I'm still seeing so many cold shoulder tops. Who is buying these monstrosoties?!

Ruffles don't seem to be going anywhere either.

Giant eyebrows looking like hairy caterpillars wandering across your face. I know there's a lot of hate for the over plucked brows of my youth but I really do not like modern brown fashion at all. Especially when they are dyed or pencilled very dark. It looks ridiculous to my (aging, out of touch) eyes.

unmarkedbythat · 25/08/2020 09:46

modern brow* fashion, ffs

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 25/08/2020 09:46

Yes to Midi as well- I don't know what height they are for...I'm 5ft 10 and they just look frumpy and like they can't decide whether to be normal or maxi.

Jumpsuits I think need to be very plain and very well cut. There was a woman at a wedding I was at- she looked amazing. Navy bottom, white sleeveless top bit. I'd have looked like a flump.

Grumpsy · 25/08/2020 09:49

@AnaViaSalamanca

going to be flamed for this, but trainers with dresses/skirts
This. To me they just look ridiculous. Flats or sandals - fine, but why trainers?!
Yaottie · 25/08/2020 09:52

Long fake nails. They look horrible - but then I'm the sort of person who would never go to a salon for fun.

Oh and those stupid buns with the hair piled up right on top of the head. A low bun, messy or otherwise, looks lovely. Having a huge circle of hair on your head just looks ridiculous

audreyand · 25/08/2020 09:54

Cycling shorts. With a blazer Confused

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/08/2020 09:54

As ever, a lot of my favourite things are in this list - culottes, wide-leg crops, mom jeans, trainers with dresses, midi length, leopard print!

My pet hate is leggings worn as trousers, particularly if they are thin and you can see the wearer's pants. I'm not sure that is a trend though.

Grumpsy · 25/08/2020 09:56

@audreyand is that even a thing?! Confused

Like a big hairy doughnut?

Gives me a terrible urge to creep up behind with a pair of shears and perform a doughnut-ectomy.

Abraid2 · 25/08/2020 09:58

Me too! It depends on your legs.

wizzbangfizz · 25/08/2020 09:59

Cold shoulder tops - bloody hideous

MistyMinge2 · 25/08/2020 10:01

Definitely cold shoulder tops. Absolutely grim and look horrible even on lovely toned arms.

Are skinny jeans that awful? A lot of the other types look bad on most, me included - mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, boot cut

I also really hate clumpy trainers that look like people are wearing hover boats on their feet.

Contouring and loads of make up. To the point that the person is unrecognisable once it's all taken off. Most would look much nicer with a more natural look.

FippertyGibbett · 25/08/2020 10:01

Jumpsuits - I always wonder how they manage in the loo after they’ve had a couple of drinks !

Abraid2 · 25/08/2020 10:01

Sorry, that was about skinny jeans. They suit slim people or at least people with reasonable legs.

FippertyGibbett · 25/08/2020 10:02

Those trainers with clear ‘bubbles’ on the bottom. Looks like they’re walking around on a lilo.

SnuggyBuggy · 25/08/2020 10:04

I agree with skinny jeans and crop tops. I'm hoping to lose some weight but I'll never be skinny enough to suit this. I've also tried midi skirts but ended up rolling the waistband to just below the knee.

MagentaADomestic · 25/08/2020 10:05

I also love skinny jeans, I've tried other styles and they just don't suit me at all.

Hate crop tops though

eaglejulesk · 25/08/2020 10:06

Another vote for skinny jeans - they really only suit a few people.

SnuggyBuggy · 25/08/2020 10:07

Also I can't find trainers that don't look clompy and oversized when wearing skinny jeans. It's annoying when it's rainy but too warm for boots and I'm stuck in pumps dodging the bloody puddles.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 25/08/2020 10:08

Skinny jeans have to stay. I got too fat for all of mine and now I'm on a diet I'd like to get some wear out of them before they get unfashionable.
Besides, I remember the days of wearing bootcut jeans in the rain and getting wet upto my knees. That really wasn't a better look - all the frayed hems from dragging on the pavement!

Imgladimnotyourchild · 25/08/2020 10:09

Lip FILLERS

Namechange8471 · 25/08/2020 10:09

Those furry slider things!

Bwlch · 25/08/2020 10:09

I don mind a short top with skinny jeans, they give you a chance to show your tum, bum and legs off. I tend to wear them with boots to reduce the root vegetable similarity.

Floisme · 25/08/2020 10:11

I dislike skinnies too but there are loads of alternatives in the shops now - I don't ever remember there being this much choice - so I'm not sure why people are still annoyed by them.

rc22 · 25/08/2020 10:11

I agree about the contoured make up. I work with a really lovely girl in her early twenties but I am not sure i would recognise her without make up. It's literally like a mask.
