If someone else has already started one of these please direct me over. I’m not qualified to be the OP of these wonderful threads... but I typed the below and I will be heard Grin Wink

Neither the dress nor the tiara are my personal favourites.

But bloody hell it’s got class.

Granny’s dress and tiara turn it from ‘shameful secret wedding because daddy can’t be seen in public anymore’ to ‘intimate family occasion fully supported and loved by Grandmother, The Queen’. I think it’s a huge showing of support from the Queen to her granddaughter and that’s lovely.

And there's me thinking Kate's Anne Boleyn headbands couldn't get any worse.....Max, Max, Max, what were you thinking?

By the way, you can buy bags of mini white chocolate orange segments, they're very yummy.

LadyEloise · 01/10/2020 20:42

None of you noticed Edward ditched the double breasted Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/10/2020 20:54

Wow yes he has!
Nice one Sophie 👋 🌊

That's my attempt at a wave Grin

MotherofPearl · 01/10/2020 21:31

That is a big win on the single breasted front. So to speak. Looks so much better.

StartupRepair · 01/10/2020 21:51

Think Sophie should have gone all out Kate in the country for this one.

itswinetime · 01/10/2020 21:53

We keep thinking Edward has ditched the double breasted suit and then they sneak back I refuse to get my hopes up anymore Wink

Just wondering what the plan is at Christmas for the Royal Family?
They can't all go to Sandringham this year, well that's if the rule of 6 is still in place.
(Mind you I don't know if anyone will abide that rule on Christmas Day)

itswinetime · 01/10/2020 23:04

The royals will be the one family that have to abide it I think and definitely no crowds for the walk to church. It will be an odd year

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/10/2020 23:09

I suppose each family could be placed in a cottage around the estate.
Then HMQ & DoE could pop in for an hour or so each cottage.
Or there could be a family rota for visiting the big house.
And there is always the Grouse shoot on Boxing Day to get together for a few hours. (I think shoots are allowed?)

That may be the new thing this Christmas but more Turkey shoot than Grouse. Would sort out the seeing your family & Christmas Dinner in one go.

itswinetime · 01/10/2020 23:40

There is talk though that they won't even be able to be at sandringham though isn't there something about the stuff not wanting to bubble for 4 weeks over Christmas (which is understandable) not sure how that's different at Windsor though

BeaLola · 02/10/2020 02:30

Cant link but what fab dress and picture of Flora Ogilvy latest royal bride

Re Queens Christmas - how about each family stay in a cottage and they zoom meet to the main house and have a virtual Christmas lunch Grin

Horsemad · 02/10/2020 06:54

Flora Ogilvy looks stunning. Beautiful dress.

Maireas · 02/10/2020 07:28

Flora Ogilvy looks lovely - very simple and elegant dress. This is where I miss the wedding pics because her mother and grandma are both very stylish!
Can we hope that Kate has dropped the Anne Boleyn headbands?

banivani · 02/10/2020 08:05

@Maireas

Right, I'm FedExing some Dylon in primary colours to Stockholm.
Haha! @Boscoismyspiritanimal - I have no idea what the deal is. A lot of Swedish women have traditional Scandinavian colouring so I suspect that is one reason why we get a lot of pastel skewing maybe. I just feel like there is no range. Then I suspect I'd feel the same if I lived abroad, if I lived in Italy I might grumble "does everything have to have chains printed on it" or something. Anyway, I feel that for many years now they make outfits in black, beige and/or white and one "colour" which is a variety of pink - millenial or salmon.

Lovely Flora dress! Sadly no more photos, curious if there were any guests what they wore (hopefully the Swedish ones would prove my point you see).

frugalkitty · 02/10/2020 08:48

Wedding pic. Like the simplicity of the dress but not the flowers. I like the blue of the groom's suit too.

banivani · 02/10/2020 09:16

Note: Double-breasted!

Horsemad · 02/10/2020 09:33

Oh I like her bouquet, simple and understated.

LadyEloise · 02/10/2020 09:59

The bride looks lovely.
No harsh makeup.
The dress suits her.
Wishing them happiness.

What is traditional Scandinavian colouring ?

Photos of Flora's Great Grandmother Princess Marina on her wedding day in 1934
An 8yr old Princess Elizabeth was one of the bridesmaids.
Prince Philip aged 13 was at the wedding too (as Marina was his cousin) but HMQ apparently says she can't remember him.

Flora does look beautiful & very happy. Her dress is gorgeous.

paradyning · 02/10/2020 16:22

Gorgeous dress in Flora. I think that Marina's dress was pink. Will see if I can find the link.

paradyning · 02/10/2020 16:24

Hmm wrong bride. Marina's dress was made of silver and white brocade.
