If someone else has already started one of these please direct me over. I’m not qualified to be the OP of these wonderful threads... but I typed the below and I will be heard Grin Wink

Neither the dress nor the tiara are my personal favourites.

But bloody hell it’s got class.

Granny’s dress and tiara turn it from ‘shameful secret wedding because daddy can’t be seen in public anymore’ to ‘intimate family occasion fully supported and loved by Grandmother, The Queen’. I think it’s a huge showing of support from the Queen to her granddaughter and that’s lovely.

Regarding the mustard Erdem, I think my love of it may stem from my childhood (please excuse my father's minimal clothing, it was the seventies) ...

I knew you'd unearth some interesting royal connections Seneca. Grin The European Royals really are so enmeshed; I'm always fascinated to learn more about their family links.

MotherofPearl · 15/09/2020 22:55

I've just been reading more about the Bourbon Parmas. Princess Maria Theresa Bourbon Parma was the first Royal to die of Covid, back in March. She was in her late 80s, but it still seems a sad end for someone who had a pretty interesting academic and political career. Apparently she was called "The Red Princess" for her promotion of Leftist causes.

Maireas · 15/09/2020 23:12

Yes, I remember her dying of Covid. The Bourbon Parmas are Carlist.
That yellow baby outfit is cute, Millennium and your dad was a dude!

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 16/09/2020 00:06

Grin Grin every time I see that erdem dress I think of that yellow sofa. Got to love a bold floral print Thanks

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 16/09/2020 00:17

Millenium what a fabulous sofa, and you were such a cute baby!
Your DF one cool dude. I can see him in a Stetson starring in a load of Westerns.
(Compliment btw)

Milennium you must let your dad know that he's currently the poster boy of Style & Beauty. Smile

Milennium you must let your dad know that he's currently the poster boy of Style & Beauty. Smile

It's a surprise to me, I must say!

Lovely Max at a theatre in Rotterdam today. I think Leti wore something similar the other week? There must have been a memo to the royal women that now is the time to wear tweedy things with unfinished edges.

Strangely muted tones for Max! She looks very glam, though. That hat looks like it's hovering in mid air.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 16/09/2020 20:41

I don't know how hats like that work. I guess there must be a comb or clip there somewhere. I'm not really a hat wearer.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 16/09/2020 21:13

My lovely teenage DD has just rolled her eyes & said '"Doh those hats have a headband in them that attach to the hair"
Well that told me 😂

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 16/09/2020 21:42

A headband? I didn't think of that. Does it go under your hair I wonder?

MotherofPearl · 16/09/2020 22:09

I agree that Max looks glam but those unfinished tweedy edges just don't sit well with me at all. I just itch to tidy them up with a proper hem.

Maireas · 16/09/2020 22:47

I'm the same, I don't like frayed edges. She wears it well, though.

banivani · 17/09/2020 10:07

I hate unfinished tweedy edges. Why the hell is THAT the 2003 trend that keeps going. It's because people who belong to the tweed-wearing class think they're being "edgy" or something. Feels very German fashun for laydees.

MotherofPearl · 17/09/2020 19:59

Leti in an extraordinary pink dress with matching heels. I want to hate the Barbie-ness of this outfit but I have to admit that she does look good.

Then, only this thread will appreciate Max cycling in a full length dress and one of those giant hats she favours!

The dress not on a bicycle. I quite like the relaxed fit.

That hat must have been like having a sail on her head!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 17/09/2020 20:24

Perhaps that's why Max wore it, to let the wind push her along so she didn't have to pedal.
Good way of keeping unhot & unbothered Grin

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 17/09/2020 20:40

I like the orange dress on her. It is my opinion that orange is a hard colour to wear. Max carries it off with aplomb Grin

AppleKatie · 17/09/2020 20:41

Max does look great in orange!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 17/09/2020 20:42

Yes Max does suit those bright zingy colours.
