welcome @whiteonesugar. Smile

@Softpebbles I think that was me! I was super tempted by them this morning. Trying to resist as I've been a bit spendy this week, but they're on my Christmas list so hopefully DH or my parents will be feeling generous...😂

Bit smarter than usual today as got a virtual work event later. Doubt they'll see much more of me than my head and shoulders for most of it, but I feel more professional than if I sit there in my jeans or joggers, anyway.

Top - H&M
Skirt - Boden, bought preloved
Boots - Fairfax & Favor

Awesome dungas @happytobemrsg. And I love that top @Sickoffamilydrama. I am sad to say I am slipping back into my leggings habit. Will try harder tomorrow. Today its Fabletics leggings, with cardigan from All Saints and camisole from Marks. Impulse buy furry slides from Amazon. A word of warning all - stay away from internet shopping today if you are trying to avoid ‘yet more stuff’. Already gone mad in Sweaty Betty and All Saints - oops!

@toastfiend I love those boots. I follow them on Facebook and I could never justify them but their boots are just so elegant and practical.

Cross posts @happytobemrsg. Love those dungarees too. X

Greyhairwarmheart · 26/11/2020 16:10

Thanks everyone. It was so very hard. First time in the car for DD since may 2014 when we liberated her from hospital ( ambulance would have taken 8 hours to come). She did amazingly but getting her up and down stairs ( she can't bear weight) was really hard and painful for her and she's covered in bruises. The drive itself was okay but accessibility to wheelchair friendly toilets was terrible! Ie closed, blocked, not actually able to get wheelchair in) we were out of the house from 11.30 until about 10pm) . Procedure itself went well and she now no longer has tonsils. Took 8 minutes. Doc made some moronic comments about ME and how she needed to motivate herself to get better ( why haven't we thought of that?). But he was okay medically. And it cost £350 less than expected. I ate crap all day and drank virtually nothing and fog/ traffic/ road closures made return journey great fun. But it was a bit like a day out, and DH told DD funny stories like he used to when she was a little one and I didn't kill him when he got distracted and missed the turning off the M25 ( which is insane as it's the turning for his father/ step mum's house!). It was desperately exciting driving past the big retail centres an hour and a half from where we live but I've never been and DD got to see the estuary which is rather beautiful ( she's only ever been in an ambulance).

I have clothes coming, a hush jumpsuit and a Levi tshirt, and clothes being returned today. I will get dressed much much later as I'm still so exhausted my outfit yesterday lasted about 10 minutes before excitable Percy jumped up and planted what I think was cow poo all over me 😂
