I'm still seeing so many cold shoulder tops. Who is buying these monstrosoties?!

Ruffles don't seem to be going anywhere either.

I love skinny jeans and animal print Grin

I don't dislike this look per se, but do get tired of seeing women looking all the same: long extensions in hair, long talons, massive fake eyelashes, big lips, aggressive contouring...

TDMN · 25/08/2020 11:29

Sliders
Sliders
Sliders

And again, sliders. They look horrible on everyone. Sorry.

Animal print is also terrible in the 'natural' tones - saw a girl wearing a blue leopard print dress and it looked great, but all the beiges/browns look awful and age people terribly!

Worldgonecrazy · 25/08/2020 11:30

I rock skinny jeans - size 8 and work out every day. I will be sad when they are out.

I’m living the new frilly skirts, but at 50 I’m old enough to have worn them first time around.

I agree with pp about filters on selfies. So many young women being told the real them is not good enough.

QuestionableMouse · 25/08/2020 11:30

I'm guilty of a top knot bun (for work, it's the only way I can wear my visor without it getting caught in my hair.)

I also occasionally do wear a dress and trainers. I'm very uncomfortable going out with my feet on show and loathe most open shoes.

QuestionableMouse · 25/08/2020 11:32

@binkyblinky

Socks and sliders. Big buns - everyone knows they are fake. Crop tops, fila platform trainers. Mum jeans. I love skinny jeans!
Some of us do really have that much hair. I wear mine up for work (and hate it, I feel ridiculous) but it is genuinely all my hair. 😭😭😭
Chicchicchicchiclana · 25/08/2020 11:33

Drag queen/porn star makeup.

Hideous over-filled fake lips. The Charlotte Tilbury lipstick adverts literally turn my stomach.

DonEmmanuelsDingleberries · 25/08/2020 11:33

I just want to find a pair of trousers that reach my ankles.

MoreListeningLessChatting · 25/08/2020 11:34

@Thewiseoneincognito

Damm it, I was hoping you had slugs so I could ask why! Confused

Eyesofdisarray · 25/08/2020 11:34

Skinny jeans that are so tight they look like body paint
Cold shoulder tops
Socks with 'sliders' - we used to call them pool shoes???
Agree leggings as trousers- can't be comfy at all
Slug eyebrows, luminous teeth and large, filled lips
Beards- I used to hate talking to a guy at work after lunch- he always had bits of it in his beard Shock
However, I wish my face looked like a snapchat filtered face for real.......
though without the butterflies, stars and puppy ears Smile

tornadoalley · 25/08/2020 11:36

Cold shoulder tops are ridiculous

MoreListeningLessChatting · 25/08/2020 11:39

oh yes..... glow in the dark fake teeth ...veneers.... have you seen what they do to the real teeth underneath its grim [grim]

Jemenfouscompletement · 25/08/2020 11:46

I like low waisted jeans/hipster, skinny or slim legged, and have found it quite difficult to find them as a lot of the current styles have higher waists.
Me too, love low waist skinnies and it's nearly impossible to find them now! My DD loves high waists, I don't.

Swallowzandamazons · 25/08/2020 11:46

Pouting in photos. It looks ridiculous in most cases. Just bloody stop it and smile, ffs. You don't look sultry, you look constipated.

Over-dark fake tans and heavy make up. I think a lot of it is applied absolutely incredibly and with great skill, but it's a mask. I can't tell who is even under it.

Massive fake lashes worn in day situations.

Talons. I'll never like long fake nails, on anyone. They look like germ factories to me. I cannot begin to imagine how someone can wipe their own bum with those, and I don't want to think about how filthy they are.

Illdealwithitinaminute · 25/08/2020 11:47

Veneers- I would be worried that at some future time point, I might be poor or senile and not able to get my veneers replaced and I'd be sitting in the old folk's home with stumps for teeth!

netsybetsy · 25/08/2020 11:51

Standing pigeon-toed for photos - is it supposed to make you look slimmer?

WhatamessIgotinto · 25/08/2020 11:53

Oh god @netsybetsy I couldn't agree more. It looks ridiculous and I just think 'why are you standing like that, you're not 3'.

Pouting in photos
and in fashion shots, the slightly parted lips.
Makes me shudder.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 25/08/2020 11:57

I'm another hater of the cold shoulder top. They just always look a bit cheap, even the stupidly expensive ones.

Winglessvulture · 25/08/2020 11:58

@Jemenfouscompletement The best I have found recently are from Only:

www.only.com/gb/en/on/womens-fashion/jeans/skinny-jeans/onlcoral-life-sl-skinny-fit-jeans-15209508.html

I got them in black and found that they were both genuinely low waisted AND actually skinny fit. They do them in a variety of colours, although annoyingly you have to load up each colour separately in the website rather than seeing all the options for one style Angry

CoronaBollox · 25/08/2020 11:58

Linen trousers, especially white. Got about 20 more years til I have to pull them out I think.

Ridiculously long nails/lashes. The massive fila shoes. Underboob cut dresses. Cycling shorts.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 25/08/2020 12:00

I'm really sick of seeing the eyebrows that look like slugs, Eyelashes so overdone massive thick and long. Looks silly.
Heavy makeup during the day. So fake and why when it's done do all the young women look the same. Clones of each other.

ClinkyMonkey · 25/08/2020 12:02

Oh, just remembered those patterned, high neckline, midi length dresses. Tall, skinny models just about pull them off, but the majority of the rest of people look like a throwback to a seventies comedy sketch - thinking Les Dawson here. Those dresses have been everywhere for several seasons. Who buys them? Polyester fire hazards.

rayoflightboy · 25/08/2020 12:03

Badly done fake tan.My sons confirmation the other day and the amount of women who looked like they needed a good was.Was staggering.

cantsaynotocake · 25/08/2020 12:03

so many things on here that I so like!
Love skinny jeans
Love leopard print
Love acrylic nails
Love and live in dungarees!

WhatamessIgotinto · 25/08/2020 12:11

Someone said upthread about young women having fillers etc and their self esteem and I totally agree with that.

My friends daughter is absolutely stunning, a really gorgeous young woman. I hadn't seen her for months due to lockdown but I saw her the other day and barely recognised her, she's had fillers in her face and her lips - she's 19. Heavy tattooed brows etc. She didn't even look like herself, she looked like a dozen others of a similar age. I do think this is a dangerous trend though and where does it stop?
