I'll start. This is an Avon one - Unforgettable. I'm not usually one for pinks but I think it's glorious!

I am wearing Boots No7 Rosy Ribbon. It is the only make up I am wearing today apart from frantically drawn on eyebrows. My phone was off and I eventually checked it to find work has been trying to get me as one receptionist off sick.

RedLipsAndRosyCheeks · 21/09/2020 07:08

Today I'm wearing revlon ultra matte in 6 devotion. It's a pinky brown neutral.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 21/09/2020 15:00

Today is a yes style favourite. Tonymoly Moschino staytint. Does not budge. Went for my flu jab today so had to mask up.
No smearing or transfer.

Love this thread. Smile

Mademoiselle by Chanel, my daily comfort blanket.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/09/2020 16:37

Today I'm wearing MAC Be Silly - a neon pink.

Maireas · 21/09/2020 16:38

I love lipstick but can't wear any because of masks! How do you manage??

DeRigueurMortis · 21/09/2020 17:13

Charlotte Tilbury - Bond Girl

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 21/09/2020 17:21

Has anyone had the HUDA Demi matte lip glosses? I'm obsessed with them. Currently working on buying aaaall of the colours.

JMAngel1 · 21/09/2020 18:12

That TonyMoly looks gorgeous.

WinifredSanderson · 21/09/2020 18:15

I'm wearing Nyx Transylvania and I love it

Maireas · 21/09/2020 18:54

No tips folks??

WouldBeGood · 21/09/2020 18:59

@Maireas I just wear mine as normal. It helps me know which way round the mask goes on 😂

InglouriousBasterd · 21/09/2020 19:11

As I think there must be some lipstick experts here can I ask a question? I love lipstick and would love to wear it but it always dries my lips to such an extent I end up with a cold sore within a day of wearing it Sad

Any ideas what lipsticks might not cause this? I always go for moisturising / conditioning ones but still the same outcome.

Maireas · 21/09/2020 19:29

I'll just give up wearing it for the forseeable, until mask wearing is no longer required! Maybe 2025 Confused

frustrationcentral · 21/09/2020 20:35

I've just got into wearing something on my lips - the most daring I've had is tinted lip balm Grin

I bought a Revlon cloud blotted lip colour in Hazelnut and it's really lovely! Colour is perfect and so light on

Lip stains or tints. See my post above.

I simply apply, blot with a tissue, reapply, blot again then very lightly powder my lips.

The powder stops the lipstick "sticking" to the mask and the repeat applications create layers that have more staying power.

You do need a really good fine milled powder though and use very sparingly.

That sounds very odd.

First thought are you using the same lipstick as if so it could be contaminated with the cold sore virus?

If not I'd try applying Zovirax to my lips first to both provide a viral barrier and moisturise before applying lipstick which I'd do by putting the lipstick in my hand/palate and applying with a lip brush (that I'd clean) to stop the lipstick 💄 being in contact with the virus.

I'd also look at very moisturising formulas by brands like "lipstick queen".

@Amortentia

I found CT pillow talk looked weird on me too. I’m very pale but have a neutral to warm skin tone and ginger hair and it looked orange on me. I haven’t used any of my LE lipsticks in ages I’ll need to get them out.

But, my most worn recently has been Revolution lip creme in Chauffeur, a perfect nude brown. It’s super cheap and lasts for hours and doesn’t transfer on to a face mask, so perfect right now. It does have a weird smell, but it passes very quickly, definitely worth a try.

I’m planning on getting a few of the Chanel rouge duo liquid lipsticks, anyone tried them? What did you think? Any colour recommendations?

I'm another one who Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk just doesn't work on.

It totally washes me out.

On the other hand Bond Girl and Walk of Shame are amongst my favourite lipstick shades ever.

I think it might be as my natural lip colour is quite rosy deep even though my skin is reasonably fair and those shades are actually "nude" for me.

So just a heads up for anyone who didn't like PT you might want to check out the shades I mentioned.

I'd really like to get on with lipstick, but feel silly in it. Like a kid dressing up. Some people wear lipstick and even in bright colours they sit well on their face, look natural of you see what I mean, but it feels like lipstick stands out of my face.

Here is a pic of half of my face 😁, any colour suggestions? What sort of thing do you reckon?

Oh good I loved this thread last time I’m wearing Mac velvet teddy today it’s similar to pillow talk but more flattering I think .

Ponks · 21/09/2020 22:35

@IndecentFeminist that's how I feel , somehow now I'm a bit older, the lipsticks I've got just aren't sitting right on me and I want to wipe them off. However I've got a bit of a yearning for a lovely long lasting red shade, no idea what one to try in these days of no testers.

You're like me with quite a lot of natural colour in your lips that can make some colours look a bit odd (I posted earlier about CT Pillow Talk that "everyone" looks good in but looks awful on me).

A great "starter" lipstick I'd recommend is Lipstick Queen - Jean Queen.

www.spacenk.com/uk/en_GB/makeup/lips/lipstick/jean-queen-lipstick-MUK200006339.html

It's really moisturising and very slightly sheer and I think would look great with your colouring.

It's my go to lipstick for everyday other than CT Bond girl/walk of shame but the latter two are matte and more "full on" so I think that would be a great intro lipstick to start you off.
