For a size 10 woman in her early thirties FWIW, thinking of the Oak colour. I keep going back and forth... I want a stylish warm raincoat - is this as good as it gets?

It is functional. You need a functional coat living here!

Bluntness100 · 13/09/2020 19:40

It reminds me of hayleys in coronation street. Just in a different colour.

I'm mid 30s and would think it's a bit old for me

Paddingtonthebear · 13/09/2020 19:46

I’m early 40’s and ordered this recently. I have returned it for two reasons, the main one being it’s quite shapeless and I am quite short so it didn’t look great.

Soapysoap · 13/09/2020 19:46

That's an awful lot of money for an anorak 😬
And I dont like it
I'm early 30s size 12
Try river island, Dorothy Perkins, new look etc. Some lovely trendy stuff and decent quality too

LizzieMacQueen · 13/09/2020 19:46

Try Agu clothing, think they're Dutch so know a bit about waterproof clothes.

This is £130.

Perhaps not cool but a bit dressed down, less fuss about it.

Dinner Lady coat! Hayley! Ok you’re putting me off a bit now Grin

I like the Protected Species coat a lot but it’s not warm is it? Not a winter coat... maybe I could layer it up but it looks a bit sleek for that.

Protected species have a winter parka

W3dontdoduvets · 13/09/2020 19:49

It’s a coat you might see for sale in a Sunday supplement.

DrDetriment · 13/09/2020 19:49

Very mumsy. It's a bit of a given up on life coat. What about a trench coat? Less frumpy.

Paddingtonthebear · 13/09/2020 19:50

@LizzieMacQueen. Do Agu do any really warm winter coats or just rain coats?

vanillandhoney · 13/09/2020 19:50

I'm 31 and wouldn't wear it.

My 62 year old mum has one practically identical to it though Grin

mallowa · 13/09/2020 19:50

frumpy :(

frumpety · 13/09/2020 19:51

It's a very practical coat, it will keep you warm and dry. If you are looking for edgy and urban this is possibly not the coat for you. Smile

dooratheexplorer · 13/09/2020 19:52

I really like it but I am quite a lot older than you and now prefer staying dry and warm over being a slave to fashion.

dooratheexplorer · 13/09/2020 19:53

Also, Seasalt are very well made.

fantasmasgoria1 · 13/09/2020 19:53

It's practical and if you like it then get it. It doesn't matter how old you are though! I would not wear it myself!

Beautiful3 · 13/09/2020 19:54

I think it's nice.

BlueTitsRock · 13/09/2020 19:58

Protected species have a winter parka

it's lovely but eye watering expensive.

TheRealHousewife · 13/09/2020 19:59

Noooooo! I have a very very similar one that Joules released a couple of years ago in the yellow colour. It’s lounging at the back of the wardrobe as I always feel like a fisherman in it.

frumpety · 13/09/2020 20:01

I suppose you could go wild and have more than one coat ? I don't personally own any, but I find them cumbersome and too hot 362 days of the year !

VioletCharlotte · 13/09/2020 20:02

It looks warm and practical, but I think you could get something very similar for a third of the price. I wouldn't pay £150 for it!

lowlandLucky · 13/09/2020 20:02

I like it

LizzieMacQueen · 13/09/2020 20:03

@Paddingtonthebear They say they have warm layers. I've ordered this one, expecting it tomorrow, so I'll report back.

I also tried a seasalt one but sent it back, something about the waist bothered me, too loose so this belted one might suit me better.
