That’s beautiful, gold. Really gorgeous. I think the chances of getting a 10 at JL prices now are low, so I wouldn’t part with it till you have the 10 in your mitts. I think at that price, even if you wear it a couple of times, that you’d recoup what you paid (and probably more!) on eBay. It suits you very well, and doesn’t look small. Good find!

@goldpendant looks amazing on you

What a find! Looks fabulous, we’ll done 😊

@goldpendant that is beautiful. Definitely keep it. The 10 may never turn up at that price and as someone says you could always get your money back on eBay.

Goldpendant that dress is stunning, definitely a keeper

I have just been back to JL in search of the 10! It is here, along with a 12 FYI, but both are £82.50!

ilovecherries · 18/07/2020 15:37

Wow. Would they price match it?

Report
goldpendant · 18/07/2020 15:39

No they won't! Told me I must have got lucky this morning 😒

Is there any way you could re-buy the dress in the 10 and then take the 8 back on the new receipt? Does it actually state the size of the garment on the dress?

Alsohuman · 18/07/2020 16:26

That’s very clever. But would the bar codes on the label be different?

Report
Moominmammaatsea · 18/07/2020 16:41

Worth checking?

Report
Countmeout · 18/07/2020 16:45

Will it not scan through the tills at £40. I’m sure you’ve checked though.

@Moominmammaatsea I won't lie the thought had crossed my mind! But, I took the 10 home and it is too loose, doesn't look as flattering! There are two darts in the back I'm going to find a tailor to take out, should do the trick!

It wouldn't work anyway goldpendant bar code will be different

Opinions please Toast fans! I got the asymmetric white shirt in a JL store today for £33 but it’s a 16 and I’m a 10/12. It didn’t look massive on the hanger so thought I’d try it - it is big but doesn’t absolutely drown me. I’m thinking of keeping it to wear under jumpers but it may be a false economy. I’m also wondering if I could shrink it in the tumble dryer. Or maybe I should just stop kidding myself and return it?

It’s difficult to say without seeing it. Any chance of a picture?

I think it looks fab! Surprised that's a 16, you look tiny!

Report
goldpendant · 19/07/2020 14:46

Are the arms a bit gapey?

Report
Alsohuman · 19/07/2020 14:49

It looks absolutely fine to me. I always temper my comments on fit by saying I hate tight clothes and always wear mine on the loose side, though.

Agree with Alsohuman. I hate too-tight clothes also. I think the shirt looks lovely on you.

paintyhands · 19/07/2020 14:55

Ha, I’m not tiny but definitely not a 16. It’s smaller than I would have expected but I tucked it in as it looks bigger left out. The arms and neck are a bit gapey @goldpendant. Hmm, I’m not sure. I don’t want to damage it in the dryer but it might shrink, I’m not sure really. Thank you everyone.

I also veer towards a loose fit but the puffy shoulders are what’s making me question this one - they just don’t work with anything oversized!
