My droopy jowl mini face lift result pics

I promised I would post pics of my mini-lift for others who were possibly considering it. I got out of theatre at 2.45 and the swelling is starting to kick in now. Surgeon said that is to be expected. Jowls gone along with burgeoning turkey neck.
Before and immediately after pics wrong way round obvs.
If anyone is interested, I am more than happy to share daily photos.

@SunshineChatter - here’s a side by side before and after. As you can see, it’s really settled down. Hope you get sorted with a surgeon.

Those last pics are blowing my mind OP, excellent result. Not overdone, very subtle.
Considering it for myself as I’ve always had a weak chin and in my family faces get melty in just that area, either side of the chin.
My mum had a full facelift in her 70s (looked great and opened my mind to surgical options) but that feels a bit extreme for me in my 50s.

Stinkyjellycat · 24/08/2020 17:18

Wow. That’s incredible. You look amazing OP!

DameDoom · 24/08/2020 17:35

Thank you. I am chuffed. I had lunch with a former colleague who I hadn’t seen for 4 years and she remarked that I hadn’t aged - she hadn’t had the pleasure of seeing my melting mask of menopause so I showed her my before and after. She was impressed.

Fabulous results OP. Truly amazing. Thanks for sharing.

SunshineChatter · 24/08/2020 20:35

WOW OP! You look amazing. Thank you for sharing these pictures. Am seriously considering travelling to York to use your surgeon.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 24/08/2020 21:05

@DameDoom you look amazing. What are the scars like so far?

tara66 · 24/08/2020 21:05

How very good! I think you were lucky with your surgeon. Sometimes things do not go that well. Do you have any numbness?

DameDoom · 24/08/2020 22:45

There is some numbness right next to my ears but my cheeks are now almost back to normal with just a little tingling.
The scars around my left ear are not immediately visible but the right side is still very obvious but can be hidden by my hair as long as there is no stiff breeze.
I had creases in my earlobes anyway but as they are joined the creases have deepened significantly since the surgery - that hasn’t happened to my friends who have ‘normal’ lobes. A small price to pay for getting rid of the hang dog jowls though.

That was money well spent! I am so glad you did this for yourself and hope you can put the illness and rapid changes behind you. You look amazing and like you--not an unnatural look at all. This is exactly what such procedures are for. So so happy for you.

RunningHoops · 25/08/2020 01:40

I didn't realise I needed one of these until I read this! Do you have any side view?

anxietrist · 09/09/2020 15:08

Please can we have another progress pic OP? Hope all is well!

I was also told that cheek fillers would pull up whatever has started going down. Without giving the puffy look. I am planning to contact the OP's surgeon but need to put a list of questions together and haven't started yet!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 09/09/2020 15:56

Oh I was going to post about cheek fillers to get rid of jowels today, but will add my comment onto this instead. I am late 30's and getting mini jowels like that and they make me so self conscious. I would really like a face lift at some point depending on cost, but wondering if fillers are the right way to go in the meantime.

Has anyone actually had cheek fillers to combat jowels? How were the results?

Westfacing · 09/09/2020 16:03

Interesting thread.

OP, on your 24 August @ 16.25 pre-op photo you are rather pouting your lower lip which distorts your features - I've just tried it in the mirror and it makes a huge difference to appearance.

In the post-op photo your bottom lip is in its normal position.

Your pre-op neck was certainly ageing for a 48-year old.

GoatsInBoats · 09/09/2020 16:14

Wow, OP, you look fantastic. I have no neck at all, from my voicebox to my chin is a wobbly 45 degree slope. I'd love a right angle where my neck meets my jaw!

Can I ask why the stitches go along you ears then outwards onto your face?

GhostCurry · 01/03/2021 23:13

I was so happy to click back onto this thread and find your latest photos (from August, ha!). How is it going now, OP? Sensation back to normal? How is the scarring?

Badadabing · 01/03/2021 23:48

Place marking 😊 I was only trying to find this thread the other night!

Happymenu · 02/03/2021 09:00

Wow, amazing results. Hope all still good OP

PoppityPop · 02/03/2021 11:01

I was only thinking about this thread last night! I’m losing weight at the moment and I fear my jowls will become really pronounced with the loss of fat. Your transformation is fantastic OP.

The head is at a different, more flattering angle, in the second photo.

Elieza · 02/03/2021 18:48

How are you now OP? Has everything settled down ok, normal sensation returned, all as you hoped it would be?
