If someone else has already started one of these please direct me over. I’m not qualified to be the OP of these wonderful threads... but I typed the below and I will be heard Grin Wink

Neither the dress nor the tiara are my personal favourites.

But bloody hell it’s got class.

Granny’s dress and tiara turn it from ‘shameful secret wedding because daddy can’t be seen in public anymore’ to ‘intimate family occasion fully supported and loved by Grandmother, The Queen’. I think it’s a huge showing of support from the Queen to her granddaughter and that’s lovely.

He is a gorgeous little boy , lovely photo.

CarrotVan · 22/07/2020 00:01

I think Bea would have suited a more cocktail length version of the dress with beaded cap sleeves.

Stunning flowers and he really looks like he adores her

Spudlet · 22/07/2020 08:25

Has a royal bride ever worn a short wedding dress? I think they can look beautiful (disclaimer: my own dress was a midi-length number and I loved it) but I can’t think of a royal that has worn anything that isn’t a fairly traditional floor-length job.

AppleKatie · 22/07/2020 09:00

Lovely George photos- he looks super relaxed, like Kate grabbed him for literally one photo on two different days and whilst he was busy doing something else- neither are ‘staged’ at all.

I'm quite anti royal, but even I liked the dress.

I think the sleeves were probably made when the dress was, it's not (or before Diana it wasn't) unusual for royals to order extra sleeves and accessories with dresses / suits or buy a metre of extra fabric.

For the person who asked how long the changes would take - it depends on what has to be done, if Bea and Her Maj from the 1960s have the same waist size then it's not a lot to do, but if it needed to be let out it would be more difficult.

Lovely photos of George, I hope the Cambridge children have as normal lives as they appear to (for very rich privileged families obviously). Happy birthday to him hope there is lots of cake 🎂🎁

And a bit of a bright frock on her mother. Maybe too bright. Think you need Max's flair for this one

I liked Mathilde's navy and cream outfit that she wore to the Cathedral for the Belgian National Day Te Deum yesterday, I though it worked well for that somber occasion.
Later, she changed into the bright pink and orange floral outfit, to watch the parade, which I felt matched its more celebratory mood, though still very different from the usual jolly atmosphere of the National Day celebrations.

itswinetime · 22/07/2020 14:35

I do like how mathilde is embracing the mask and making it part of her outfit! Mask'a are obviously important but no reason they can't be fashionable or at least attempt to be to!

gingercat02 · 22/07/2020 18:21

Not desperately fashionable but a very socially distanced engagement for PP and Camilla. He is very dapper and looks well for a 99 year old.

I love that the hallway at Highgrove appears to be full of coats, and what looks like a high-vis jacket Grin

itswinetime · 22/07/2020 19:00

And wicker baskets! From the look of it Charles and Camillia have a big enough collection to make the best instagram influencers jealous Wink

It's good to Prince Phillip looking so healthy at 99! He looked like he enjoyed the event as did Camilla.

YouSayWhat · 22/07/2020 21:54

How are you seeing inside the hall st Highgrove? I only could see a black interior.

StartupRepair · 23/07/2020 01:33

Nice summer portrait of Fred and Mary. Love her skirt.

You just get a glimpse as Camilla steps out. It’s the high-vis that caught my eye - it reminded me of my own back porch a bit!

I don’t think so. I loved the dress but I really didn’t like the fabric at the bottom. It would have looked AMAZING worn ballerina length with fabulous shoes and a shorter veil but I can see why this wasn’t an option for a royal bride.
Eaumyword · 23/07/2020 09:53

It would look lovely ballerina length. It looked beautiful as it was, but I can see it as Audrey Hepburn type elegance at midi length.

AppleKatie · 23/07/2020 10:59

PP looks very well in that video, impressive for 90 never mind 99.

Has anyone seen this article? It’s interesting - basically saying that the DoCs pictures of her family makes pap pics pretty much obsolete for them - because why pay for a grainy pic when you can get a nice sharp one for free? Very savvy if that’s a deliberate strategy on their part.

thisenglishlife · 23/07/2020 13:39

It's more that it's good PR and cute children = nice/positive articles.

itswinetime · 23/07/2020 14:08

I also think when you see the videos of the press shoots William and Harry had as children for birthdays ect a photo shoot with their mum at home is far kinder for them.
