I'll start. This is an Avon one - Unforgettable. I'm not usually one for pinks but I think it's glorious!

I am wearing Mac ‘a dozen carnations’ - a kind of coral. It’s the closest to a red lip I can get away with. I mourn the loss of the old Rimmel ‘burning desire’ first chosen for me by my daughter many years ago when she was five... a colour long discontinued.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 16/09/2020 13:37

Pat McGrath lip balm in Blow Up, a basic nude tone (it looks darker in the pictures on her website).
I bought a set of minis on sale - it's a nice tinted lip balm, but not worth £28.

dangerdestroy · 16/09/2020 15:27

A fellow Pillow Talk failure her. Ugh, pretty awful on me.
Mac Brave, which has great staying power but is quite matt, and a lick of Mac Syrup over it.

twilightcafe · 16/09/2020 15:48

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Intense

Very meh if I wear it alone. Works much better on me when paired with a dark brown lip liner

Pillow Talk Intense on me:

I have quite a few CT lipsticks and Pillow Talk is probably one of the better ones, quality wise.

I find that a lot of them aren't that good - uneven/patchy, apply badly, don't last well and just don't look very nice on (sink into lines, enhance dry bits, wear badly).

I don't really get the hype of Pillow Talk. It's not that fantastic or unique.

Amortentia · 16/09/2020 22:08

I found CT pillow talk looked weird on me too. I’m very pale but have a neutral to warm skin tone and ginger hair and it looked orange on me. I haven’t used any of my LE lipsticks in ages I’ll need to get them out.

But, my most worn recently has been Revolution lip creme in Chauffeur, a perfect nude brown. It’s super cheap and lasts for hours and doesn’t transfer on to a face mask, so perfect right now. It does have a weird smell, but it passes very quickly, definitely worth a try.

I’m planning on getting a few of the Chanel rouge duo liquid lipsticks, anyone tried them? What did you think? Any colour recommendations?

RiskIt4Biscuit · 17/09/2020 11:07

Those Chanel duo liquid lipsticks look really interesting. I can't get my head around a glossy finish that doesn't smear while wearing a mask.

Today, I'm wearing Lisa Eldridge Skyscraper Rose. It's amazing.

I'm not so glad brand-wise today!
Rimmel- Asia.

Oh I love this thread but thanks to mask wearing I’ve had to temporarily give it up
I muss bright pink lips!
Some llovely shades here girls

VinylDetective · 17/09/2020 11:16

@BorsetshireBlueBalls

Oh, I bought the Pillow Talk as well- because it looks good on EVERYONE they said. Well...sorry, no. I think I have exactly the wrong skin tone (quite fair, yellow undertones) and it just looks bland, too brown, not pink enough. On the plus side, it feels great and smells fabulous, so I just mix it with a better colour. Is there a good red in CT?
It makes me look like a corpse so you’re not alone. I’ve found two “suits everyone” shades - Marc Jacobs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Tom Ford Indian Rose.
ohmercy · 17/09/2020 12:05

Nars, Dolce vita. After I'd rescued it from toddler who had squished it between his fingers!

CleverCatty · 17/09/2020 12:08

@WouldBeGood

Ooh, I love a nice lipstick. Am searching for the perfect orangey red, but it’s tricky as my lips are quite pink and alter the shade.

I’ve been wearing a Rita Ora for Rimmel pinky lip crayon thing with Nars orgasm gloss on top. I’ll mate a proper lipstick effort tomorrow!

WouldBeGood - what are the Rita Ora (I know they're discontinued) lip crayons like? I love a good lip crayon
Pickles89 · 17/09/2020 12:09

I've never worn lipstick before!

Oh! There is a lipstick for everyone! Or a lip crayon or coloured balm etc
VinylDetective · 17/09/2020 12:15

There are many. I don’t know anyone who looks better without it.

amieejust · 17/09/2020 12:15

Clinique Runway Coral - sadly now discontinued but luckily I had two spare.

CleverCatty · 17/09/2020 12:20

The other week after I'd been shopping all afternoon I went into MAC just before it closed and was after a new lipstick, they were really helpful and I picked up one of their new ones - Sexy But Sweet will find the name - really nice but it really smells and not in a good way either, it's just the way they are apparently. Quite nice on though.

I hadn't been shopping for makeup for ages (since just before lockdown) and most of my makeup buys during lockdown were online - I got a Morphe lipcrayon in Lylas (rosy pink) which I love which is quite matte.

movingonup20 · 17/09/2020 12:24

None, wearing a mask, not wasting my money. I have clear lip balm given to me in a Christmas basket from body shop

movingonup20 · 17/09/2020 12:26

Does anyone know if any places have testers? My long wear no rub off max factor has run out and colour is discontinued Angry That would work with a mask as it won't stain it

Not sure about testers, sorry. But, is the long wear Max Factor the one that comes in two pieces, one in a tube and the other a stick of balm? I managed to track one down on amazon.
Amortentia · 17/09/2020 12:41

I've been trying out loads of Liquid lipsticks recently because they stay on and don't smudge because of mask wearing. Revolution creme and Matt formulas are great. The maybeline superstar matte ink is phenomenal but I think I picked the wrong shade. The Lancôme and Charlotte Tilbury were very good but I couldn't honestly say they were any better than the revolution. Revlon Ultra HD is good too.

QueenPaws · 17/09/2020 12:56

These are my new faves. Great packaging, matching nail polish and they show the colours on all skin tones

Today I’m wearing a red Clinique chubby stick - took a pic to upload but no one needs to see a close up of my wrinkles! So here’s a stock pic I found instead.

I must be the only person who doesn’t suit Mac’s Ruby Woo so on that basis, not bothered with CT Pillow Talk.

If there’s any recommendations for a non drying liquid lipstick, I’d be interested, the few I’ve tried thus far are too drying.
