Ooh thanks I just got the Zoya dress and the pink checked blouse with puff sleeves. I am a bit dubious about the length of the Zoya but we'll see

AmethystMoonShine · 23/06/2020 07:19

@Almahart ooh I’m glad you got the Zoya dress, I was tempted but know in my heart of hearts I’d need the S.... they only had M & L when I looked. It such a stunning colour. I really hope you love it!

Laska2Meryls · 23/06/2020 07:48

Yes you really do have to look early on JL, I had a gander at about 6 this morning and quite a bit there . Bit there's really nothing apart from the round raffia bag if it gets reduced further that I want now

Laska2Meryls · 23/06/2020 07:51

Amethyst the Zoya is indeed very big.. I am usually a 14 and I have the S
Have worn it loads already though in this great weather.. but its definitely a floating around at home dress for me, I cant see me wearing it out.

Laska2Meryls · 23/06/2020 07:54

I bought it in the first lot if JL reductions for 85, but they price matched it down to 51 Smile
If the blue cotton canvas workwear jacket is still in ( it was earlier) thats also fab, but I did need to size down. JL price matched that for me also!

AmethystMoonShine · 23/06/2020 08:09

@Laska2Meryls I’m glad you reassured me in the sizing of the Zoya, thank you. I’m a 12 (generous Grin) and usually am a 10 in Toast dresses unless they’re neat across the back, then a 12 is required. So, I’d definitely need an S in the Zoya.

Almahart · 23/06/2020 08:09

Oh it will definitely be too big for me then! Never mind. I hope the blouse fits

Laska2Meryls · 23/06/2020 08:16

Toast sizing can be so odd.. I have long shirts in 10 , lune trousers in xs and other like tees and linen vests in L! . The green linen shift from last year I grabbed in the sale was an 18 and its.certainly not too big on me!! But my linen U dress and tops are S!! 🤔🙄
Anyway

Laska2Meryls · 23/06/2020 08:18

Anyway what was I just saying about not wanting anything more? I just nabbed the Gingham pyjamas I have been stalking as a pair came back in ! 😄

ilovecherries · 23/06/2020 08:24

I can very rarely do all the sizing down that other people talk about. I would think I was delusional about my size but I usually wear the same size in New Look as I do in Toast.

Countmeout · 23/06/2020 08:39

Maybe best not to look, something always pops up.

Laska2Meryls · 23/06/2020 08:39

What did you keep in the end Cherries?

Railingsohno · 23/06/2020 11:25

I managed to finally nab the Seiko Ikat skirt in an 8 on the Toast site. Annoyingly £95 still rather than the £58 I got the 10 for on JL. I do love it though and I think it will be gorgeous in the winter too. Fingers crossed it fits. I’m normally an 8 in Toast and the 10 was big on the hips but not massive on my waist...

AmethystMoonShine · 24/06/2020 08:46

I tried the JL site at 6:30 but nothing there... maybe the returns have dried up now?

Oh well, now just to see if Toast reduce further or add more to their sale? Although my bank balance would rather they don’t Grin

Railingsohno · 24/06/2020 08:48

Has anyone looked at the Brora sale?

ilovecherries · 24/06/2020 08:57

@Laska2Meryls

What did you keep in the end Cherries?
Sorry, this dropped off TIO yesterday. I have kept the linen dress, the ikat one, and a Ume for the winter. Also a couple of linen slub jumpers. I still have the zoya and the other check one - can’t remember it’s name - but haven’t taken the tags off as I’m still dithering. I like them but life being how it is for the foreseeable, not sure if I will wear them. Def not dresses that my local town can live with!
Moominmammaatsea · 24/06/2020 08:59

I’m heading to the Post Office today with a denim v-neck dress and a couple of jumpers!

Countmeout · 24/06/2020 08:59

It will be interesting to see if Toast drop further.
Although I got a confirmation email for my items from John Lewis on Monday no sign of a dispatch yet, which seems slow.

AmethystMoonShine · 24/06/2020 09:46

That’s odd @Countmeout I ordered yesterday morning and got a dispatch email today!

ilovecherries · 24/06/2020 10:37

@Railingsohno

Has anyone looked at the Brora sale?
I haven’t really. I tend to like their winter stuff better than summer, so I’m all over it at Xmas. Is there anything you’re thinking about?
LanternHill · 24/06/2020 11:46

Railingsohno I got a sale preview email from Brora the other day but most of the things I was considering hadn't yet been reduced.
I'm thinking about a cropped jumper to wear with some high waisted herringbone trousers I bought last winter from Toast. Also, possibly a linen shirt.
My Toast Jord clogs arrived but I'd inadvertently ordered stone instead of black. The shape and pale colour make them strongly reminiscent of the clogs you wear in an operating theatre... I'll reorder the black and see how they look!

slipperyeel · 24/06/2020 11:53

The jio print poplin dress arrived and it’s gorgeous, I love it. I’m a 12-14 hourglass and a bit unhappy with my size, this is so flattering as I can pull the waist in but it skins my stomach.

The Kate Sheridan satchel is also a keeper. Lovely leather, smells gorgeous!

I’m also going to put in a recommendation for their soap.’it’s silly expensive but a very large bar which should last. It lathers beautifully and leaves my skin soft and fragrant.

I feel like a bit of a sad Toast groupie!

Alsohuman · 24/06/2020 11:59

This thread’s so bad for my bank account. I’d successfully made myself forget about a Brora top I fell in love with a while back. I thought going the JL route might work - postage costs and possible further reduction - but it’s out of stock in my size. What do we think?

Nanasueathome · 24/06/2020 12:43

I ordered the tied neck dress from John Lewis as it was reduced from £130 to £65 (still full price in toast website)
JL then reduced the dress to £39 but it’s sold out online
Egged on by this thread, I contacted JL and they have refunded the £26 to me

I like it, good shape. The colours are a bit soft for me, I don’t suit pastels. What would you wear it with?
