My droopy jowl mini face lift result pics

I promised I would post pics of my mini-lift for others who were possibly considering it. I got out of theatre at 2.45 and the swelling is starting to kick in now. Surgeon said that is to be expected. Jowls gone along with burgeoning turkey neck.
Before and immediately after pics wrong way round obvs.
If anyone is interested, I am more than happy to share daily photos.

You look amazing already! I'm assuming there could still be some post-op swelling, but if so, it's only going to look even better. I'm so pleased you're happy with it.

lockdownsunflowers · 24/07/2020 14:20

Fascinating! Keep us posted OP

VanilIaSugarr · 24/07/2020 14:28

Why did you stop having Botox OP, if you don’t mind me asking?

DameDoom · 24/07/2020 14:30

@ RufustheRowlingReindeer I think I’ll just try to look after my neck with serum and sunscreen. Of course the ageing process will continue but hopefully this will reset the clock. Maybe if the deterioration had happened at a slower rate, it wouldn’t have bothered me as much - I was quite ill for over a year before my surgical meno and it really took its toll. My confidence hit rock bottom as well as my face. Thank god for HRT and face lifts.

Yeah...apparently i have the neck of a 40 year old now

I might look at neck exercise as well...although looking down on an ipad or phone or book doesn’t help

Im gonna have muscles of steel in my arms trying to lidt my ipad high enough 😀

RufustheRowlingReindeer · 24/07/2020 14:34

Hope you are feeling better from your illness!

DameDoom · 24/07/2020 14:35

@VanilIaSugarr - it just accentuated the sag and began to look incongruous. I loved it earlier and it really made me look fresher but I was a bit younger then.

@RufustheRowlingReindeer I am indeed. Can I ask when you had your surgery? The surgeon said I had had it done at exactly the right time as there is still plenty of elasticity in my skin so it should be good for 10 years depending on lifestyle and health.
My aim is to age like Helen Mirren as her work is amazingly subtle and age appropriate. Might be deluding myself there!

I think dh may well balk at paying for anymore surgery 😀

I had mine in January (or maybe February ive forgotten) 2019

It was to sort out my neck but the consultant thought a mini face lift was the most suitable treatment

smokescreen · 24/07/2020 15:29

I've been researching this recently so your post came at the right time for me. You look so good already op even with swelling so should be fantastic results when it's all settled.

Definitely please keep us posted and good luck with healing.

FuckyNel · 24/07/2020 20:27

You look great op!!!

InsertHilariousUserName · 24/07/2020 20:31

Wow that looks amazing!! Lucky you having that done I would love to

Planetaryexplorer · 24/07/2020 22:13

DameDoom wow it's made a real difference. You have fabulous skin too

Pikachubaby · 24/07/2020 22:16

Very brave, and kind of you to share

I am much too scared to ever do anything surgical or invasive

Am also 48, and just avoiding mirrors Grin

xxKatie9806xx · 24/07/2020 22:21

Looks great OP. Can’t wait to see it when the swelling goes down a bit. Very brave of you.

Not sure if you’ve covered this, so sorry if you have but just wondering have you been quite up front with people about doing it? I know some people who refuse to even admit they get Botox so I was wondering, are you bothered about being knowing at all?

ageingdisgracefully · 24/07/2020 22:30

Fab result. You look great - thanks for sharing.

PicklePig31 · 24/07/2020 22:48

OP this is amazing.

What a difference. I hope you’re happy and resting xx

@allxxKatie9806xx my friends all know and if someone was concerned about their jowls etc. I would definitely tell them what I had done. I’d rather be honest. I know a lot of my colleagues will be horrified so I won’t broadcast the fact but I certainly won’t fib if asked.

You look amazing! Please do post pics when you are healed. Your post has given me hope! Xx

xxKatie9806xx · 24/07/2020 23:03

Good on you. It’s nothing to be ashamed about. I think if I was ever to have anything done like that, I’d be nervous to deal with questions like ‘you look different’ etc but I am quite an introvert person so find everything awkward anyway!! You must be so pleased.

MissJacksonIfYoureNasty · 24/07/2020 23:18

Oh wow. I am you in the before pic OP. I am also the same age. That's not a bad price and looks like a decent job - you are very brave (I have had facial sutures before following an accident and hated them). But I can see the difference and it looks subtle rather than Jackie Stallone. Fair play to you and I appreciate seeing your journey Flowers
I still have very young dependants though - how risky was the procedure and how much do you have to rest? I hate my mannequin lines - I feel like Angie Merkel. I wonder why Judy Finnegan, who could afford 3k I would have thought, hasn't - her choice obviously but I would consider it if I was financially/personally/logistically able. Not for anyone else but for me.
I hope your recovery continues problem- free and you have the face back that you remember - as I said, it looks very natural atm and hope to see more pics if you're comfortable with posting. Best wishes to you x

NavyBerry · 24/07/2020 23:40

You look amazing! Well done! 💐 do you mind me asking whether you have been doing smth to keep your forehead without any wrinkles?

PassingByAndThoughtIdDropIn · 24/07/2020 23:52

Placemarking for further photos. Thanks for sharing OP, it’s great to see photos without lighting and makeup tricks, and which are honest about the severity of the scars - I’d definitely benefit from something like this and I could easily afford it but those scars stop me kidding myself that this isn’t genuine bona fide surgery.

RufustheRowlingReindeer · 24/07/2020 23:56

As long as the healing goes well the scars fade to nothing
