I promised I would post pics of my mini-lift for others who were possibly considering it. I got out of theatre at 2.45 and the swelling is starting to kick in now. Surgeon said that is to be expected. Jowls gone along with burgeoning turkey neck.
Before and immediately after pics wrong way round obvs.
If anyone is interested, I am more than happy to share daily photos.

Looks really good! And your skin is lovely.

DameDoom · 01/08/2020 11:37

@GhostCurry, I feel like I have my original face back and now that it is beginning to settle, it’s weird to see me looking back in the mirror - it was almost as if I had disappeared into my menopausal pit. Not sure I can quantify in years though.

I have started to wonder more about the impact of menopause on my internal organs though - have they deteriorated as quickly as my outward appearance? Of course, I know the answer to that and it is alarming. I do now have a textbook lifestyle although it certainly wasn’t always the case, so I need to think of some adjustments I can make that will keep me healthy for as long as possible.

Fuckin’ hell - am full of the joys today.

It looks incredible, really great result.

If the tiny dents did bother you later on you can a bit of filler?

GhostCurry · 01/08/2020 20:42

Oh, I can see why that would be worrying you though. Still -you are young. And you look great. What about The Happy Hormone cookbook? Maybe it would help you to feel that you are taking action to be healthy and happy?

bumhead · 04/08/2020 13:41

How are things looking now @DameDoom?

OccultGnuAsWell · 05/08/2020 08:33

Hi OP, I am still following with interest. You do look good in the after photos.

As with another poster I am curious, how are you choosing to respond to people that notice the changes in you? Are you telling them "Clean Living and Pure Thoughts" or are you revealing the lift to them?

ferretface · 05/08/2020 11:24

You look super OP.

DameDoom · 05/08/2020 12:17

@bumhead good thanks - swelling down right down and dents all but gone - can’t believe this has only taken two weeks to happen. My stitch scars are less noticeable too and I am enthusiastically massaging in silicone scar gel to help with the healing. It’s bloody good stuff.

@OccultGnuAsWell. Obviously my friends know but I was chatting to my neighbour yesterday and she remarked several times about how well I looked whilst staring studiously at my face. Don’t know if she had an inkling or not. She is the street gossip so I’ll find out soon enough. Knowing her, if she did notice, it will have been elevated to a full-on reconstruction job with my tits as ear muffs.

I definitely will not lie if I am asked outright though.

You look brilliant! Thanks so much for the update. This is definitely something I will explore fully if my face keeps heading south.

BeTheHokeyMan · 11/08/2020 12:41

Bought Heliocare 360 Water Gel SPF50 after seeing how lovely your skin is op ! Expensive and tiny bottle ( I really need to read the descriptions more carefully Blush ) but it smells beautiful and had a lovely texture, definitely not like other face spfs I've tried . So thanks for that recommendation

sandalsinthebin · 11/08/2020 13:12

You look great. Thanks for this I'm going to look into it too.

purpledagger · 11/08/2020 14:35

Wow, you look amazing.

Miseryisabutterfly · 11/08/2020 14:48

Just wanted to say you look incredible op!

SunshineChatter · 22/08/2020 18:47

Hi @DameDoom. Do you have any more update pictures please?

Endlessmizzle · 22/08/2020 21:10

You look incredible!

I have American in laws who have done similar and what struck me was there was so much less sort of having to ‘morally agonise’ than here - just ‘this is a problem, I can fix it, let’s go’ type of thing.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Endlessmizzle · 22/08/2020 21:12

Oh, what I meant to say was that if you think of how very, very few modern celebs have any kind of jaw slackening/jowliness these days as they age, that will give an insight into how much (very good) work like this is done.

RunningHoops · 23/08/2020 00:09

Marking place. You look great OP!

Anordinarymum · 23/08/2020 00:27

This is a great thread. Thanks OP. I am 65 and my cheeks are sliding down into my neck and you have given me hope :)

I'm sure your neighbour knows, you knocked off 20 years in 10 days. Smile
You look fab and thanks for this thread, very interesting!

DameDoom · 23/08/2020 11:24

@SunshineChatter, I’ll put a couple up later this afternoon when I get back from Scotland. Everything has really settled now which is very pleasing.
If anyone wants to see a truly astounding result, have a look at the pics that have just gone up on the Faceetcmedispa Instagram page. There is a lady who had very significant jowls and sagging and her results are amazing.

Thank you @DameDoom - looking forward to seeing your progress. And I'll check out that Instagram feed. Is that the surgeon you used?

DameDoom · 23/08/2020 11:37

Yes - Mr Nick Rhodes.

SunshineChatter · 23/08/2020 15:04

@DameDoom thank you. I am very tempted to contact him even though I'm South of London. Did you have to have several appointment before and after?

DameDoom · 23/08/2020 15:15

I had my initial appointment over Zoom so did not have to meet in person beforehand; surgery two weeks later then a follow up at 10 days to remove stitches and check over. No faffing about at all.
