Is my new dress really that bad?

I've been eyeing this dress up for ages but it was £50 so never purchased, I bagged it in the sale yesterday for £22. I love it, I've got black heeled sock boots that can dress it up a little, black ankle boots (optional tights) for casual wear. Can wear it with, without a belt. With or without a denim jacket. Might even get away with trainers. It seemed really versatile. I'm mid twenties and a size 8 if that matters.

Anyway my dickhead husband hates it and has ruined it for me. Says it looks like it belongs to a grandad. I feel a bit sad because of how long I've wanted it.

Opinions?

@YellowEllis I love it! I’m in my 20s would defo wear it with a belt too Smile

maddiemookins16mum · 31/08/2020 12:42

Horrendous.

MuffinHead · 31/08/2020 13:27

I like it. I also like the boots you've bought I might go have a look myself Grin I'm 21- and I agree I think it can go with different styled shoes, and a belt or not I think it would still look nice!
@Folicky

I like it. If you've got good enough pins that will be beautiful. There's something boho, chic, not trying to hard, but sexy about it. Sometimes men don't understand clothes that aren't fitted

Agree with this completely! Surprised at so many negative comments, but each to their own,:)
I agree as well.
My teen dds would love it too

ZaZathecat · 31/08/2020 13:46

I love it (I'm 57). I guess it's a love it or hate it thing. I like a laid-back look, no bodycon dresses, heels or pencil skirts for me.

Bella2020 · 31/08/2020 13:51

I think it's great for your age and size. Please don't let your husband ruin it for you. You wear what makes you feel great.

Pinkpepper9 · 31/08/2020 14:36

I love it!

MrsVeryTired · 31/08/2020 15:32

I like it, very French IMO.

WhatamessIgotinto · 31/08/2020 16:18

If you love it, wear it OP. Unless your husband is thinking of wearing it too, he doesn't need to like it.

yakj67 · 31/08/2020 17:05

I'm in my 20s and I love the dress. If I saw you wearing it, I'd definitely think you were stylish.

Singinghollybob · 31/08/2020 22:53

I like it

Henriettalll · 01/09/2020 11:40

It looks like you can't afford a shirt. Or trousers.

Sorry - it's even worse on.

OhCrapOhDear · 07/09/2020 20:29

Looks better on you than it did the model!

YellowEllis · 07/09/2020 20:30

@LouisBalfour

Sorry - it's even worse on.
Brilliant Grin and here was me feeling good cause DH actually really likes it on, he hated it online.

Definitely a casual dress with tights and boots, didn't work with heels or sock boots. I'm undecided. Everything else I bought is being returned, it was all hideous.

I hated it on the model, but love it on you :)

nellyburt · 07/09/2020 20:37

It reminds me of a jester sorry.

YellowEllis · 07/09/2020 20:37

Needs a good iron, and a properly fitting belt as this one doesn't fit my waist properly, one without studs. But I think I quite like it!

It's nice on you but maybe a bit too short

rottiemum88 · 07/09/2020 20:42

I think it's hideous, sorry!

Geggs · 07/09/2020 20:45

I really like it but more importantly it looks good on you.

Keepyourconversationsboring · 07/09/2020 20:46

Looks fab!

icedaisy · 07/09/2020 20:52

I could never wear it but you look great.

DarkmilkAddict · 07/09/2020 20:53
