I think it looks lovely but I would fret that I might feel it was too big after I kept it. I used to be a 16 a nd if I try on anything I’ve kept I generally feel it’s rather too big and I wouldn’t likely wear it out (and then stick it back in the cupboard , just in case )

@paintyhands I also think that looks fine (but another one who prefers loose to tight). I don't think those puffy sleeves look too big at all, thought I know what you mean about them generally not working when oversized. It really suits you!

paintyhands · 19/07/2020 16:58

I think it’s probably going back but I’m tempted to try shrinking it in the tumble drier. Has anyone ever tried to do this on purpose?

Laska2Meryls · 19/07/2020 17:55

painty I would think that would be a brave manoeuvre.. like dying, I would only if I was prepared to risk the result. And the loss of the £..

Laska2Meryls · 19/07/2020 17:56

Dyeing.... !! 😂.. I am certainly not prepared to risk death for clothes !!!! 🙄😂

Countmeout · 19/07/2020 18:09

Surely it wouldn’t shrink in a tumble dryer unless it were man made fibres. I’d not risk it but I am ver risk adverse. The only thing I ever tried to shrink was a pair of cords in a hot wash, wasn’t very effective.

I’ve decided to return it - I have the green checked version in a 12 and when compared this one is just too big - even with a jumper over with the collar and cuffs showing they are just too loose. I love the detail on it though - someone else will hopefully find it and be delighted!

Laska2Meryls · 19/07/2020 22:06

There are a few Toast sale dregs on JL right now !!
Just ordered the blue linen stripe sweater

Alsohuman · 19/07/2020 22:15

Thank you! I’ve also ordered it. I’ve hung my nose over that for ages!

Moominmammaatsea · 19/07/2020 23:23

Thanks for the tip-off, I just ordered the linen jumper in bone (there were 3 in stock in size S, then 2 and then 1) as it looked so lovely on applecatcher and I hope it will be a good match for my Jude trousers, which I tried on today and which have surprised me - in a very pleasant way - as they’re not too ridiculously large around the waist (in fact, they’re a very neat fit indeed) and are actually very flattering. I usually avoid Toast trousers as I struggle to get the right fit. Dead chuffed!

Saurus72 · 20/07/2020 06:39

Morning, a few more things added to JL, going v quick tho! Added the almond print shirt to my bag which then sold as I was adding (another 🙄) JL cashmere jumper. Oh well - the jumper is needed more, plus £26!!

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 08:31

Yes Ms obsessive here awake at 5 checking for Alix ( none) .. JL had quite a bit back in .. but nothing more bought..

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 08:33

I have tan Steve Mono shoes and stripe tee arriving today though Smile

Saurus72 · 20/07/2020 08:45

It is an obsession! But the chance to acquire beautiful items at 70% off hard to resist Wink. Plus, and I don’t know about you, but I really love gorgeous high quality clothes but at the same fine I hate feeling ‘fussy’ about what I’m wearing and as though it would be a disaster if something happened to it because it cost so much. Much easier to relax when you haven’t paid full price!

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 09:05

The JL cashmere is a fab bargain right now

Saurus72 · 20/07/2020 09:07

It’s fantastic quality, really soft and warm. I’ve bought a couple of crew neck jumpers to wear for work and a grey ‘crossover/wrap’ style in pale grey which is far too big but I’m planning to wear around the house with PJ bottoms. Those three things cost £80!

ilovecherries · 20/07/2020 09:20

I got the workwear jacket in a 12 today, meaning I can send the 14 back, and also the striped navy jumper in a small, meaning the medium can go back to Toast. Result!
